You know I just stood there and listened to an employee brag about how he took a penny away from someone that wanted to buy it at full price even, and then said I'll buy that tonight. And proceeded to disclose how much stuff he's hiding.

... I made a detailed mental note.

Why you wouldn't *GASP* think of finding his secret stash would you? :bounce:

The zwave alarm sensor was still at 99 bucks. I am going to cry if I can find some of the stuff you guys find for the prices you are posting. I go to two different stores. Pretty much everything mentioned here is on a shelf but none of them have and 03 or 06 price. The schalge digital /electronic deadbolt is still 199.
I can't seem to get access to a computer. I am in pretty good with a guy in hardware, but when I am hesitant to mention I'm on a hunt for penny items. I did mention the Paslode nailer and he said you got lucky! Those things work great , btw

I'm going to make another pass at getting access to a computer. Can someone tell me the name of the thread that has the directions for searching? Edit - looks like I need to read the 2015 thread.

I found another Maverick HD377 (I think) and it scanned at a penny. I started paying but they stopped the transaction. The guy came over and grabbed it and said they couldn't sell it. I pressed him for a reason and he said it was recalled...yeah right!. Anyway, I'm tired of them making up every excuse in the book so I asked to see the manager. They talked to someone on the phone and "let" me have it on a clearance sku for $5. I would have left it, but I know someone who would appreciate having one. If not, I would just return it with the receipt for the one I paid $10.03 for.

Most of the clearance stuff in my area does not have a yellow clearance sticker on it! If you didn't look up the SKU on the PCA or just happened to be buying the item and it scanned at the 03/06 price you would have not idea it was on sale/clearance. THIS is why I have no issue picking stuff up for a penny. For God's sake! At least let the customers actually know something is on sale. Perhaps than it would get sold before even reaching penny status!

Holy hell! Do not "mention" to the guy you're looking for penny items! Tell him you're looking for something and want to see if another store has it in stock.

They took it from me. Said it was on recall. Whatever. [emoji375]

Had same thing happen to me 2ish weeks ago. Yellow sticker $13.03...brought up to SCO and msg pops up on screen that it is recalled. Why they didn't catch it when someone put the .03 sticker on is beyond me. I looked into it online and found that they were recalled...way back last April. No wonder HD got in hot water for selling recalled items a bit ago. No clue what they have on hand.

The "can't sell this, its been recalled" excuse won't fly with me anymore unless that message pops up on-screen.

I am so pissed right now i wanted the port-a-torch i saw a ton of stock throughout my stores so i thought i had till pay day but the one i knew had the clearance price just sold it for $75 and the other ones i called that had them in stock are all $300 dollars? Is there a way i can get a store to price match the clearance price store or buy it at full price and do a return re-buy?

Buy it at the store that has it in stock then take it to the store where it is $75 and tell the cashier it's now on sale and you would like to return it and rebuy at the sale price.

Would that work or will they figure out what i am doing? The manager saw me tonight and i asked her and she said she sold the last one so she knows i didn't buy one from her store!

I wonder how many people are hitting south nj stores.. Last night 3 stores showed plenty of stock for the 200pc tool kits, today 3 different stores sold out when they had about 40 on hand between them..

I took the damn display, guess they missed that one or maybe it was the fact it was screwed down with a chunk of wood holding the drawers open lol. Lots of other things I was waiting to drop seemed to have disappeared tonight also. Found some deals over at lowes though that they didn't have on the stores website for some reason.

I did the return rebuy with the Bosch GLR225 laser ranger finders. My store had it a $19 but none in stock. Bought one at another store for $108 and return/rebuy

Guys, when someone starts spouting ****, just report them. Ignore all comments, don't quote them, don't try and argue with them. The mods are great and quick.

I go here and there, but most of these buying must be employees. Look at craigslist and you will see plenty listings.

Wow so the switch will work? I was thinking about that earlier when I ran into the nailer deal. Might be worth a try.

No it popped up on the checkout screen. But he was gonna let me slide with it free and the security guard ACTUALLY checked my receipt. I suppose he was alerted by the $1.00 Behr garage floor kits, and got all suspicious. But it did come up

I've seen a TON of Philly stores ransacked by employees. And I can tell because it's dumb ******** I would never buy that's a penny. Port Richmond really pissed me off I've been hitting that store pretty hard and I encourage you call to join me.

Had the same thing happen to me back in December. Found the Hub and when I scanned it it came up a penny. When I tried to add it to my cart got the "See Attendant" message. When young lady scanned the barcode she got a message on her machine advising "that this product has been recalled and must be returned to the manufacturer immediately". I tried to fight it with both Customer Service and the MOD, but they would not relinquish same. I gave up, but did get a Chamberlin 220 GDO for $28 that night so I guess the night wasn't a total loss.

I'm not sure most of it would have dropped further if it where employees. That was a lot of kits to sell in one day also lol. I went from lawnside to deptford to washing township since I had to drive past them anyway. Was only looking for 1 200pc kit so it worked out I guess lol.

Did find another milewaukee $99 black Friday drill tucked away in one of those stores. Left it there though since I got one last night. No luck finding door handles in any of them and that's the only thing else I was looking for. Tried to scan for the cheap generators also but no luck,, doubt I will find one of them.

If anyone comes across an extra Moen Haysfield kitchen faucet I will take it off your hands. Ive been watching that one for a while at my local stores and now that it finally dropped below $100, they are all gone! Any help would be appreciated!
