When you buy kits from HD that include "free" items" do you need to return everything if you decide you don't want the main items you paid for?

Husky cabinets seem to be on sale. Anyone see a sale price on the 72" H x 36" W cabinets?

Yea wasn't thinking clearly at the time, just wanted the transaction done so I could gtfo!

Wow didn't realize Dewalt gimped this saw that much, might as well buy a 10" slider if that's the case, but it'll do til I find a better deal on a nicer saw. I wouldn't buy the HF saw after seeing this vid, might not be a dealbreaker for some but is for me, skip to 1:40 in the vid.

It's wanted to way thanks for the video link. Been looking at some of the nicer 12" saws lately (Dewalt, Bosch) and I'd started wondering if maybe the the Harbor Freight was a good alternative if I took the time to square everything up. I'm convinced it's not after watching that because I got rid of my 10" Craftsman due to the amount of slop in it. Thanks!

I wasn't trying to start a ******* contest, I wasn't even looking for .01 items just browsing through the store I actually was buying it for myself whatever the cost was. Just to make it clear I was not looking for penny items. I was just pissed off the way they treated me at check out like a criminal, which is why I called.
Same here.. Most HD treat penny sales as criminals,, some are really vicious and start going nuts, accusations..
Yep.. Sometimes Yu report them for their treatment and if that same store gets too many complaints. I am sure he Corp or district manager will discuss issues of complaints of store.. And I am sure no manager wants to be on the spotlight of complaints... That's only way bad managers will change... Some managers will just say ok,, take it.. Or void transaction and just give it to Yu... Others will deny even $15.03 item that's pennies out.. It's just their **** personality of showing Yu their powers.

And don't worry,, HD has been doing penny accounting for long time.. My first penny at HD was back in 1994..but back then I really wasn't into HD deals or any deals.
I was told by HD Corp resolution csr that penny items was used by most all retail stores..

Exactly, this is what pisses me off. Even if it is labeled with a higher price, and you go and checkout, they ****** it out of your hands and give you a dirty look. No apology or anything for not being able to sell it. This has been my experience at least. They act like you are stealing from their wallet.

At least around here anyway, it goes straight in the trash compactor. They'd rather throw it away and piss off a customer than let the customer have it.
If they donated the stuff, like some of the stores do in other parts of the country, i'd show a little remorse

I did a word search and didn't get any results, but I apologize in advance if this deal has already been posted.

I was at Home Depot yesterday to buy a cordless Dremel and a yellow tag way down on a bottom shelf and practically hidden by a retracted aisle barricade caught my eye.

They had 3, I bought them all. Not really a big fan of Ryobi, but I've never owned or used an oscillating multi-tool and figured I couldn't go wrong for the price.

That's a good deal for that Ryobi multi-tool.. but at 2 amps, I wonder if it's even worth buying.. I suppose if you don't have a multi-tool you can't beat that price for a starter.

so is there anything illegal with taking stuff out of a dumpster? i was driving by a HD recently and they were throwing a bunch of decent lumber that they just ripped out of hte parking lot that was basically just to keep cars out of the area. they just spray painted it all with purple lines and chucked it into a huge roll off.

One store here has 4 packs of grinders and one saw. They are soooooo slow to drop though... Been at $40 and $150 for what seems to be forever now...

I would take a dual pack at $40 in a heart beat... I just can't find any stores with them in stock in Connecticut.

I believe it is the property of the trash company once it is in the dumpster.
I think the dumpster with penny items is locked inside the building around here, not sure, but I don't want to go dumpster diving anyway lol. I'm pretty sure everything gets compacted or destroyed anyway.

"If the trash is on a public street or alley, it is fair game," Vince DiCroce of the Denver City Attorney's office says of Dumpster diving.

"In theory," he adds, "somebody getting use out of something that is thrown away is a good thing." (http://www.denverpost.com/ci_18060042)

i guess the issue becomes if the shopping area/parking lot that the HD is located in is considered private property.

Logged 1500 miles last week. Mostly western and middle NC and SC and Augusta. All framing and given away/sold already.

Wow that's crazy I was in Augusta last week for business as thought for sure I could find some gems in the local stores. I came up empty handed and now I know why.

I stopped by my local store after work today and saw an employee with a cart full of penny items from the lighting section, sconces and patio light accessories. I, in a joking tone, asked if he was getting rid of the penny items. He said yes, and I offered to just buy it and save him the trouble. He smiled and said he'd get into trouble. He added that if I find it on the shelf first it is mine. I enjoy a good relationship with, and good attitude among my local HD employees. Now I just wish they weren't so good at their jobs.

Are you selling any? If so pm me a price plus shipping. I need one ASAP. Some nice person, stole my tool boxes and nailers out of my vehicle 2 weeks before Christmas and I can't find one of those unicorns around here. I went and bought a Hitachi yesterday but haven't used it yet so I can return it. However I have to have one as soon as I can, I am in the middle of building walls. Also the 'nice' person got my dewalt tough cases and my finish nailer, if you have any to sell or anyone else does. I'm in the KY/TN area.

Should have asked him to help you in flooring or something and when he went to find another employee taken the cart.
