Husky 1-1/2 ton jacks down $5

Now interestingly, I was confronted tonight at my local store. Told I'm not supposed to be on store computers and they will not let me penny shop. I was actually clearance shopping. They also informed me there will be a new inventory system and pricing structure in the next few weeks being rolled out. This kind of explains the pricing I'm seeing this week.

These went from ~30 to 15 instead of 10 like everywhere else.

This socket set from ~10 to 5

Lastly, as a screw you to the assistant store manager I went and pulled a penny item and walked over the CS counter where she was with a few other associates and informed her if I wanted to penny shop I could and she couldn't stop me. It was only two watts copper hot water heater lines but it drove the point home. It only makes me want to shop more as HD and Lowes drove out all local lumber yards and hardware stores.

That last part about the local shops. That's kinda how I feel. Good for you man. I can't buy a straight door to save my life and the manager tells me well that's what we sell so buy it or leave it. So now I make it a priority to hit that store as often as possible and it's been quite prosperous. [emoji12]

Don't always believe the price tag. These Gerbers were tagged $28.06 on the peg up along with the other multi tools...3 pennies. UPC 013658142640

The Sharkbite was mixed in with others. Easy to spot as the ends thread onto the body. 1 penny UPC 697285244320

That line about you can't use the computers is complete bs! My ones at my home depot are set up to let customers use the computers.

That **** pisses me off big time when it happens. Asked a lady at the Pro Desk yesterday if I can lookup a price on the computer real quick and she had a confused look on her face and said no, customers can't use the computers. She said perhaps the customer service counter would "let me". Went back to Appliances and the CSR back there said have at it and lookup whatever you need to.

They are either doing it because they know what we are up to and know we are looking up penny and clearance deals or they are just being a-holes!

Hey. Registered here after being linked from a truck forum I frequent. Think you guys got me hooked. Went to my local home depot to look for some deals. Only think I came away with was this: uploadfromtaptalk1454389504814.jpg. Got it for $19 which isn't bad there was another Bosch laser leven marked N/H which I assume means no home but it was only marked down a few bucks. Also thought I scored a garage door opener but .01 but apparently is was the wrong one :( uploadfromtaptalk1454389612792.jpg

I think your probably looking for the one that says bonus. HD520EVG. Got 2 at the 42.02 price, but whatever. No pennies here yet.

got a gerber like that, but maybe smaller from menards.. it was barely even worth a penny! the 'knife' was just a dull sliver of metal

I forget which store this was at. Somewhere in Mass. When I punched in the SKU, it came up not found, so it could have either been a penny or not in their inventory. I didn't bother pulling it off the shelf since it wouldn't fit in my car anyway.

scored a similar one today for 75% off... just an fyi to others that they might be out there in some areas. the store in question had corp inventory ppl running around pulling old stuff <especially large items> into the main aisle up front and then slapped big discounts on them in the 50-90% range.

and fwiw, i think thats some kind of specialized clearance sku, not the original sku. my product is diff, but it has that same sticker and sku on it.

Hello
Is there a certain time the .03 items drop to one cent? Or dose it happen when the store opens or after corporate opens?

This new pricing is interesting. The Bosch should have gone to a penny, not $19.
Maybe HD is starting to have more clearance prices in an attempt to get rid of the stuff before it reaches penny status?

i.e. 38.03 to 19.00 then to penny, or maybe to another .03 price then to penny, who knows...

This could make things a little trickier.

Could be.

What made me wonder is the Ryobi radio/charger deal from BF. I forget the exact price but it definitely wasnt 04/02 or 06/03

I noticed the same thing over the weekend. An HD employee was pushing a cart with the huge husky duffle bags and she mentioned to someone that they were all penny items. I just looked at the tag and it went from 69.99 to 66.00.

That's what I think happened to all the Watts valves 98 to 68 down to 28.03 then down to 7.00 then to a penny. I'm fine with 7.00 that's a great price.

While pennies are nice, I rather have most things drop like they have been doing wheres it's less than 10% if the cost of new. You can still make a good profit and don't have to worry about any BS at checkout. I still love me some penny deals tho.

True.

I find myself buying things that I want to keep at the .03/.02 levels.

Honestly havent made much profit on any of the things Ive bought on clearance....CL seems picky/dead around my area.

I have had success selling the DeWalt sawzalls and DeWalt ToughBoxes, but everything else gets the occasional "do you still have it" and then no response.

Could it be that they are on to us?

That would stink, although Id get back some free time instead of spending it wandering the aisles of HD!

Yeah I have been spending way too much time at Home Depot the last few days. But I am hooked. I don't really get any penny deals but just looking for clearance items that I need
