Hi This is my first post but have been lurking for several months. Not so much for penny deals but for sale items I can use. Found the site looking for black Friday sales. Thanks so much for help with understanding the Makita combo kit deal and I couple other items.

I have read a ton of these posts and am not sure if this has been brought up. I know there has been a lot of talk of where the merchandise goes and what is done with it. I live in the phoenix area and see pop up store fronts and warehouse sales with various forms of the merchandise. I see a lot of penny tags and store returns. They load up pallets and then auction them off to these sales outlets. I personally have been to one of the auctions and the pallets are just randomly filled. No rhyme or reason.

Below is a link of a guy that has a warehouse and a example of what he has. I see the pallets when I stop by there. Not anything wrong with this just an example of where the stuff goes.
https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/tld/5445379607.html

Here is a link to one of the auctions that I have attended that has the pallets. http://bidonfusion.com/content/

I also attended a auction where they broke down the pallets and auctioned items online individually but can't find it now. It was local here in phoenix.

Thanks again for your great informative posts.

Forget where I saw it, but saw where you can bid on or buy random assorted stuff they're getting rid of by the pallet.

What email do you guys use to contact Home Depot customer service? Found a penny bathroom fan, and we actually need it, so I bought it. Rang at a penny and they said its against their policy to sell it that cheap but I can have it for $30 otherwise they send it back because somethings wrong with it, it's recalled. I know it was bs but I didn't want to argue I was in a hurry. Figured I'd email them instead.

Bwahahahahaha. That might be the worst excuse I've ever heard. Knowingly selling something that is recalled is a lawsuit-waiting-to-happen. Corporate might fire someone for suggesting such a thing.

My local one is clearing out the rest of the Malibu lights and the shelf where they used to be has already been refitted with Hampton Bay lights and display.

Had 2 different clearance boxes like this:

Nothing but more lights.

Finally found a shed for 250 but don't have a means of transportation.

Just picked up one shed for half the sale price. 3 in stock. Department manager gave me 50% off. After that 2 other people asked for the same deal. Lol. Great for painting/staining wood projects and not having the fumes or leafs fall on your projects.

Malibu is owned by brinkman, who went out of business. These are in clearance nationwide, I bought several of the transformers weeks ago. Seems like the quality is spotty but could work. If you want brand new ones I'd probably go win a brand that's still in business.

I bought two of the Tan color Rust-oleum 2 1/2 car garage floor epoxy kits just because they had them. Not sure if anyone is interested in them. I know there's a classified section here and a wanted section, but it would be helpful to have a trader section or maybe a thread for folks to post what they have and what they need or want. These are heavy so shipping would probably be a little spendy. Purchased for $25.00 each.

Picked up an arrow T-50 stapler today for $5. It was laying in a clearance rack with a mile of strapping tape around the original plastic packaging. I took it to SCO and it rang up full price -- asked the rep if there was a manager that could mark since the packaging was beat - rep said he could do it... $5 bucks!

I've spent hours at two Home Depots in the California Central Valley - can't find any good clearance deals or penny deals. Seems to me that some stores just run a better operation than others..

Another question, just because one store has something on clearance and 0.0 on hand, and another store has many on hand or 1-4 on hand, doesn't mean they will have it for the same price right?

Basically you can't check clearance inventory from one store at another right?

That is correct.

In fact, a lot of the times if another store does show more than 1 on-hand, its a decent indicator that it WONT be clearance priced at the other store (but its still worth checking, of course)

Ive attempted to have my local store match the clearance price of another less local store but they told me they couldnt. They did suggest I buy the item and that they would eventually clearance it as well, then go get a price adjustment.

Found a Passlode nailer today for a penny, attendant wouldn't let me ring it up though. I think he took it back to his break area to keep... just a guess though.

Exactly. Also, you can use the pro App on your phone to indicate trends. For instance. Stores that show stock likely may not be on clearance if other stores close by are sold out because it's on clearance. Also, if the item is a penny or about to be a penny I usually see that it always drops to not in stock. But trust me, it may well be in stock. It's all up to how your store trends.

The only thing this process should indicate it that stock quotes are very inaccurate (in store app or worse on your phone app) and you will be able to develop a feel for your stores behaviors the more experience you get using the system.

I found a link where someone had (a long time ago) posted a link to get you into the Home Depot store systems from your own browser, but it looked like that had long been squashed. I'm ready for someone to do that again to speed up my process!

How about this scenario:

While at a store today, I looked up the SKU on the PCA and it said "item not found" but when I enter the SKU on HD.com, it's showing the store has 2 of the item in stock???

Did you try to price check it at the SCO?

What is that supposed to mean?

Curious as well. As I just called this morning to sort my local store out and was assured accessible to all penny items, we are allowed to buy.

Speaking of which how hasn't this pennied out yet?

Had some other "items" I was trying to pay for and get out. I'll go back tomorrow and try the Price Check at SCO. Just found it odd that the PCA didn't show it but HD.com did.

Oh very strange, this is the first for me got a Watts 3/4 double blow back valve. The girl asked for the head cashier or MOD? She came over told her that if it rings up a penny the customer gets it for free. She printed a receipt and handed it to me? Even though I didn't pay for it? Strange.

This store does not have clearance caps they are very good in clearing out penny items. Only things I ever go from them were the two 100 dollar paslode nailers and clearance 42 cent nails.

Too many new people that are clueless an will ruin it for us!

I never mentioned penny items. All I said was I wanted to see what was on clearance. They love that. The sooner you buy something the less they have to mark it down. That's why there is a cart at the entrance that has their clearance items.
I am smarter than "hey, I heard there are penny items, help me find them"
Honestly I don't care about penny items. I will pay $25-$50 for a $200 drill and not have them know me as "the penny guy" I go to the store a lot. I respect them, and they treat me well.
In fact, he told me they were getting ready to do inventory and he would have a lot of stuff to get rid of. Even offered to call me if he came across anything I wanted.
I feel like the people running around buying all the penny stuff will ruin for the rest of us searching for honest deals
The more people buy the penny items the quicker they will realize the need to improve their inventory control and the quicker the big clearance deals will stop.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
