^^^What's Public, I just installed the app, can't find such an option? :confused:

What has happened with Home Depot? They are the ones that encourage usto go and out search for penny items. It's not our fault that they have such a inventory system in place. They know that very well.

The price check app is only available in-store on their computers.

My question is if anyone in SE Michigan have had any success? Detroit and surrounding cities? Seems to me all of the stores around here that I've been to have their A-game on when it comes to inventory.

Yeah there's always a few bad ones out there. 99% of the time there's no problem with computer use.

My local HD has removed all computers for customer use! I asked about using the one at customer service that used to face out and was told that was for job applications only. Hopefully the HD by work doesn't do the same!

Which one did this? I see you are from the same area as me ?

This pissed me off so I point to the word PUBLIC again and tell him that says public and that's what I am...The public! These apps are for customer use.

I tried that while using a terminal in electrical after an associate told me that the computers were for associates only. His response was, "It's marked public for us... The employees." I asked where the publicly accessible computers were located and he said that they didn't have any but that the customer service would be glad to help me out with anything that I needed.

Just before I walked away, I asked how could someone without Internet access fill out an application to work at this particular Home Depot if they didn't have any computers available to the public? He didn't really know how to respond, but another associate that was standing a few feet away said that people without Internet access had to go use the computers at the nearest public library to fill out an application. The guy that I was originally talking with quickly agreed with this statement.

Don't like it, talk to your manager.

That's what I say. By the time they go crying to the manager I'm usually done anyway.

Yep, this is exactly what I tell them. Done this maybe 6 times and I've yet to actually have a manager even come over. Most of the time the employee just storms off all butthurt.

Been reading this off and on for 6 months, still not sure how u know exact day something pennies out that is listed as a $x.03. Only way to price check is the public app or self checkout price checker?

About only things I can see myself paying last clearance for is a big husky tool chest, 60 gallon compressor. maybe a welder or lawn tractor.

SO MUCH more stuff is worth last clearance price than that, that is if you are a reseller at all.. It seems many times being a reseller is a nasty thing and frowned on. But I take pride in being one..Somebodies got to do it. Selling "stuff" I may not want or need allows me to buy and get things I REALLY WANT and do need! Greatest ex. is those Dewalt tool chests. Had been scoping Huskies for a few yrs,then discovered this way of shopping home depot, now boom!! Got me 2 Dewalts in the garage essentially for free!!

This. Making some extra cash is cool but I honestly do it primarily for fun. :rocker: I keep very little of what I find and just enjoy the chase.

Same here. I keep very little of it because I'm at the point where I don't really need much at all.

I've been spending a bit of my eBay profits though, as some of you may notice if you follow the eBay thread.

Just got a full SAE and metric SK wrench set, started (and nearly finished) a Channellock Pro screwdriver set (hook+pick set, torx, precision torx, precision screwdrivers, just need the 10 piece screwdriver set), as well as feeding my USA ratchet addiction.

I think the penny deal days are limited. Yesterday, I jumped on a computer at an HD I frequent. They still have several 14 and 16 Homelite chain saws on the shelf at full price--I need one for my rental property. Last week, I had no issue using the PCA at this store--same terminal even. Yesterday, the PCA pulled up but listed "no items found" for any search I tried. Found a penny Ryobi hedge trimmer I needed on an upper shelf--out of box. Scanned at PCO, and it immediately popped up "wait for attendant." She then called the assistant manager to the front. The assistant manager was pissed when I quoted corporate policy, and never gave me the opportunity to buy at last clearance price--he wanted to sell it to me for last sticker sales price--$79.99 from 1/2016. He called the store manager and I got it for a penny but it was ugly and I felt dirty.

Point of the story is it appears they are closing the public PCA loophole, and flagging penny items at SCO.

I experienced the no items found at one store twice in the past week. One guy said it didn't work on their phones either. Other locations PCA works great...

Penny. Got caught in self checkout trying to scan the cut out barcode. I knew I should have knocked over a flowerpot.

So did they give it to you last clearance price, penny, or denied?

Spn is decoding the system, Yes! :beer:

as far as i'm concerned, as long as the SCO will allow you to buy penny items, there is NO WAY they can tell you they can't sell penny items. Store policy, corporate policy, whatever.

All it takes is one programming statement to stop the transaction.

If (price == 0.01) {
transaction.stop = true;
}

In other words, the stores have no leg to stand on if they tell you they can't sell penny items. Corporate could have had all of these SCO's patched at any point in time but haven't, so apparently they don't give a **** about selling penny items.

Last clearance. Still working that out though, I don't think they can deny you the sale. A quick call to corporate and you'll certainly get last clearance. Penny is a bit tougher and heavily dependent on the stores management.

I thought she was occupied, then out of nowhere like a damn ninja she was in my business. I was one button away from glory.

Ive had one store refuse to sell me a penny item, (pegboard kit) , just bought 2 penny knock out kits at one store in 2 different transactions, cashier noticed the first asked me if there were more then told me to go get the other. It all depends on the store. store in walled lake michigan I dont even bother manager is cool as hell and explained that they get in trouble for letting them get rung up. we just work a deal on the lot and he gives a generic SKU for the lot

Where in the store are you guys finding the knockout kits?

I could swear I saw them at my stores previously but now they are nowhere to be found in the electrical tools area. Wondering if Im missing them or if they just happen to be gone completely.

ive never found one on a hook, they are always in the overhead, (probably why they didnt sell) usually locked in a metal cage 99% of stores use either the store number or DEPT number for the combination

most were moved to the clearance endcaps, but they should be with the multimeters (right above in the overhead).

I'm a regular customer at my HD. I wonder their reaction will be when I scan a penny item at checkout. Will they be ultra-nice or The Hulk? :lol:

Scan, drop penny, wait for receipt. There's no button to push.

I was unaware of this which could have been beneficial. It was funny to see the stage 9 panic that spread across the registers. On second thought. While she was away I should have scanned it again and walked out lol.

Corporate, though I have only called twice for a penny item (including this one) has given varying responses. The other time I called was last week when another lucky rather large value penny item escaped me at the register. Called Corporate and they said you find it you buy it for a penny. So I called this time and they said you have to pay last clearance that's the corporate policy as of January 2016.

So I don't know if it's the person you get or the value of the item, but know that calling Corporate should only be used as a last resort for higher value items. And before anyone gets on my **** for calling, I don't care.

They're in the electrical tools section near the multimeters, either down on the bottom or in a cage. Or, at this point, probably in the overhead.

You don't have to push the pay now and cash buttons? I always push them just in case, wasn't sure if I need to or not.

wear some air buds and pretend to be listening to music, ignore her and finish your transaction, then acknowledge her. It'd be too late for her.

what are the skus on those chests? I was looking at what seems like the exact same thing but they are like $300 for the bottom and $250 for the top. Not sure if it is the same just difference in clearance or an older model. Any easy way to spot the difference in the rafters?
