No

You need to open the store menu under the start icon. This has always been this way. Some stores set it so that it doesn't show sometimes, you just close it and restart it. Some stores have it minimized at all times. No big deal really.

Just found two penny items in rafters. Got them pulled for me without a problem. Go to check out and of course the SCO is broken. Go to checkout and said they wouldn't give them to me for a penny because "we have to change the system still", gave them to me for $5 a piece at least.

**.00 doesnt mean clearance "soon", it just means eventually

A lot of .00 stuff takes a LONG time to hit the .06/.04 level. To me it seems pretty brand-dependent....i.e. Milwaukee stays at .00 longer than Husky or Ryobi.

Some just don't know of the policy or are wary of what a customer is doing on the comp. also those who know what we are up to.

Probably because they want all the deals to themselves or they are a-holes. Everytime i try to go the computer when this one old lady is working cs she gives me the most evil stare like she knows what i am doing. She was also the same lady who didn't let me use the ace hardware 50% coupon even tho everyone else at the store let me even the store manager!

Kill them with kindness. That's what I do. They can't throw you out for looking for clearance products. What's the point of having a clearance if you don't want to sell it.

One of the HD I went to had the Order line PC at the service desk with the screen facing away from the customer towards their desk lol.... yeah that helps me...

Its amazing how much HDs vary from store to store

This 100%. I haven't been doing this for more than a few weeks and have yet to have a bad uncounted with an associate so it's probably only a matter of time, but whenever one approaches I usually say hey and ask them how their day is going. Easiest thing. Then they'll ask if I need help and will walk away when I say I'm just looking something up. Of course ymmv there are always some rotten eggs out there.

Just marked down to this. All local stores OOS. Keep an eye up top. I saw 3 at another store a couple weeks ago that showed 0 in inventory...

Just picked up a "used twice" Porter Cable Scroll Saw off CL using proceeds from HD stuff I sold.

Happened to be near an HD so I stopped in to make sure there were no more clearance faucets. As I'm looking up scanning the overhead, an old employee comes over and says, "everything up there is going to found down here" pointing at the ground level stuff below all the display faucets. I told him that's not always the case. He looked really confused so I just left it at that.

I have bought some Ridgid cordless stuff on ebay from them under the seller name Karens Barn. It was all like new and functioned fine. I think they cherrypick the good stuff from the pallet lots and ebay it

I've bought a few things from Karen as well. For those of you in the Atlanta area, there is a similar place here. They don't sell on eBay but do occasionally have pallet auctions.

I found a Paslode with two sku stickers on it.... 473484 and 546 sku on it also (with barcode beneath it). I believe it is actually the 16ga one for $399 but the 484 sku is penny. Can't look in it because it's locked but is it worth trying sco or customer service?

I had the same thing happen to me, had both barcodes on it. It was a reconditioned framing nailer and rang up for $100.03. I asked for a discount being reconditioned and they sold it to me for $70. But now that the framing nailer is a penny I would try SCO if you can scan that barcode.

Exactly. Why ***** about people buying penny items when they leave the clearance stuff in the overhead instead of putting it out in the clearance section. If they did their job, everything that is half decent would sell at the .03 level.

That and they have to actually update the price tags, which is very rare.
