No clue what the douche employee did with them...this store is the worst when locating No Home stuff. They all seem to think that if it's marked as clearance and not in the clearance rack then they don't have it...then when I find it they just looked clueless. Sad really...

They are tough on penny items though. Almost a waste of effort. Guess management considers it easier to be dicks to customers than proactively manage inventory :dunno:

Sounds like one of my area stores.

Went to my local store last night because they said they had 52 of the Dewalt tape measure combos - SKU 1001230352, for $6.22. Couldn't find them... Asked the guys manning the tool department and they said if it's not with the other tape measures, they don't have it. Then they tried to sell me on a Stanley combo.
Didn't want to be a ****, but 52 seems like a large number to be off, so I went to customer service and asked for the MOD. He came out and was very friendly. Helped me look for a few minutes and then called the store manager at home and asked if he knew where they were. Store manager said they were out. The MOD then walked me over to the tape measure display, picked out the Dewalt 25' ($24.97) and the 16' ($19.97) and said he'll give them to me for that price. Went to checkout, paid $6 for both tapes and bought my other full price stuff that I needed.

Someone's stashing a box or two of those tape measures, but overall I have to hand it to them for the MOD's customer service. He could've said tough luck and sent me on my way, but tried to make it right.

On another note, they also showed qty 5 of the Makita XT257M brushless combo for $190 (SKU 1000237533). Also a qty 1 of the M18 XC combo for $150 (SKU 602669). Couldn't find either, but I'll have to dig for those another day...

Found the stash of black friday stuff today, buried under all the christmas stuff that is on clearance now. They finally started clearance on the bbq and lawnmower stuff but most of the stock is hidden in the locked garden centre. Its unheated and open to the outside, I can see the cases of roundup etc that are all gonna freeze this winter but I can't get in there.

So are you still going through self checkout and scanning quickly or go to a register and just hold your ground? I almost always do self checkout if possible but I've had to "fight" for some items as well. Since calling corporate and being told they don't have to sell the items at a penny ifI don't need it it's not worth the hassle on certain things.

Two Pfister Lindosa faucets for a penny each. Also spotted a recon echo blower they wouldn't budge on.

Found an M12 cordless caulk gun in Manchester. Scanned up not found, so I walked away and had customer service call the manager over. I explained to him that since it was not found its the manager's discretion. He was nice. He wanted to charge $90 for it. I passed. 2441-20 I think was the model number.

So instead, I went back to SCO and scanned these for a penny each. 3 more Temp2o's and some General thinggy.

Picked up a Dyson animal 40 for $82, there are other models...

Got a home lite Honda pressure washer... $29.00. Buried up on the rafters. Fired right up!

Looks like the Ryobi one 12" trimmers dropped to a penny at a bunch of places I looked.

Husky work light?

Sitting right in the aisle, in a display with a bunch of other shelving items. Wasn't even hidden. Only reason I stopped was because the sticker caught my eye.

I got a temp2o shower kit, 1 of the brita bottle sets and 2 hose reels all pennies. I spotted 2 boxes of the paint brushes at another store but i need to use 1 of the yellow customer use ladders to get them down and didnt have 1 near by. I was planning on getting 2 satori faucets, 2 more temp2os, and 2 of the Lindosas that I spotted yesterday and were still .03 status. All were a penny today but when I got to the store the lindosa faucets were gone.

The satori and temp2os were in top stock so I found an older gentleman that never scans anything to get the Satori faucets down. As he was bringing them down and before I could get my hands on them the department employee comes around the corner and grabs the faucet and scans it then proceeds to give me some BS about them being recalled due to the aerator filter and some other made up **** and then tells me I can buy the new ones online. Even though I saw it scan at a penny and the day before someone looked up the sku and showed me that it was $63.

Not much I could do since they were in top stock and I never actually physically had them in hand. I didnt have them grab the temp2os so i might go back and try to get those later.

Hey guys, I've read these threads about every other day for the past six months, and I still haven't seen it stated how one identifies the penny deals. Can someone pm me the details? Much appreciated and merry christmas!

Well I'm pretty sure if you find SPN's posts here he has links in his signature with a LOT of information on this stuff.

In a nutshell you look for items that are priced at *.03 or *.02 and usually a few weeks later they will ring up as a penny, that is if the employees have not pulled them. Some stores are VERY good at pulling penny items, others are not. It just depends how long an employee looks for an item that is about to be pennied out before he moves onto the next one.

Find a computer in the store designed for customers to search on Home Depots website and locate the "Price Check App" under the "Public Use" section of the home screen. If the sku comes up not found it is likely a penny. Sometimes they will actually show up as a penny on the screen as well.

Rarely will you find penny items on the clearance endcaps in the center of the store but it can happen.

A penny deal is not gonna fall into your lap guys. It's gonna require some effort. If you can't find out how to search for one within this thread( don't think it's gone more than 48 hours without penny explanation the whole year) your chances are slim to none to find one in the store. Too many folks putting in some sweat equity to grab them up.

More "sweat equity" than the employees who are tasked with removing old inventory . . . of course there's the reward of finding a deal. Plus it really is a skill being able to find the stuff.

Also another big factor is your location. Some stores/locations are very laid back while others are over the top.

I don't know how you're finding those husky cabinets for a penny. They're all still $100+ here in Ohio.

if it does do you pick delivery or pickup option? ( I wonder if it adjusts the price based on your location )

Thanks
