The Bostitch nailers? Whenever I check, most of them are still in the computer at the .00 price. Same with the Husky chest combo for 75.00 and that jack/jack stand set for 25.00 etc.

Those are the only items that come to mind. That Makita kit is at 161.00, but eventually falls to 49.00, with no .06/,03 in between.

I think some items just bottom out at .00.

yea some of them are still in at .00.. I know I've seen some stores that bumped the Ridgid and Hitachi roofing nailers from .00 to .06 then .03 then penny.. of course they all sold out at the .00 level long before they hit .06

I've also seen the 77 model Skilsaw worm drive circular saw hit penny status, then months later come back at .06. Don't know why it came back since they never restocked it. Think I saw this in the Hooksett/Manchester area somewhere.

Strange but the dewalt miter saw was 180.00 and looks to drop 150.00 this week

Stopped in at my closest local store on my way to work, the whole home surge protectors are still at .03 level. I'll try to stop in at the others as I work around town. This is in the Tulsa, OK area.
While going through Tulsa last week I was able to get a senco full head nailer for a penny and also noticed one store had 3 of the 330 chainsaws in recon area but they only wanted to give me 10% off. Another store had a display model but wouldn't sell it because of missing parts. I didn't have time to argue and call but you may want to try.

saw that price in the computer yesterday but that store didn't have any. Is this brand half-decent? I just need one to keep the pellet stove running.
Decent. I bought one a few years ago. No issues.

this .00 is a mystery to me. I thought .00 was a store markdown, not from corporate but it looks like it's not the case since this washer is the same price everywhere and the $29 price looks like 90% off

I thought Black Friday was 11/27.. what ever happened to tradition? Black Friday spans 3 weeks now. Cyber Monday lasts over a week.

And the longer both of those promos run, the crappier the deals become!

But people still rush out and buy because "OMG its BF it has to be good!"

Ill take my .00/.06/.03/penny deals throughout the year instead, thank you.

I tend to celebrate black friday during March if I recall - that's when all of last years special buys seem to drop out of the system!

Yeah, Feb/March/April was a fun time last spring.

I don't think I profited off anything but it was fun finding all the deals for friends and family that could actually use the stuff. DeWalt table and miter saws mostly.

Just received an email response from Echo stating they will be sending the missing parts for a PB-500T blower display unit I purchased a couple of weeks ago at the $80.03 clearance price. Sounds like they are denying requests for items purchased at a penny but sending out the missing parts if you paid more.

So it might be cheaper to beg Home Depot to give you the last clearance price instead of a penny, depending on what parts you need to make it complete?

:)

I don't get the anger at echo. Why should they be on the hook to send out free parts for blowers HD opened and put on the shelve and either scabbed parts from or had them stolen.

Agree.. it's HD's fault for selling stuff with missing parts (regardless of price).

My complaint against Echo (and what someone else mentioned about Homelite) was how they're basing their warranty on how much people paid (even though this isn't a warranty issue). No manufacturer should question how much a consumer paid the vendor, then base honoring their warranty off of the price paid. They can ask for proof of purchase, but not judge the price.

I don't get it either -- a manufacturer has the responsibility to take care of manufacturing defects that are their fault, like replacing parts that weren't put in the box when it was manufactured. It's not their responsibility to take care of problems that were caused by the retailer who opened the box and scattered the parts. That responsibility belongs to the retailer. Ultimately the responsibility falls on the customer who makes the decision to buy something that he knows to be defective / open-box-incomplete.

This reminds me of the story about the display welder that cost a penny but didn't come with a factory warranty ... :dunno:

I agree with Spn -- the manufacturer has no business trying to insert themselves into the retail sale. They are not a party to that transaction.

Last night EVERY aisle was full of stuff that HD workers were stocking for BF and front had bunch of BF stuff all out in rows:
- - - 268 piece Husky tool set in plastic toolbox $149
- - - 205 piece Husky tool set in plastic case $99
- - - Kreg R3 pocket holeset w/ face clamp $39.98
- - - Kwikset electronic deadbolt $39.88
- - - Bosch daredevil spade bit 14 piece set $19.88

Also the lawn & garden outdoor section was full of Husky toolboxes - - big ones with the wood top.

If it's the store I'm thinking of, it's the same store that has a penny 5 burner grill in the box in top stock above the wheelbarrows. The employee wouldn't get it down until talking to a manager since he couldn't find it in his handheld. That manager said it was to be donated. It's still sitting there two weeks later. I'll take another stab at it when I've got room in my truck on a day off. Haven't really been up to buying recon stuff unless I truly need it.

Not much on that list interests me, even on clearance!

My stores have the BF stuff setup also, and even the stuff not listed on that list isnt astoundingly great.

I feel like the DareDevil sets are on sale for every major holiday and since they never sell out, they just keep listing them for the holiday after.

I would try it on different shift managers and forklift guys who don't give a **** and never scan items...they just lift it down and gone...
try weekends or slow days....maybe have you wife or someonelse try it also...

when I got my free 40" husky toolbox set...top/bottom for penny... It was my first penny deal...I asked toolguy to get it down and he in turn got a forklift guy to bring it down...they didn't even have a scanner with them....
even the assistant manager was there to help to bring it down....that is until he realized what it rang up at register...tried to charge full price and I stood my ground....got it for a penny.....famous last words were....cashiers said really...just ring it up for penny.... Managers said...no choice...we brought it down and its on his cart..... atleast he gave in easy....
