Just looked at last years thread and there were only 11 pages by the end of January, this year 111. I think interest has a peaked a little.

i think theres a potential problem with that; this whole thread should be on SD or similar. probably getting too much exposure from ppl who think that hd selling something for .03 level or a penny in lieu of throwing it in a trash compactor is < miraculously > the driving factor behind elevated prices on light bulbs

Frankly they are junk. If you only care about doing stuff for you and the wife of a pork **** here and there make a weber mini WSM (google it. Minimal work and can be done for under $75)

Fighting a crappy smoker is a sure fire way for you to not smoke food the next weekend.

I think there is too much abuse shown in public forums. Home Depot is said to adjust their pricing structure. I never went out of my way to get penny deals, always look out for .06/.03 for my fixer-upper. I hope there will continue to be a "clear" structure in the future. Personally I believe penny penny deals are unethical. It's the equivalent to stealing.

I only use the terminals at pro desk at night when no one is there. People there know me because I buy a lot from Pro Desk. They even hold clearance items for me.

Lowe's clearance items are much much more difficult to get, and they are generally not as good as HD.

Buying an item off of a shelf that rings up cheaper than the tag on it is tantamount to stealing? If you're preaching holier than thou ethics, I'm sure everyone in the thread that has found penny items could send you their HD store location and you can pay the difference.....No? Didn't think so. There's nothing unethical about finding a unicorn. Get over yourself.

Too many people asking for penny deals or too lazy to scroll back a few posts back. I don't hunt for penny deals, but if I find one then it is a good day for me. I have job that takes way too much of my free time. Wish I had more free time.

Can we keep this discussion on deals and not on your superior morality.

Thanks

I don't know about stealing if you are using it for yourself but when half you guys buy all of the stock for a penny to turn around and sell it for a crazy profit its kinda a ******** move if you ask me.

Since this has no bearing to any deals and is just your personal belief id prefer you keep your opinion to yourself or open a new discussion thread under the appropriate category. Thanks

In some states it is actually a crime for a store to charge more than what the item rings up for. So when an item rings up for a penny and a manager changes it to the last clearance price that in itself is a crime, they could be fined and even serve jail time. That is why they have a corporate policy.

... Because buying it for a penny is less of a crime than throwing it into the compactor.

Don't get me wrong guys, I am all for it if you found an item labled $0.01 on a yellow tag, and it is within your reach, especially if you actually use it. I think it goes too far when people are cleaning out the penny items within 50 miles radius of their home. Grabbing things from overhead bin where employees specifically stored out of customer's reach. Buying penny items for resale is unethical imho. When you have to make sure the SCO lady is distracted before scanning a penny item, then there is something wrong in your action.

I know for sure there is someone hiding things inside my local home depot. How do I know? I am there almost everyday for work and home. I see the work and I just laugh and shake my head. It's sad when an 0.03 item could be purchased by someone in need, but instead it is hidden elsewhere by greed.

by the way I don't feel bad expressing my opinion in this thread, this thread is littered with useless posts anyway. Trying to look for deals in this thread is extremely difficult.

How is only selling penny items for profit not ethical? You are saying then that selling something that was purchased for **.03 or **.06 for profit is OK?

By that logic, is HD being unethical for buying things at their cost then selling for probably double the profit?

"Us guys?" I've never found a penny deal yet in the one store in my city.

It's a free market; you'd do the same thing the rest of the guys do if you found them.

You know what's even more difficult? Having a person with only 15 posts that has used 2 of them so far to tell everyone in a thread where they've gone wrong in life using themselves as the benchmark for excellency and haven't even contributed a single useful post to a thread where they are mocking people and at the same time complaining that they can't find deals in said thread that they've contributed nothing of substance to, ever.

You should do HD a service and purchase all the hidden items you find, or at least let them know what you are seeing. By not telling them, you are practically condoning hiding items.

You took the time to type that you've never "went out of your way" to get penny deals, when it would have been easier to type that you never buy penny deals, unless that would have been a lie, and you steal from HD whenever you just happen to stumble across a penny deal. Funny

Quarry lights are down to a penny. The mt1-22 ladders are completely out of the system here in KC. Also, the 205pc tool kits are $80 here, not 65$.

Check your local stores I came across this mark down. But when I found stores that had them still in stock they rang up $399 still. Keep your eyes on these.

Where? Looking for a new one?

(this was in response to the hot water heater posted a few pages back)

do a search in the in store price check app for "Rheem" - there are actually quite a few models on clearance at similar pricing, but I could not find any local stock. I will probably replace mine if I can pick one up at this price.

Anyone know when the brinkmann's are supposed to drop again? Looking for one of the 69$ smokers but if I can pick it up at ~30 or so the wife can't argue.

the design of those smokers seems bad. If you needed to open the door to add wood/charcoal it seems like you would lose nearly all the heat. Has anyone tried one?

The original Side Socket is on clearance for 3.33 now
upc is 740275011836
Be warned, these things are flimsy and pull out of the wall socket easily. But still handy for overloading your sockets.

I did the search"Rheem" nothing available in my area. Everything comes zero. Figured it was near by.
