I see why anybody would buy for 150 when they can get a Porter cable with a nailer for roughly same price... With all paperwork for warranty and option of returns to store.

Unless they are Dewalt name brand. Better play is the 99 dollar husky with quite compressor,,, California air tools brand??

Dont try to use logic with people buying on CL or Ebay.

I call it "have to have it right now" syndrome.

I bought 3 of those, I am going to sell 1 and use the other 2 to make a really sweet Hookah system (Aluminum Tanks) Very Very Quiet and a duplicate of the California Air Tools 4610A Model but the Husky has a 3 year warranty and the same California Model only has a 1 year warranty.

If I hadnt bought the Rigid vertical pancake a few months ago, Id be all over the Husky quiet one.

The Ridgid is loud but is SOOOO convenient to carry around.

I bought that one a year ago also. I don't think it's as loud as most other standard pancake compressors though. It's very convenient, forget if there's 2 or 3 outlets on it. No complaints here, but I still want to try one of the CAT quiet ones

Yeah same here....like the 2 outlets and how easy it is to carry. Its my first portable compressor so I have nothing to compare to about noise levels, and the tank is big enough that I can do a good amount of work with it before it needs to refill.

But like you said it would be nice to compare the noise levels.

If the Husky drops again I might buy one just to try it and keep whichever one I like better.

better choice? The DeWalt 6 gallon for $45, the DeWalt 2.5 Quiet (I got it for $65) or the $99 Husky?

I vote husky, I believe it's the rebranded California air compressors one. You don't know how loud and annoying these little jerks are until you drag it into your house to work.

They have the same model number 4610a it makes sense for it to be a rebrand.

I don't get the fascination over 50.00 compressors.

At Christmas they had the Bostich compressor with one nail gun for 99.00

Agreed. The 50.00 DeWalt compressor in question seems like nothing special.

Now the 96.00 DeWalt heavy duty quiet compressor is a decent deal, as is the Husky if its really a rebranded CAT. But the 50.00 ones seem like the run of the mill pancake that everyone makes.

If you had to choose between the Husky and the DeWalt quiet, which would be better? Just for occasional home use...

Was wondering this also... Tough choice.

Big thing the Husky had over the Dewalt was the Husky was aluminum. Some people might want the lighter weight if they carry it around all day.

The Husky is actually heavier according to their product pages.

Husky is 44 lbs, DeWalt is 36

1. Go back tomorrow and take one to the SCO and price check it.

2. If it's a penny, grab a cart, put all 10-12 in it and head to the SCO and start checking out. :D

About to go give this a try! Not sure how it's gonna go,but what the hell. Will report what happens later.

Just saw a 25.02 echo backpack sprayer. SCO rang up for 25.02 so passed. Scored a thermocell lantern down from $30 to $7 or so.

I don't have any experience with the dewalt compressor but the silent Husky compressor is really nice.

Those looking for a quiet home compressor for occasional small use. The senco one gallon is super light, small and quiet.

The box was waterlogged so it had to have been hidden outside.

Just an FYI there's a Rigid 3600w generator in the top overhead above the other generators in Stuart, FL. I'd like to get it down to see but I'm down here for work and I don't have time to mess with them getting it down this afternoon. Don't know price but good luck.

Checked my store today and couldn't find any of the compressors or paslodes. The 25cc toro was full price.

Just scored 2 technician tool boxes at 8.83 in newington nh. Isle 12 in the over head the have 8 left. Asked and had no problem getting them down. Look for 1000-002-190 on a big white box.

Found 5 of these in the overhead today for a penny each.

If it is brand new why do they already have it on the clearance shelf? I tried using the price check app today but it wouldn't open at all. It has really been slow and very hard to open lately!

Wow I haven't saw one of those in months. Good catch. Seems like they all went away around here while they were in the $30 range.

Haha Garage Journal where we can tell you the model epoxy by the color of the car on the box. I like it!

Easiest way to tell new version epoxy from old - the new ones have the "burst packet" (that goes for both color and clear)

Someone (or a group of someones) in San Antonio has a lockdown on this gig. There are zero penny items in this city. Even the stuff on clearance is hard to find and in limited supply. Stores will say quantity of one or two and they are either missing out of the inventory or hidden very well. I did, however, come across a box marked something like, "Clearance Items 7-19-15" and thought it was interesting. It would be nice to see what's inside that big box.
