All of them were showing declined because "the store number was invalid" or the "receipt dates were wrong", then when he looked at the receipts, he noticed they were right.

They must have people who can't read English inputting this data.

Don't ever bother using the rebate center website 'chat' feature. I was chatting with a 'rep' for 15 minutes yesterday regarding the details and her checking the rebate status. She comes back with my purchase was ineligible because the promo was for paint, from May, and only available to stores in the NE. WTF? Closed to window, called in, and got the rebate approved.

Hope HD isn't paying that company very well for their ****** service...

This. Small engines hate me. Gas sitting around always old. Pull starting becomes a 20 minute ordeal. Or I can grab my cordless & pull the trigger. Plus it's quiet.

If anyone is looking for those 40v trimmers, streetsboro Ohio had 4 or 5 @ $40. I have no use for them and ebay is full of $40 batteries right now... So there's no money in them for me.

Yeah, only battery trimmer I want is the echo 56v ones. But they are still full price. Until then, sticking with gas for now.

is 40 too weak or doesn't last long enough?

I've used power trimmer and power lawn mower and they both sucked. but I believe that trimmer was only 18 or 20 volt

To me, sweet spot seems to be 56v echo power. I tried Ryobi 18v, it was **** and that 40v one looks like plastic toy compared to echo 56v one.
Besides, echo 56v family has chainsaw, trimmer, blower, hedge trimmers.

I wish my stores looked like that, I could use some of those 12 outlet ones but stores around here only had a few when it was .03 now I cant find any surge protectors.

You guys seem to have quite the honeyhole.

As you can see these were still all marked at .06... The light has been there a while as well but just never looked it up until tonight.

Yeah, my stores are quick to update tags and even quicker to pull penny items.

Scanned the belkin stuff at my home store tonight but they ring up full price. Grabbed some plastic stove wall boxes marked as a 1$ down from 10$ but they didn't ring up right. Didn't have time to fight.

There was a nest wall thermostat marked down but it was still 150$.

Am I missing something? The Yellow sticker clearly says these were all supposed to be 28 & 34 dollars.

40V Ryobi has "good" runtime IMO and power is also, well, good.

I've explained it elsewhere on the forum but if you hear negative reviews specifically on the Ryobi 40V string trimmer you MUST know if it's the one in question or the "better" dual-line Xpand-It which, frankly, *****.

The Ryobi 40V family also has blower, chainsaw (love it, personally), hedge trimmer and of course mower. Ryobi's biggest weakness is 2.4ah batteries compared to the professional brands, but then again just like their 18V tools Ryobi doesn't claim these to be professional grade. Just like the 18V stuff they've nailed the "value" category.

I initially got into the string trimmer and a recon chainsaw (both kits with one charger and one battery each) for right at $200 total. You can't touch Echo or Ego or Stihl for that BUT any of those brands will run circles around Ryobi.....so pick your poison.

Ryobi 18v batteries have 4.0 Amp Hour and are the best in the industry as far as I'm concerned. Look for 4.0 Amp Hour 40 volt sometime in the future. I got into the 40v this year and am thinking of making a 2x18v adaptor to run those in the 40v tools and get the 4.0 Amp Hour that way. The thing with the Ryobi 40v chainsaw is it doesn't oil enough, very dry. Otherwise pretty good but Ryobi keeps erring on long run time by design but not massive power or torque by design. I want power and torque, not the ability to run meek tools for hours. I do generally like the 40v line though - much better than anything in the 18v line for yard tools. I got mine all cheap used. - Paul
