At a local warehouse that supplies to garden centers which I will go to before the marked-up garden center, they have had pallets of last years grass seed that had expired set to the side. I asked about this, and they said they were waiting on re-certification.

The company that grew the seed, keeps some on hand, and will test it each year for germination. If it passes the quality control check, they will issue stickers to the supply house to re-label the expiration date.

So depending on storage conditions, the seed could very well be fine, but with so many variables, the only way to truly tell is to plant some.
That's good to know. Maybe I'll grab some my next trip them, bc the stuff near me was barely expired. Just hate to waste so much effort if the seed would have never germinated.

Mine had a sell by date of 1/31/16.
Sell by date varies based on region. Colder region = extended date.
I think it will work fine when I spread it in the spring [emoji2]

Wow this is why as much as Craiglist is pain to deal with as far as lowballers. The fact that its pure profit (no shipping fees, paypal and ebay fees) and once its done its done...no one trying to contact u down the road asking for their money back

Just sold 2 of my paslode finish nailers (92400) which i picked up for $100 each for $525 for the pair

I mean I see your point, but it's not that much more of a profit. You sold them basically for for what I sold mine when the price was low on eBay. Not that the price is back up a bit you'd make out better on eBay. I'll say for every 1 problem on eBay I've sold 10. I can say it's probably the exact opposite for Craigslist. But cash is king.

I just pushed my luck and went through the SCO with the most stuff I've tried at one time. It was pretty busy but I kind of expected them to say something but what the hell, I went for it.

Rolled up with (4) Nutones, (4) Schlage electric Keypads and a box of (4) Schlage door passage sets. I get through the keypads and boom, they froze my transaction. Young guy comes over and says we can't sell those for a penny but can give them to you at the last sale price. I kindly tell him that if it's on the shelf and rings up a penny, the customer gets it at that price per HD corporate. He says we can't do that but says he'll get the manager. I tell him that's fine.

** (I got 3 valves from here about a month ago and was actually stopped for the very first time bargain hunting by the SCO clerk. At that time, the MOD came over and said I couldn't have the items for a penny but after a call to the store manager, he tells me that they have a "new" policy that if it rings up a penny, the customer gets it)

So, I wait around for at least 5 minutes holding up the line. There are now 2 young guys using the phone to call management. Finally, one of the guys hangs up his phone and looks at the other one and nods his head up and down. The clerk brings the keypad back and says manager said it's okay. Rang up the rest, dropped in a quarter and was on my way.

I almost went back in as there are still at least (6) boxes of Schlage handle/passage sets that are pennied out but decided I better not make a scene and just go back another day for another batch of stuff. In addition, I walked the ENTIRE store TWICE and there was not a yellow staircase anywhere. They had them there last week but for some reason they were gone. The orange staircase was initially close to the Schlage stuff when I there so I got on that real quick to get the stuff I bought. When I went back in the second time, the staircase was gone.

I used to be a little nervous about getting it out because I didn't want to cause a scene. Anymore I could care less. I called a while ago to see, and I was told with pleasure to call back if anyone gave me any trouble. I haven't, but if I was cleaning up on the locks like you were I would.

Anyone wanna trade some schlage bedroom and keyed entry for anything?

All I found was the big nickel Handle sets for the front door. At a minimum I need four keyed door handles with the dead bolts for my sister building a house so they can use one key and not have to mix brands.

Could use some bedroom and closet handled inside next if you have those too.

Just pm me.

Half off on the Rubbermaid Roughneck 32 Gal. Black Round Trash Can.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rubberma...PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-100063659-_-100656030-_-N

Yea saw that down here too, My City just dropped off a new trash can and recycling can to my house last week. Never gonna need to buy another trash can again. They went to automated trucks. I'm glad no more trash cans blown all over the place after heavy winds. Those Roughneck are strong from what I can tell

Just scored a sweet penny item! My second penny find to date. This was a store quite out of my way but was driving by. Had to have the high lift brought over to get it down.

Win!

Question

I bought out a clearance item at one store. That same item is full price at another store. Say I bought out all of that item at the store that has them for full price and returned them to the store that had them on sale. Would the store that had the item on sale put Te returned items back on the selves at the clearance price, if at all? If so how long do ya'll think it could take?

I've read so much about all the good deals you guys have found ,and it amazes me.
I don't have the phone system or the skills to get these deals.
Today I was buying a bushing that did not have the packaging, and the clerk had to look it up. I saw several 1cent items, and ask about them, she said no.
I got my 1.79 bushing for 1/2 price thought. I felt I had scored. :)

Had a somewhat interesting experience today. I came across a Paslode framer with no sleeve. Figured even if the nailer was used I couldn't go wrong for a penny. I knew that without a sleeve with a barcode it was likely I may not be able to buy it. I go to CS desk and I tell the guy working that I found this nailer and I was pretty sure it was going to ring up a penny since it was the old model. as soon as I said "penny" he almost got spooked and went and told a lady to call the manager. She called the manager and told him what was going on. The manager told her to sell it to me for a penny. She hung up and told me that she has to sell it to me for a penny, but did not want to log into the cash register with her code because she was afraid she would get in trouble. She told ANOTHER person working at CS to ring me up. He was also concerned and called the manager again. The manager told them again to sell it to me for a penny. He got on the computer and a few seconds later told me that he can't sell it to me for a penny because the computer won't let him but he could sell it to me for $0.66. I said that's fine and proceeded to pay. With tax I got the nailer for $0.72. I wasn't gonna argue over less than a dollar.

It was interesting to see how scared these employees were to be associated with a penny purchase. One of them even made a comment like "I have seen waaay too many employees get fired for this" but I think he was referring to employees buying penny items and getting caught.

Another thing that was interesting is that they never once tried to look up the price using the model number on the case. They just totally took my word for it that it would ring up a penny and sold it to me using a generic SKU.

3 hours later the nailer was sold for $125. It was used by the way, but everything was in the case and the battery stilled worked.

Also picked up 3 Bosch BT160's for a penny each today at another store. Nothing much else cooking other than that.

Nice score!! Today I picked up another Schlage entry lock (627105), and I finally found one of the Gerber multi tools for a penny. I'm sure it'll come in handy!

Not a big item, and don't have the sku, but there was a pile of 21" saw blades for a bow saw that were a penny, last clearance price was like 1.33, so still pretty cheap. Didn't get any though

Not a bad price. It's wood not plastic. You need to put a sub floor and shingle it. Sku 744-303

I picked one up for my brother.

Why do you hate your brother? lol

While my experience might not be the norm, I would stay away from any of these wood "kits". They use the bare minimum for structural members and in my experience of building one for myself and helping two neighbors. Most of the wood will be damp/wet from shipping and thus warped. Most kits dont use 2x4's etc. I spent more time trying to get everything straight when assembling which doubled the time it took to get it ready for paint/shingles.

While the cheap price is tempting, I would run the numbers on buying lumber. Especially if one were to follow their "design" and use the bare minimum for studs/joist etc.

For 250$ it's worth the chance. I got a 10x16 shed for free and I had to disassemble it and rebuild it and side and roof it. I had over a grand just in materials. And to have one this size delivered starts at 1800 for bare minimum. For what he needs this should be just fine haha.

My store had a dozen of these. Kept passing them up because they seem so awkward to use.

User error I'm sure. Not surprising considering 3/4 of the population has a difficult time doing the most menial tasks like changing a faucet or the oil in your car.

I like them. I got two sets and use them to sort my used wrench and socket pickups. Sae in one set, metric in the other. Stack them all together and store them in the corner. Then when i go to clean them i can just grab the bin I want.

There's a yellow sheet of paper in the box that says" Please don't return this item to the store. Please call us directly for help or any missing parts" I would advise them to call first.. Something about the travel of the door isn't setup properly.

Good morning,

I apologize for the issues you are having.

Can you further explain exactly what is happening so I can try and better assist you. Are there any diagnostic codes or flashing lights as the "troubleshooting" portion of the manual describes?

I recommend reviewing the "troubleshooting" portion of the manual and see if there is anything in there that helps you out. I just installed one of these a few weeks ago and haven't had any issues.

If you continue to have issues I would recommend following the instructions on the paper that was in the box for contacting Chamberlain customer support directly. I am sure they will be more than happy to help you out.

I don't know about using them to store / separate small stuff but they work great to load up what you need and cary it where you need to go. I have had 50-60#'s of hand / power tools and small materials in each and they beat the hell out of a 5 gallon bucket. Not as much digging around or dumping out to find what you need and no need for a drop cloth when working in clean "finished" area's. Using these and a shop vac have saved me from using drop cloths and a little time on a couple small jobs already.

I had a the same thing happen with a garage door opener sold on ebay. The buyer claimed the unit defective because they couldnt get the MyQ working. I responded pretty closely to the way you did and I never heard back from them. I hope all works out for you.
