I knew I was going to get sh*t from you guys. My point was just asking for a little more clarity. The gut that posts a picture of a bunch of different items in the overhead and says 99.00. Someone new coming on here hasn't got a clue which item he's referring to. I'm not asking to be spoon fed. Home Depot can be a jumbled mess when your trying to look for items way up in the rafters. I do read thru the postings, unless your real savvy, like most of you guys are, it doesn't make it easy for guys just starting out. Hey, you were all once a beginner too!
Quote from post #3
I want to try to make it easier for the people who are seeing these deals for the first time and don't know how everything works. If anyone else has any new info to add about clearance items let me know and I will add it to the first post. Thanks

I knew exactly what item in the rafters he was looking at.

You're right, I was a newb at one point, but I figured it out without asking stupid questions. If someone new hasn't figured it out yet, the haven't done enough reading.

Back to the rafter example, all they would have to do is scroll back a page or so and they would have found their answer.

Just my .02. Which can be worth a lot sometimes ;)

Hello Spn
When you find a really old product that should be a penny, but won't ring up. What do you do to get it?

Depends on the manager. Some say Merry Christmas while others look it up online and try and sell it for that price.

This. I got roped in last summer, and I've put in lots of time reading through every page that was recent enough to matter to figure this out. It's not hard by any means, you just have to pound pavement on a regular basis to get good at finding stuff.

Also this. I've not come across a manager that gave me the items not in the system. One wouldn't budge from full online price for a shower and tub faucet, and the other gave four door handles to me for $5 each.

I am at 50% haha. Did it with an old Pegasus faucet and they told me to take it, then tried with newer Pfister faucets and they tried to sell them for online price.

If anyone has a port-a-torch, I'll make it worth your while to ship. PM me please.

I was out of town last week for work in NYC and my local store hit 75.03 while I was gone. All 4 were nowhere to be found when I checked Friday night...bummer.

Not penny items, but two local stores have reductions on some holiday items still in stock.

The Milwaukee fast backs are normally $10 each, down to $7 for two.

The Husky bag isn't a bad deal for $10, I purchased one for $17 or so about 6 months back and its pretty handy and this comes with two bags.

One thing I noticed about the cheaper fastbacks just to keep in mind, there's no spare blade holder like the other one I have. Their just a blade with the quick in /out. My other one has a entire replacement blade in the handle.

I had one with the blade holder but lost it, figured two for half the price of one, I can live without the holder.

Don't have the old model SKU right now, but yes there is a new model out. I about pissed my pants when I saw a stack of 8 B&D 20v trimmers, just to find out they are new models. The boxes for the new models are all colorful.

like everyone else said, if the item comes up as "item not found" at the self-checkout, then the item is not in their system. According to corporate, they are NOT supposed to sell it. However, it is the Manager's discretion whether he wants to sell it or not, give it free, trash it, or sell it full price.

The only advice I can give is ask to speak to the store manager (not a MOD) and be as nice as you can. If he comes over with a pissy attitude, you're wasting your time. If he seems to be in a good mood, be very nice and say something like "well, this item isn't in your system.. would you take a few bucks for it under a clearance SKU?"

Don't bother calling corporate on these, they won't help you.

double thanks to you there; i found a milwaukee heated hoodie that rang up as item not found yesterday. somebody wrote $149 all over it and the sco girl wouldnt budge on it. maybe someone else can find one.

i also noticed a bunch of those stick-on command brand hook things on sale. some down to $3 from $20. the descriptions on the box were geared toward christmas ie. wreath hook, christmas light hooks, etc.

a couple stores were also swarmed with with some sort of corporate < ?> inventory ppl who were pulling big appliances out of nowhere and then they would show up in the front of the store with big reductions.. fridges, countertops, ovens, microwaves, vanities, etc definitely ymmv on those.

is anyone following generac generators? i see them at .00 levels here but they are still like $2k+... i have never priced them out but are those on sale? there was also a generac pressure washer that popped up too.. it was like $19 < ! > but oos.

oh and i believe it has been reported that the husky racing jack is coming down.. i saw someone post $19, i only saw it for $35. the 3ton jack is pennied out in some stores, but full price in others.

oh and i saw flashing tape for door jambs.. i believe that was at .03 level

Picked up a few penny items and some of the clearance Bosch laser stuff. I passed on several of the Bosch 16ft Aluminum level (GR16) at $13.03 as they would be a pain to ship. I also passed on a few other Bosch items with damaged boxes.

The last store I went to said it had one of the 175mph Backpack Blowers (SKU 84492) in stock for a penny but I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. :wtf:

if you don't mind can you post the item or sku # on the darker colored door handles? I really need to find 6 or them for bath/bedroom and 5 hallway ones with no locks.

I've got a couple of different styles that are aged bronze if you're interested.

Found some display model Lincoln welders for a penny. They were up in the rafters. One of them looked like it was gutted, but the other (Weld Pak 125) had the ground clamp, power cord, and gun attached. However, the case looked damaged. Do I simply ask an associate to grab one for me or do I have to talk to a manager?

I don't expect you will have much luck buying those.

You can try talking to a manger but those are DNI and they will likely claim they are non-working displays.

You have nothing to lose though.

I was at HD on Saturday. I searched Bosch for the lasers but didn't look for the saw. I know there is a new lower price tag on it but at $350.

Ah ok. I'll give it a shot. Do they usually throw those out or what?

Likely, not sure. They may also be provided by the manufacturer.

I'd almost rather have a box one when it comes down in price than going for a display that it's probably missing stuff. You know how much they probably care about those when they put them up or take them down. I'd assume it would be pretty tough and that since its out of the box their going to be suspicious and check the price.

Bosch range finders dropped this week again. I cannot for life of me find them though. All the local stores have inventory (when they were $38.03) and after spending hours looking asked some associates at different store and the first thing out each one's mouth was Huh must've been stolen. One store was missing 3 units.

Husky boxes dropped. Not nearly as sweet of a deal as the gladiator boxes I got this weekend but incase anyone needs. This is 99$ off, MSRP is 288.

38 bucks for mine. Just found it behind the display sign. This is the only model I have seen in the app on clearance. Think the other models will be clearanced soon?

Also some Bosch spade bits for $3.82.

On the lasers the older glm40 gets much better reviews than glr225 except fire the range distance.

The glm40 has a backlight.

Just FYI if you get both and want to sell one.

Anybody try both?

Found my first penny item. It wouldn't ring up on the self checkout. Kept giving me a error of "see sales associate". So I went to a cash register and it rung up a penny. The mod would not sell it to me so I had to call corporate as I really needed the item. Called corporate and they spoke to the store manager and let me go with the Bosch gms120. Sku is 235-338. U probably won't be able to find it in the computer though.

Is that the only gripe? I was going to sell the 40 and keep the 225 for the added length.

They both have real life distances less than advertised.

People bitched about the buttons on the glr225 for some reason. They said they felt like they would break but no one said they broke.

I also have both and will probably keep both.

Why are they 19.00?
