Just a heads up that the new pricing model might be starting to roll out?

My dad was in the market for a small portable air compressor, we live 2 miles from each other and have the same home store. I spotted a pile of Husky compressors all with yellow $99 clearance stickers so I snapped a picture and sent it to him.

He got to the store the next day and every single one of them had yellow $169 clearance stickers on top of the old $99 clearance stickers. I find it hard to believe they would raise the clearance price on something unless they were rolling out their (rumored) change to the clearance pricing strategy.

Yea the nest cams went from 100 clearance back to 199 regular price at my store.

Yesterday's take. One watts valve was a penny (free), one sharkbite was a penny and the two locks were penny's.. At least until I made a rookie mistake and had too much **** to scan at once. Paid final clearance price, whatever.

Everything else was last clearance price except the varathane - kona - $1.00
Garage floor paint - $1.00
Epoxy shield - $10.00

That happened to me too this weekend not a rookie but made the mistake. The epoxy garage floor paint is 50 for the one car you have and 75 for the 2 1/2. not a big mark down down here.

Well, that was easy. Walked in and happened to see "Chris" and asked if he was the manager. He said yes and asked if I was the one that came in for the Paslode. He said, I've got it up at the SCO ready to go for you. He said it was no problem at all giving it to me for free.

Coolest manager I've come across. Too bad I didn't get a receipt as I'd have gave him some good feedback.

Hell yes. Gonna keep this one for myself dice it doesn't have a jacket. :D

Glad it worked out. That's how it should be.

That degreaser was $8 in my area as well. I think some stores just hired some lazy folks and they never set the clearance prices right, thus the items default to a penny. Not in my area it seems, the weekend rush is horrendous here, haha

Buying an item, returning it, and buying that same item again is not going to trigger the penny price to appear. It seems the local store computer and the central server somewhere else in the states need to be programmed to be constantly synchronized / updated for the prices to be kept up to date, otherwise that's where the penny deals occur. Its really all just fluke it seems. Will depend on the equipment and aptitude of each store. Thus, your mileage will vary.

If nobody's buying, really, they should just donate the supplies to a school for learning purposes, :D

Once in a blue moon Staples gives away 12 reams of paper (Over 6,000 sheets of paper) free to customers after mail in rebate. Now the 6,000 sheets of paper doesn't turn into confetti, does it? :p

Okay, I'm getting annoyed. I cannot, for the life of me, find any of the penny Schlage keypads. I've only been to (2) stores that even showed a single model that was a penny and of course they were nowhere to be seen.

Am I missing something on finding these bad boys?

1000-023-414 & 1001-073-704 are the only keypads I've ever seen on the PCA and applied to a single store only. I don't really need them but just found it odd that I never see the keypads for a penny.

Came across (2) Schlage Front Door sets in the Clearance end-cap today. They were model # F60 V GRW 619 BRW. They had the yellow tag on them below. I entered the UPC code on bottom of the box into the PCA and nothing came up. If I take these though SCO and scan the product UPC, are they simply going trigger the "see attendant" message?

Scan the UPC not the sticker

Sometimes if you scan the wrong UPC and the "see attendant" screen comes up, there's a button on the bottom left that says "back". Press that quick and try again

I was just in the Champaign IL store. They still had 3 tool carts, 5 racing jacks and a couple different tool boxes on clearance. They are still there.
I checked there yesterday. Comp showed a few 1 's in stock but were utl on them.

Some stores you go in and check the computer and that old lady working that lonely register near the pro desk comes over and asks you a bunch of questions. It's super annoying because not only do they think your doing something your not supposed to, but they usually tell the head cashier and your shot right off the bat. I don't know how to avoid this scenario lol. I have started using the mill work and appliance computers at those locations but your kinda out there in the open.

Does anyone know for sure HD policy is to allow customers to use those computers?

I was only bothered once using a public computer.

Just happened to me today, sort of.

One of my stores only has public computers in the appliance department, where all the retirees working at HD hang out.

One guy saw me on the computer, said hi and walked away.

A woman walked up, asked if she could help and I politely declined "just looking for a price". Then she stood there giving me a look, I assume (I didnt look at her).

Went on my way and luckily found that they added a few public computers to the pro-desk, so I dont need to deal with appliance lady's evil eye anymore.

Just sold my garage door opener 120 after fees not bad wish I could find more.

I sold 2 520evgs and probably came out about the same, tire kickers on Craigslist were at like 90-100. I had to make my own boxes though, couldn't find anything to fit realistically. I guess I could have slapped a label on it and called it a day but I didn't feel like dealing with it if someone stole it at delivery. I wanted to keep one, but 100 bucks is a 100 bucks.

Does anyone that has been following Home Depot sales for some time know if the ridgid oscillating edge sander ever goes on sale? Thinking this will be my next large tool purchase but would be willing to wait for a deal if there is a possibility.

I've never seen that on sale. Been watching it myself. My boss is looking for one. I believe there was a Ryobi one that clearanced out a LONG time ago (before I even started GJ).

I don't see this one going on clearance anytime soon. I don't see anyone buying it either...

I watched that thing for years. It's probably the only ridgid tool I've never seen a special deal or clearance on. It's also possibly the best tool with ridgids name on it[emoji3]

Eventually I had a use for it so I did the best I could and used a Lowes 10% off coupon

Craigslist was kinda slow with my Paslodes so I threw (3) of them up on eBay last night and they all sold today. :rocker:

Yea I sold 2 on eBay too 220 each made 145 on both after fees and shipping. eBay was flooded, but if you got them for a penny the. It's all good. :rocker:

After fee/shipping....$250. I've got (3) left but perhaps I'll sit on those for a few months and let the online inventory on them drop and hopefully the prices go up. :D

Oh wow, good job. I took 239 for my 10. Sold in 3 days. Good to see the price came back for those who waited!

You pretty happy with it? I'm willing to spend the $200 on it, would just rather get it on discount! My way of thinking is so different since hanging around here for the last few weeks! I'll at least try a lowe's 10% off or hf 20% off.

Yep... It's come in handy plenty of times and seems to be built well.

I come to the conclusion that there arent any deals in MN and especially not penny deals. As soon as anything goes on clearance it gets moved to a big section at the front of the store. Most of it sells b4 u would even consider it a good deal. The few things left at .03 an .02 were just junk. There was a buncha floor epoxy for 10 to 20 bucks but I dont have any use for it and I cant imagine flipping it.

Three paslode finish nailers up on the shelf but still full price.

Yes, there are quite a few deal hunters and small contractors in the Twin Cities area. It's best not to hold your breath on anything you see posted here. You might find something by chance. But it's not worth your time traveling to each of the stores because there seems to pretty strict control of any discounting around here.
