Guys grabbing the Empire 48" level.. make sure you take the time and check them out with batteries.. Im on my 2nd one and the digital display was not working.. my buddy same deal.. all different stores.
Ironically I just discovered the same thing with mine. I bought the one with Vials made in USA, left the other. If another store nearby has another I will bring batts and try them out and maybe swap mine or just contact Empire and get it warrantied. Either way the novelty of it I might never use the display. I just need a decent 4ft level as a spare.

Picked up a fish tape light but left the other behind. Figured I didn't really need 2.
In addition to the fishtape light there are a few other Klein VDV tools on clearance. Scotchblock crimps, coax/eth strippers, punch tool/screwdriver ala 6 in 1 driver style, and a few other misc ones.

There are spools of RG6 double shielded copper clad steel for $8 and change. just the white. Maybe I'd buy store bought coax if it was quad shield, but for those that want it you can take a look out for it.

Don't remember exactly but the box of 5e was also clearanced out.

Wow now I see where all the Milwaukee meters went to. This is a store on the west cost of Florida that I stopped by when I was on vacation.

The store I was in yesterday had a similar display for Milwaukee stuff. Then there was a movable rack with all the sale items for LED light bulbs to DeWalt saws.

$45.03 I just bought one last night. I wish I could have gotten a top but I think I'll either get the MBI top or just use my Sears Viper Pro 3 drawer on top of it.

Mind if I ask which city/store? I'd love to pick up an extra meter

Question about the Milwaukee clamp meter, bought 3 and just tested all three. When I select amps (first mode on the dial) and clamp it over a power cable, should I see amps even if .0x amps? To clarify, we are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen and have lots of exposed wiring. I've checked several with a load and nothing shows a reading. I put our electric oven on max temp and it showed 0.30 amps as I moved the clamp over the cable but once it had closed around the cable, it went to 0 in second or so.

I've never used a clamp meter but thought that was the point of the clamp function, show the current draw in the line it is clamped around. Instructions state such but just wanted to check with others with this meter

If the meter is working properly and you simply clamp it around a cable (sheathing containing multiple wires), it will display virtually zero current. When measuring current with a clamp meter the jaw goes around only 1 conductor at a time. This should give an accurate reading of the current.

See this youtube video on how to properly use the meter.

Thanks for the reply, I should have clarified my testing method, I was doing as described in the video. Testing again I do have two bad meters that read 0 with the clamp and about half voltage with the leads. The third meter does read correctly but I had it on the wrong mode last night so that brings the question, hoping I can get Milwaukee to repair/replace vs taking it back to home depot.

Thanks!

Too bad it's too far of a drive to make sense. 5 hours drive time means I'd have to buy a couple extra to resell to make it worth it...and I'm not going to do that. Oh well, maybe that info helped another GJ member

Now there are discounts for Pros, Military, bulk, new mover, etc, but no employee discount. One discount that a lot of folks aren't aware of is 5% for using a HD credit card. This is like the discount at Target for their red card, except you have to ask for it at Depot.

Good info, thx.

Can you stack the discounts? Like 10% for Pro & 5% for using the HD CC for a total of 15% or like 10% for Pro & 10% for military for a total of 20%?

Stores don't generally do it like that.
But here is what happened to me a long time ago when track lights were in fashion. A big box store was clearing out some high end Halo fixtures because the burnished brass was going out of style. They were marked 40 per cent off on the box but on the pallet it said 50 percent of lowest price. So the price I paid should have been 30 per cent of the original price, right? Originally 50 bucks each. So the cashier couldn't seem to do the math, and just added the two discounts and gave them to me for 90 percent off or 5 bucks each. I bought all they had.

I have that network tester. I think I paid full price for it a couple of years ago, but it was extremely handy wiring our home for network. At full price, a tone generator/tester would likely be a better investment, but I didn't know they even existed at the time. $13 is well worth it for the Klein.

I don't believe any of them stack, but know you can combine them with item discounts/coupons. The Pro discount is a small percentage, except for Pro Paint - it is very healthy.

I used to know all these details and have easy access to coupons, but my source in the marketing department left the company.
