Found an Echo PB-500T blower display model where the PB-580T display should have been. Took it to up to the cashier and gave her the SKU for the PB-500T and when she saw it come up for a penny she didn't want to sell it to me. She called an associate from Garden who wanted to use a different SKU from a random (non-backpack) blower model and charge me the full $149 price of that blower. That's when I requested the mgr and he made up some bs about it not being a working model, etc. so I called Customer Care and put the rep on speakerphone. The rep explained the penny item policy to the mgr (customer is allowed to buy it for a penny) but he kept trying to make excuses to not sell it so the rep put me on hold and proceeded to call the store mgr who never answered the phone but walked over to the checkout area. Even after being told the corporate policy by the rep, the store mgr wanted to sell it for the last clearance price until finally relenting and said I could just have it for free. When hearing this the customer care rep told him no, that he had to sell it to me for the penny price and couldn't just give it away. This was awesome as he was trying to hide it by giving it away but the customer care rep schooled him big time and said she was going to email that entire store's mgmt team on the company policy. To add to the awesomeness of the situation, as I was leaving I found a penny in the parking lot laying right next to my truck so I got reimbursed for my cost. :)

I haven't found a decent deal in Tallahassee, FL in years.

Same here in Tampa, all the stuff I can find that's on the spreadsheet or in this thread is significantly more expensive when I price check. The 2-pack HDMI cables are $15 and the $40 Husky tool box is $146. I've seen some of the Milwaukee meters in a "No Home" top stock that is protected with a locked mesh screen. I've heard some people have found items in Florida but I'm not one of them.

Sure did. Kind of felt bad because the attendant was a kid in a wheel chair.

06GMC5.3L,

Almost looks as if we shopped in tandem today. Went to one store and found the Cutter Backyard Control - 2 pack - but these were only the fogger cans, not hose sprayer at a penny each (didn't know that they were clearanced out until I went through the SCO - failed to check them first as I routinely do). Bought 2 packs initially, and went back into the store to purchase the remaining nine double packs. Got all of them scanned when the See Attendant screen came up. Attendant states that I can not buy them for a penny, but she will sell them to me for the last clearance price. Tell her that he statement is not in line with HD Corporate Policy and ask her to call the manager. Head Cashier comes out (dealt with her once before when I found a penny toolbox - she didn't want to sell it to me until I mentioned the Corporate Policy and made an offer to call them for her if she was in doubt) and tells me that they can not sell them to me, and take one of the packages and starts to querry the cash register to find the last clearance price.

While waiting to have a further discussion with her, the checkout screen appeared asking me to pay 9 cents for my purchase. I run my gift card through the machine (I like to use a gift card as it doesn't require me to look for change, leaves no tell tale signs like a credit card, and is easy to retrieve from my back pocket when I am in a hurry to complete my purchases) and complete the sale. When the Head Cashier returns she tells me that she is going to charge me $1.57 for each of the nine double packs. I show her my receipt and tell her the sale is complete. She walks off telling the SCO Attendant to let me go, but to get a copy of the receipt for their records. Score one for the GJB team......

Also was able to find two more of the motion lights you have in your cart - gives me a total of 5. Had one more from the above store - for what I had hoped would be a total of 6, but when I scanned it prior to departing the store it rang up $15.03 (the Whole House Surge Protectors I found were ringing up $50.06 - not sure why there are still holding on to the older price). Still looking for one more so my search will continue.

One more thing - was able to secure another box of T8 4' LED Light Tubes for $14.00 today from another store. That now makes 5 boxes. One more and I should have enough for my to fill my diamond plate shop lights (will use the flourescent tubes for my 9 black diamond plate lights - I have 10 boxes of those - 100 bulbs in total).

When are you coming back to the DC area? Need to make sure that I get all the bargains before you get here. Seems that you made the folks at the Rhode Island store weary of us penny hunters.......

Aren't the bulbs 14 each or for the whole box?

The price was for the full box. I have been lucky enough to find three boxes recently that have the yellow clearance sticker on them that says the reduced price is $19.00for the 10 pack (must be an old sticker as each box has rung up via SKU for $14.00). I have checked out each time at the SCO, but each time I try to scan the box(es) I get the message SEE Attendant. At two different locations, each Attendant has keyed in the SKU, saw the price of $14.00 and has given me the box for that price.

I am willing to bet that it was supposed to be $14.00 per bulb - at least at one time. Currently they have another T8 LED Instafit bulb - which is 2000 lumens, vice the 1600 I purchased - which are priced at $9.99 each. Not sure if that is driving the current price or not. I know that at one store, I found a similar box and the Attendant tried to sell it to me at $17.00 a bulb. Told him thanks but no thanks. Went to another store approximately 10 miles away and found the two boxes that I previously paid $14.00 each for. Understand that they are LED, but not sure if I would pay $14/$17 for each bulb, especially when I found 10 boxes (containing 10 bulbs each) of equivilent fluorescent T8 bulbs for a penny each. Would have to save an awful lot of electricity to make up for the cost comparison fluorescent vs LED (someone did that comparison on an earlier post when I noted that purchase of the two boxes of LED bulbs about three weeks ago).

It is supposed to be per bulb. One store here has one bulb with a $17 sticker on it. Maybe the upc on the outside of the big box is the same as that on the individual bulbs. I know for a fact that it's supposed to be per bulb. These bulbs were almost $30 individually before the clearance.

Haha I won't be back for a while. The managers down there were rude though compared to up here. Rhode Island wasn't bad, but the Hyatsville one was very rude.

Aren't the bulbs 14 each or for the whole box?

Should be per bulb. He's getting lucky!!! I suspect the box upc and bulb upc are the same.

Again, supposed to be per bulb. I would do it though if I could find a whole box. Only one individual bulb left around here.

I had posted a picture a while back of the single bulb here that I am referring to.

EDIT, dug back through to find the picture.

I would say still at least 1 week here in New England. Others had noted the drop to .03 about a week before we saw it though, so it may be soon.

Just bought three Echo blowers in a row by putting the display model in a cart, taking it up to a cashier and giving them the sku. When they mention that it rings up at 1 cent, I just say it is on clearance and 'they' are trying to get rid of them. And then the cashier completes presses the compete transaction button and I swipe my credit card. Then the cashier removes the security device and I leave. Its like I am in the twilight zone. They don't even question the sku. I hope Home Depot is not reading this thread like they did on slickdeals.

I picked up a CS330T at the Waltham, MA store the other day for the 65.03 price.

I have an older CS300 that needs a new brake cover assembly and bar and this was far cheaper than buying those and has the benefit of the new piston ported motor.

Wish I could find a blower, but no luck.
