I had a the same thing happen with a garage door opener sold on ebay. The buyer claimed the unit defective because they couldnt get the MyQ working. I responded pretty closely to the way you did and I never heard back from them. I hope all works out for you.

I had a hard time with the My Q at first. Had to get a cable and bring it closer to the opener and it paired instantly. Moved it back next to the modem and it has been fine since.

Buddy had to do the same. It doesn't like pairing at first if it's far from the opener.

Another scammer? Garage door opener.

Everything was perfect I opened the box and put the unit together installed it today and it only runs one direction and won't respond to any of the programming controls please send me a replacement unit as this one is definitely defective thank you in advance.

When I set my 3/4 HP up, the procedure after first power up was to set the up and down travels.

There is a process (in the manual, which Im sure your buyer didnt read) that you have to go through using only the buttons on the motor portion itself. My guess is not doing that procedure causes this issue, though I didnt notice it myself (because hey! I read the manual and followed the procedure)

EDIT: also note - be prepared for people to claim the door opener is broken because they cant get Homelink to work. If they are using an "older" (pre-2013) vehicle that has Homelink integrated into it, chances are the newer version thats build into these door openers is NOT compatible. I found that out the hard way, but Chamberlain will send a signal bridge for free (you pay shipping) to make them work.

There is no good reason for anyone to have to take something back that is sealed brand new. why on earth has no one come out with a competitor to eBay, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to get all these pissed off people to switch.

Please Google, setup an auction site. Take 7.5% of everything, and you will take 75% of ebay's business in less than 6months

Question

I bought out a clearance item at one store. That same item is full price at another store. Say I bought out all of that item at the store that has them for full price and returned them to the store that had them on sale. Would the store that had the item on sale put Te returned items back on the selves at the clearance price, if at all? If so how long do ya'll think it could take?

This happens because the product in question sells much better at one store than it does at another.

So let's say the item in question is a Stanley screwdriver set. Its regular price is $9.99. Both store A and store B get 20 sets on January 1. Store A moves them fairly quickly, while store B does not. On March 1, store A gets 20 more sets because they have sold them all, and the new ones go on the shelf at regular price. Store B, on the other hand, has only sold 6 of their 20 sets. So it is deemed a product that they will not need any longer, because it does not sell there, so they do not get a replenishment of them, and the remaining 14 sets go on clearance at $4.97.

The company will have certain numbers that it follows. Basically, if a certain number is not sold by a certain time, then that product will go on clearance.

Got two responses:

According to the online support its a defective unit will you replace it?

I have gone through the trouble shooting there's no code listed it is stuck in the lift mode I had to unplug it because it was at the safety stop and wouldn't shut off I can't get the program buttons to respond I took the belt off and plugged it back in the motor runs in the open direction and won't respond to the program controls it shuts off after a few minutes then starts up again


Responding with this:

Unfortunately I don't have another to replace it with.

When you first plugged the unit in did it immediately start spinning?

Do you see a green light on one safety sensor and a yellow on the other? Make sure you're safety sensors pare properly installed and are lit.

Did you ensure not to try to open the door with the remote or wall button prior to installing the safety sensors and trying to program the unit?

I recommend you try calling Chamberlain directly as they will be much more help than I can be.

Since the unit was clearly in a brand new factory sealed box, I am sure that Chamberlain will gladly help you with the issues you are having. I have contacted them in the past and they have been very helpful.

Make sure they dont have any CFL or LED bulbs in or near the unit. That seems to make GDOs go nutty on occasion.

Good call. CFLs are ok but I have heard about LEDs. I have them in mine and it's been ok but.

There is a PDF from Chamberlain roaming around the 'net that shows compatible LED bulbs but it hasnt been updated since Jan 2014.

Hmm the manual I found online says either incandescent or CFL with only wattage limitations.

Same clerk stops me after I finished ringing up (2) Nutones. He grabs the card and holds onto it and calls the Store Mgr. Manager comes over, recognizes me and simply says let him go.

Now, the second encounter at another store really pissed me off. Grabbed (2) Nutones and (2) 4-Packs of Schlage passage sets (366970). I'm on the last item and they freeze it. She comes over and says she needs to talk to a manager. While she looks around, the system unfreezes and I pay and get my receipt. Then the lady comes back with the MOD. He says he is going to let me go this time but they do not sell penny items and he can easily just refuse the sale. I kindly tell him that HD says if it's on the shelf and it rings up a penny, the customer gets it. He says that's not true and ask me if I work for HD. He then dropped this gem on me, he says that "they will be keeping an eye on me for now on whenever I come into the store". I told him I'm sorry if they accidentally left stuff on the shelves that shouldn't be there. He again says that it's okay but "we know who you are what you look like and we'll be sure to watch you when you're in the store again". We parted ways after that.

After thinking about it, I went back to the store about an hour later to get his name as what he said to me TWICE was pretty asinine. I went back but he was gone so I talked to another MOD and explained to her what happened. She was floored! She said "he's probably the most laid-back manager we have". She went onto say that if you find a penny deal, it's yours no questions asked. She said she was definitely going to talk with the guy and let him know I came back. She said what he did was completely unacceptable.

Found some penny deals in over head today. Was running short on time, there wasn't a ladder in sight, and the SCO was within sight of the customer service desk....

I found a couple of the weed and feeds yesterday. There was only supposed to be one but I would have taken a dozen as my lawn is more weeds than grass. That and these were pennies.

I snagged 31 of these today for pennies. Decided to just go straight to CS, they called the manager, and after some back and forth between me, the CS employee, a garden employee, and the manager on the phone they gave in and let me have them. Looks like I'm set on weed n feed for about a decade.

I've also been buying up the rest of the Husky garage cabinet displays. They jumped from .03 status, back to full price, then to about 25% off, and then to half price .00 - but I managed to get 2 stores to price match the other store where I got them at .03 in January. Went back to one store for the last display today and the prices dropped. They are now 75% off, but still at .00 - slightly lower prices than the .03 prices - so I had them do price adjustments for all of the ones I had bought before. So far I've snagged 4 2 drawer base cabinets, 8 4 drawer base cabinets, one closet, 9 28" wall cabinets, and 1 48" wall cabinet, all at 75% off. Very weird watching the price move on these since November.

I was kicked off the computers at this one store and manager was not budging on her answer. for yall having problems with ebay bc of complaints about broken/incomplete stuff:
i got a new tankless water heater from hd...75% off with a generic sku for a $250ish total. employees assured it was new, and just got lost on the shelf... box looked good. i finally crack it open the other day and its missing both of the controllers.. theyre $150ea plus tax and ship... all hd would do is return my $$.. no 'here have a discount', no 'sorry for wasting your time', no 'here have a giftcard', no nothin.. except excuses of course.

hd isnt infallable. plenty of returns end up back on the shelf, esp if the box looks nice...
