So are you just using the born on date method on these or is there some other voodoo? My local home depot seems to never have anything over 3-4 months old and from what I understand, means it's not $0.01.

How much were the Artic Cove misters? My local store had them on clearance for $79 last week. I'm wondering if they didn't update the sticker on purpose. If you wouldn't mind, could you please post a picture of your receipt?

The boxes that say "New and Improved" are...new, and full price. If you find any of the old boxes that don't say that, they should be a penny.

Had to fight for about 10 minutes for these pennies. Self checkout said he had to take them. I said no and walked off. Went to lawn and garden and she said she couldn;t sell them. Talked to a manager..said he would do it all for 10 bucks. I said no. Eventually he put all 4 items under "generic SKU" and rang up 4 pennies. The cashier said they just had a meeting about not selling penny items.

Here is my haul from Thursday. Went to sco, price checked everything - all came up a penny. Everything was going fine until I put in my money. SCO screen said "purchase suspended". Attendant came over and said they can't sell it to me that it "messes up their inventory". Thought I was in for a fight. Calmly said all the items were on the sales floor. She said the items were free. She also asked me if there were any more on the shelves. Of course not - I would have put them in my cart! Guess my HD has changed SCO software to stop penny transaction. I would prefer if they rang up and I had a receipt, but free is not bad either!

I think my local store must be a flagship store as there is rarely anything on clearance much less a penny. End up having to hit other stores nearby for anything of a discount.

Those artic fans are a penny now? Two stores today no belkin to be found got a dual HDMI set for a penny, go 27 of those 10 pm allen wrenches last week.

Is someone here still looking for the BF Milwaukee 15pc Hole Saw Kit? I bought one when it was $40 and then one when it dropped to $32. Someone tried to hide it behind the 13pc set that is $80.

My store seems to be similar. I haven't been watching all the penny items but it seems that things stay on the other clearance levels forever. And when they do they seem to get pulled immediately. Or they will charge more than a penny. They will mark out the barcode and write in a price and sku. So usually I'll bite when it hits the .03 level. But again maybe there is a shark that nabs everything as soon as its gets marked but I have not seen anything on craigslist so I doubt that.

Are the fans seasonal? The employees told me they cleared all the fans in October since they do not sell fans in the winter

Then I went to a store tonight that I hadn't been at in a while. Walked in, went straight to the manager and asked if he had any penny items for me. He says "I was hoping you would come, haven't seen you in a while. Matter of fact we pulled it all for you the other day, we have two flat carts of stuff, enjoy!"

Wow. Just wow. I see at my store they lock all the seasonal stuff like that in the garden centre for the winter and no one can touch it.

How in the world did you become "cool"with the manager? Lol I would like to ask the managers if they gift penny items but idk if I would get on his bad side lol..I've never spoken to the manager at my local HD.
