If you have decent lighting in your garage the light doesn't matter. I've done fine without the laser too

The light is not meant to light up the workplace. It's meant to shine on the blade and cast a "blade" shadow on the workpiece. This guarantees accuracy compared to laser models.

Wow those Allen keys are still around I sold 30 of them Online a month ago. Sold them as a lot kept one for my self.

It was in a cart with a bunch of other random "hardware / tools" I assume where returns. It was the only thing in there I spotted with a clearance tag so I grabbed it and a few other things and it was the only penny item.... thought I had struck gold at first!

true, i have seen quite a few laying around as open box/etc.
from what i can see on youtube the problem is the inverter outlet cover is cheap plastic and breaks easily. it will however take a regular wall outlet from cooper, leviton, etc as a replacement...
i think i will jump if the price goes sub $200.. i have a hunch that it could run a tiny and efficient a/c

I want to say Lowes had them a year or two back too, maybe not but either way I did a little research on them. I don't remember anything about bad outlets but I decided that I'd rather try and find a deal on a used Honda inverter. Was going to use it on my boat for Founder giging than I ended up getting a couple big deep cells and a dozen big LED lights, Works great and MUCH quieter lol! Anyways I'm right there with you on sub $200 but at $500 I'll pass!

I don't get why you guys' home depots don't have computers at the customer service desk for use. All the home depots do around my area have one and I have never had any issues. ***** for sure.

I think it varies store by store, employee by employee. One of the two stores I go to has been nothing but friendly! I usually head straight for their appliance / remodel computers (4 computer's two on each side of a dividing wall) If they aren't being used I pop a squat and do my thing. Usually never hear a thing form the employe's but every once in a while they will slide by me to use the other computer, grab something from the printer, etc. I always ask if I'm in the way, and tell them "don't be shy, I can do a little shopping and come back to finish searching if it'll make your job easier" Never been taken up on that offer and usually chat with them a little which is nice.

Now the other store is about the same except for ONE "lady" that is ANYTHING but pleasant... I can remember at least 4 times that she has came up to me with a bad attitude and poor choice of words. Usually says something like "you're not allowed on these!", "haven't I told you before that you're not allowed on these?!", "what is your problem!?!?" I do my best not to stir the pot and usually say "I'm sorry, the computers up front where *******, I'll go check them again" but the last time her tone and choice of words REALLY got under my skin..... I looked up at her and said "Ma'am!? you are the ONLY person at ANY of the Home Depot's I've been too who has made any mention that I'm not allowed on these computers." I got about half way through that statement before she started spewing at the mouth again so I spoke over her / cut her off n continued to tell her "I have never stayed in the way if I noticed employe's where busy with customers back there" and its very rare at that particular store for anyone to be shopping that area, thats why I use those computers! Computers at the front of the store seems to have a lot of people using them for online orders or quick searches".....
I don't know if she's like that with every one or maybe I "met her daughter" back in my younger / single days and don't remember her? Anyways, while talking I was getting my stuff together and getting out of there. Dont like confrontation so hopefully that was enough to get her off my ***? Doubt I'd report her to a manager as thats how she feed her family or cats or what ever she has, BUT I doubt I'll be able to hold my tongue with her if her attitude doesn't change... Some peoples kids, I swear......

Rant over!

$10 around here too. These bits are great, too. They work soooo much easier on my old hardwood floor joists

They have been on clearance here for months but never saw them in stock.....

The light is not meant to light up the workplace. It's meant to shine on the blade and cast a "blade" shadow on the workpiece. This guarantees accuracy compared to laser models.

Only thing I have used my laser for was floating hard wood floors that had to have a gap covered by base board / quarter round all the way around the perimeter. For trim and other precise cuts I just keep a sharp pencil, pull the blade down close to what I'm cutting and use my "eye ball laser" to line up the cut. The lasers I've seen aren't sharp or steady enough for making precision cuts imo.

I may do that and post it on here or youtube for everyone to get a laugh but I'd feel bad if she lost her job. I'm sure HD like most places now a days bends her over with no lube on a daily basis. Thats punishment enough if my eyes

I think most of them don't have a clue, I've been asked countless times if I work there while using the customer facing computers at the pro desk. I just say no, most of the time I don't get any attitude just an offer for help. The last time I showed the lady where it said public on the section I was using, she had no clue they where meant for customer use.

At most of my stores the appliance section only has computers at the desks not facing the customers, most of the time someone is sitting there. I just ask to look something up if the customer service or pro desk computers are down. they will bring up the .com site or just let me use it. I've found that most don't know about the public section on the pc's

I might have a brand new in the box Keter Fusion shed to sell in the Twin Cities, MN area. I would only be looking to make $50 off the deal so $250+tax + $50 = $315 (not exactly sure on tax amount). I looked at over 16 Home Depots and spent a day and half doing so. That's where the $50 comes in.

Not sure if it's okay to mention this deal here, but it seems like this is where most of the people come to who are looking for one. I did buy it with the idea of using it, but then realized my 54" yard tractor won't fit through the door opening.

Where in the twin city's?

That's no excuse for having a sh***y attitude with customers. Almost every job I've had, I've had to deal with the public on a daily basis. One of the best things told to me early on: "If you really don't want to be here, go home. If you're gonna stay, you better act like you wanna be here." One of the worst things to happen to customer service is that customers started making excuses for employees not doing there jobs. The job may ****, but it's still your job, and you came in today to do it.

They all have them, sometimes the stores turn them around so they don't face the public. I'd say 2 out of 10 stores near me are like that

Maybe, or maybe everyone's skin has gotten entirely to thin? Some people just lack social skills, doesn't necessarily make them bad people, bad at their job, or unworthy of an hourly job at home depot for that matter.... Some of my good friends seem like complete *******'s to strangers every time they open their mouth but I trust them over a smooth talking kiss *** any day of the week!

What differneces? I was debating on buyin one since their is one buy me high in the rafters but trying to hold out for a laser model

Diff from the dws780 is: Cut depth, cut length, adjustments, fence, n "laser" LED light.

The saw last season special sale was more like thedws780, n was the dws782..

HD's (and only HD) has a dws779, different blade n no light, though the housing has the light mount inset, n you can make it work. But it's $399, not the normal $599. The des also has the red tag print on the box as "season special"

Hope this helps n clears things up..

Just didn't want people thinking they were getting the dws780/779..

Yup, picked up the last one at my local HD and have it mounted on a Ridgid miter saw stand I bought on black friday. Big time upgrade from the Craftsman 7 1/4" miter saw I had.

Be careful n check it out to make sure you like it. There's a lot of differences between it and the dws780/779!

Do not buy this saw. Not only you loose out on the light you also loose out the depth cutting capacity. This is a 12" but works like 10" because of the limitation of the cut is 4.5" - see the specs. It does not have a depth stop too. You are better off buying a craftsman/harbor freight miter. If it goes below $150 I might consider but for this price not worth it. Get the DWS779 if you are ok with the missing light.

So the 709 miter saw is different than the 782? I have the 782 and couldn't be happier. No light or laser, but those are for sissies anyway.

True. But that light is pretty sweet. I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I actually like it a lot. [emoji854]

Since everyone on here seems to buying them I figured I'd do a quick review of the Keter shed.

I did a gravel pad, didn't plan ahead and bought 4 4x4s and gravel this morning. Bolted the wood together and dumped the gravel. Cost ~$140. Shed was $250.00. I didn't tamp the gravel down but leveled best I could. Keter expects your pad to be perfect and this shed isn't really meant to go on gravel. I put the base down and the whole floor flexes with the gravel. While erecting the walls you have to pull the braces to align. The pieces around the door you have to physically break in half and are left with rough edges. I was hesitant about this but the way they designed it they sit in a pocket for the door frame and there is plenty of play. I put the shed up almost entirely by myself. I needed my wife's help for the fastening the roof braces, the window, the peak, and the door frame. That's it. Total build time was around 5 hours. For $400 I can't really complain, shed looks nice, feels pretty secure once entirely together.

Things I hate and will fix/modify. The reason the doors are broken off the displays are because the hinges are a hollow plastic pin. They are a joke and I might machine some solid one's out of delrin with thread or nix the threads and use a c-clip. IF you live in a neighborhood where you are worried about someone stealing stuff out of the shed don't get this shed. A good kick to the walls or doors and they are in. You can only mount up to 77 lbs on a wall which seems limiting.

I bought 2 of them for $250. Thought of using it to replace my current old wooden shed. Saw a sample of it at one of the HDs. This is too small for my appetite. It also looks flimsy. I can't believe anyone would pay a $1000 for this - $500 is more like the normal price. I will probably return the ones I bought. Total waste of time.

If you ship to the exact address given and it shows as delivered you are off the hook for item not received cases.

Not quite, it could get stolen off the porch and you will have to make a claim to the delivery service.

scored some $15 hoovers on my ryobi generator hunt.. those are a really good buy.
i finally forced some jackass hd employee to open the locked area outside to look at the keter after he ran me off a few times. that thing is a pos at $250 imo. those 'shed in a box' things for $25ish are a way better bargain... bc im sure you could concoct some sort of floor for it if you tried.

there was also a metal shed at one store for only $65. i saw it a few weeks ago on the price checker but i didnt hunt for it bc i wasnt in the market. im not sure of the dimensions either.

popped my penny cherry on a generator plug... 5 yrs on&off with hd clearance and this was the first penny

I had saw 2 last weekend and was unsure about buying them. I went back a day later to buy them and they were gone. I've only found them at one store out of the many I been to lately.

Natgas is correct. They are six ft. Which made me even more sad b/c that is the space that I needed. 8 ft would have been too big actually. I have 2 base cabs, and a Five drawer base. That should work well enough for a work surface, albeit a bit broken up.

I went in to a HD today and scanned my UPC from a fusion shed at the SCO, it said 1 cent, I went to a computer to check stock on the fusion and of course they had zero in stock but the price check app said that the price was still $250.03. That is the first time I have found that the price check app was different than the SCO lane.
Is this normal?
