Still $148 and$158 at my area stores that have them. Picked up some energizer light at 0.1 and some simple green for .50.The 4 that were there yesterday are gone and the price stickers are gone. You can't tell they were there.

Does it have all the tubes on it?

If yes then I think the only other items in the box is the manual and a small bottle of oil.

No, it didn't. I searched high and low for the tubes. It was stashed back behind a bunch of the new models boxes. I bet one of the tool guys was waiting to get it.

It was my lucky day. Grabbed 10 of the Milwaukee 12 volt Screwdriver and Impact sets.

I Had the first argument over penny deals this evening out of the 2 dozen or so I have bought. Found about 15 of the HDMI cables on the shelf above the rest of the cables. I get one of the small ladders and get them down and go to self checkout. After ringing about 5 of them up, the clerk comes over and sees the price and calls the manager over. In the meantime, I ring the rest of them up, pay and get my receipt.

The manager asks me where I got the cables and I told her on the shelf right above the others. She gets kind of rude and says that they can't sell anything that comes from top stock. I attempt to call Customer Care, but they are closed. The whole time I am trying to reach them (before the recording stating they were closed came on), she keeps repeating "tell them you got it from top stock" over and over loudly. She tried to tell me that top stock is where they normally put RTV items and that customers can't buy anything out of top stock.

I calmly tell her that HD policy states if it is in the customer's cart, they can buy it for a penny. She won't have any of it. In desperation, I finally tell her to keep them and I will just call corporate in the morning. It was getting late and I was an hour and a half from home and I was tired of arguing with her. I didn't want it to escalate into her calling the police, so I just decided to let it go. I did make her give me my money back, mostly out of spite. I paid for my $50.03 Ryobi 40 volt cordless chainsaw and called it a night.

The sad fact is, the same guy who noticed this is the same one who was working SCO a week ago when I bought a garage door opener and the 26 inch Husky bottom box for a penny each. He never said a word then, despite the fact that he had to scan the bottom box with the handheld scanner, walk back to the main computer and input it so it would go to my SCO terminal. I know he had to have seen that the price was a penny.

What time was it when you called and it was closed? I'm wondering because I like going around 8pm PST and would hate to get stopped at the register and corporate not answering.

It was about 8:45 Eastern time. The recording said they were open from 8 am to 8 pm. I would assume that this is Eastern time as well based on the fact they were closed when I called.

What options do you use when trying to get a hold of someone?

I have never had to try before yesterday. I went through all the prompts till I ended up with the one that said to speak to Customer Care. That's when the recording told me that they were closed. Is there a better way to do it?

Can anyone brainstorm some uses for those hot water heaters? Trying to get creative with them and maybe put one in the garage or something...

SO... I went to a store that is fairly close to me but not at the same time, (weird right?) to check out the deals there and I asked an associate for the in store computer for customers, well they sat me down in a small secluded area in flooring and I got to work checking skus on all the popular items... said they had 4 Honda power washers, 4 backpack blowers, one chainsaw, and two 4-burner Charbroil grills and I thought "jackpot!" but boy was I wrong, I searched for about an hour and a half then got help. Out of all 11 items the associate that was helping me found 0. 11 items in there inventory gone like a ghost...

On a positive note I did get a penny deal, hammer holder with a date on the tag of 4/**/2015. Also I noticed they don't like to remark things down after they hit the clearance shelf, I saw several items that had the first "few bucks off" clearance price on em that were already in the .03 range, so I might catch more penny deals at this store in the future.

I was think of calling today and asking them to pull em for me, what do you all think? Should I go back and ask a manager to look in there little stock area in the back for em? I'm kinda new to this all, thanks for any advice.

If your house has the master bedroom on one side of the house on the 2nd story and your hot water heater is in the crawl space on the other, then it would be a great way not to have to wait 3-5 minutes for hot water in the winter!

Pull the items you couldn't find? You could have tried to take a look in the "receiveing" room.

That's a lot of stuff to be missing.. make sure you check outside in Lawn and Garden for some of the bulky stuff. If there was that much showing, I'd walk EVERY aisle, check every overhead. If it's nowhere to be found, they may be hiding some out back in receiving.

Also, peek around as much as you can behind the Pro desk and Customer Service desk. Sometimes they hide stuff there, or hold stuff for customer pickup that never paid yet.

Yeah, have someone else try to find them and pull em other than "donovan, sales associate" who gave up rather quick. I did try to look in the "receiving room" a little, but I kept getting eyeballed by workers.

Walk right in and peek around, then say you're looking for the bathroom lol

I did this the other day haha. Lady laughed and pointed me in the right direction... Saw a pallet with some of those 3 tier penny planters on them while I was in there, as well as what I think was the pallet of penny storage totes that I wanted...

I would say that might most definitely cause them to continue to be missing as the person looking for them will likely want them for himself. I don't think HD is as bad as Lowes but...

Here's pretty informative video of guy who has the Ariston 4 gal electric water heater that he uses for "always" hot water with a re-circulation pump. This keeps his Rinnai tankless from trying to cycle for his re-circ.

Good info on the little anode rod in those units and potential wire problems from overheating as he re-wired some stuff.

Part 1:
Part 2:
Part 3:
Part 4:

Here's another where it's used for POINT Of USE at a kitchen sink that is far away from the HWH so he installed under the kitchen sink.

Getting off topic here, but I have a boiler with an indirect water tank. Could I plumb one of these little units in line with the supply to my indirect tank to minimize the heat input required from the boiler to heat the contents of the water tank?

Well, that call to customer care was a total waste of my time. They talked to the store manager and she told them I had "went into a crawlspace to retrieve the merchandise from an unauthorized area". What a total crock of BS! Where in any HD store is there a crawlspace? The cables were on the shelf right above the other cables. She also stated that I used a ladder that I wasn't supposed to use. The yellow ladder had a sign hanging on it that stated it was for customer use.

I got absolutely no resolution at all from that phone call, other than to basically accused of doing something I shouldn't have been doing. The manager basically just lied to cover her own behind.

You should go back and take a picture of the sign on the ladder and a picture of exactly where you got the cables from. I'm sure it won't help, but it's frustrating knowing that you did nothing wrong.

A store near me still has quite a few of the 2pk HDMI cables in a box on the shelf above the cables (appears to be a whole flat of 20-30 2packs). I haven't even attempted to get them down and buy them. Maybe next time I go I will give it a shot. I already got 10 for myself from another store, but maybe I could sell these on eBay or something. Profit margin isn't huge but...

If I do try, I will likely just ask to speak to a manager right off and walk with him to go check them out.

Long rant ahead.....
Went to Succussuna HD yesterday on lunch and saw the saws for 100.03 came back to work and posted here. Inventory had a store 10 min away with 4. Went to that store after work and they are full price. Ask for the manager and says he could do something for me but won't match the store 10 minutes away. Their computer had them at full price. Gave up stopped at a third home depot on the way home and tried to have them let me buy at their store and take the inventory from the store with them in stock. No luck. So is this worth a call to corporate or an opportunity for a buy & return/resell at a lower priced store.

Same things for the smokers. HD by work has them at full price in stock and all other local HD have them on clearance.

Lastly, the milwaukee hand tools on clearance recently posted. They are .03 at local store except for the one who has them in stock they are .06. FYI the clearance ones are still more expensive than the new ones at .06 status. The reason is the new tool are shite. Did a side by side comparision and the new tools are so thin and cheaply made they wouldn't last a day in my garage.
