Yea, I was hoping that the pro app would bring more to the table. Apparently not.
Got ya.
I wonder if they would let you borrow a scanner.....like they would if you are making a wedding registry for instance.......I mean if you "scheduled your wedding out two years" you would need to/should update that registry constantly right???????
if it is on their proprietary Network it is most likely password protected. even if it is not password protected or you know the password (which may be a store number), wouldn't this be a network intrusion?
I wouldn't be surprised if they have a software which monitors Network activity
I am all for it but I don't know it is legal to use one
what is the sku and model of the chainsaw on clearance? going to have to look here in CT....
Especially after their credit card breach that they had. Getting onto their internal network would definitely be password protected and MAC address filtered. The external wifi network that you pick up in the store is part of the DMZ (de-militarized zone), which does not get you into their network.

DMZ means you can use their network to access the internet, but the firewall would prevent you from getting into the internal network.
Learned all about it in CEH training (Certified Ethical Hacker)
Yeah I was thinking about that too, after their hack you'd figure the place is locked down tighter than God knows what.
Even the spreadsheet that was started is an improvement.
Im still hoping to get access to their APIs to see if they return store-level pricing or not.
What's an API?
What's an API?
Added to sheet.
Its easy to request a key.Im still hoping to get access to their APIs to see if they return store-level pricing or not.
it would be nice if there was a phone app accessing their price check API. Similar to what their registers have access to.
kmart, target and others have those price scanners, I am surprised they did not create a phone app so people could use that instead
right I know that. and I think it's a mistake. They have a phone app available. It doesnt do store-level pricing, though...it just mimicks the prices that are on the website.
Crazy. That stupid bucket fan is still full price in my local stores...
Yes, to REQUEST it.
Im still waiting on them to respond to my request.

does anyone know if I can use T12s in this thing or only T8s?
Home Depot has a box of T12 30 count for a penny
Everyone who has PMed me has been given access to the sheet. If there are any issues with access, you need to use a gmail account. If you PMed me and haven't gotten access, let either of us know.
Thanks for you time and effort in this little project.

It seams easy for me to find the penny deals on the big items. I am not having much luck on the small items.

I just stumble on most of mine. Once you get a feel for the stores in your area and know what items have been on clearance, the penny deals will come. Also look for stuff that seems out of place or exceptionally old.
This.
Its funny but you almost have to seem like a weirdo, going to different Home Depots pretty consistently. I suppose because of time and gas money involved, its more of a hobby, but once you walk out with a good penny item it kinda makes it all worth it.
In fact, last night I had to install a nailer to hang some cabinets on my concrete basement wall. To do so, I used:
Milwaukee corded SDS hammer drill, cost: $0.01
1/4"x7" SDS drill bit, cost: free (sample pack)
5/16" x 3" Tapcons, cost: free (sample pack)
The only thing that "cost" was the wood I used, and that was stored in the garage of our house since we bought it, so technically that was no cost too.
Its fun when you can do a project for basically nothing!
