Pennies. 4 stores, South Jersey.

First ever temp2o find around here got taken before I could get to the register. And found one of the older Schlage touch locks, got to the SCO and there was no barcode, they ripped it off apparently. Oh well

Saw this deal tonight. Not too shabby.

Also picked up a 7" Ridgid tile blade for a penny. The store manager just gave it to me.

I bit on the Dewalt DW745 at that price.

Of course, I've got to think now..

Anyone have any input on whether or not it'd be worth it to attempt to grab the Bosch?

Anyone with 8" tile saw blades what to part with two of them? I need one and a spare for my saw and can not find them in stock near me.

Darn, I thought I was having a good week with figuring out the chamberlains went penny. Then I see you guys pick one up here, three there, like 10 rigid blades and I can only wonder how crappy of an inventory job your local store do. Maybe I will take a trip towards the city this weekend and see if I can clear house.

Even the good stores have penny Ridgid blades. The tile cutting area has perfect cubbyholes to store the blades so that the older blades can be stacked under the new blades. Its like taking candy from a baby.

Are all of the Ridgid tile blades a penny or just certain SKU's?

Go back a page. Basically, if they are black they are penny. Usually they are on the bottom of the stack as stated above. Don't forget to check in the back of the display, I found a bunch that were left back there.

I found 2 at one HD location and went to the SCO and they rang up full price. All the others stores I found them at, they were a penny each.

Not sure what was up with that store.

Unless you need to use a Dado the dw745 is better. Tons of comparison reviews on the net.

Just certain SKUs. 7, 8 and 10 inch.

Search back a few pages and you should see the SKUs for all 3.

Thanks. Don't know how I missed that but I did find them back a few pages.
I have NEVER found a penny deal at my HD. We only have one store. The next HD is 40 miles away

I picked up a DW745 before Xmas and am very happy with it. Very light and easy to move around. For the $299 I paid, I can't complain.

I don't know how some of you guys get carts full of penny items. It amazes me the variation in responses to penny items by the employees.

I was at a store yesterday that I have bought penny items at before and even had a conversation with an employee about penny items when I stupidly asked him to pull down a schlage lock that I could have grabbed with the yellow ladder and he scanned it and said 'i cant sell it its a penny', he then went on to say that if I had grabbed it my self they would have to sell it.

So yesterday I noticed that they had the 25lb bags of bayer insect killer outside in the garden area with the full price tag so I checked the system and sure enough it was a penny. So I loaded a few in a cart and went to self check out. The attendant scanned the bags and said 'its your lucky day'. I acted dumb and asked what she meant and she explained that if its a penny they have to sell it. On my way out I noticed that she didn't even reprint the receipt to go and pull the rest of them.

Today I went back to see if they removed the rest or not and they had not, I also saw the Corona 7in folding saw with a full price tag despite seeing a clearance tag a week or so ago so I checked that as well and it was a penny but said 0 in stock, the stand had 10+ in stock. I grabbed a few more bags and all the corona saws and went to checkout. They scanned everything and called the manager and said they couldn't sell them I asked for the manager and he said the same adding that the vendor is buying back the product, but then they offered to do the last clearance price.

I don't get how some employees seem to know the policy and others don't, or they choose to do the opposite. Its like they have their own agenda and deliberately go against policy.

Anyways I guess I will stick to only buying 1 to 2 penny items at a time through self check out since my trusted stores cant seem to get on the same page

It is hard to tell how they will react. What area are you in?

Is it me or does it seem like the folks in the north eastern part of the country have the best luck on penny deals. :dunno:

I have to put up a fight about 50% of the time. 49% they didn't notice I scanned pennies. 1% say nice deal without even questioning it.

I have no problem finding them....at full price!

Story of my life thus far. See folks getting deals like the Schlage locks, look them up and they are still full price at the 10+ HD stores in my area.

I paid 53.03 for those locks, but it was damn well worth it and I had to hunt for them. 50% of the stores they aren't clearance or they aren't on that Low of a cut yet. It gets complicated trying to remember who had what in which store at what price...

This is always my goal.. don't let them notice. If I come across a penny deal when the store is slow, I stash it until Saturday afternoon when self-checkout is slammed. Hang around until you notice the worker is helping a customer, then strike!
