Had first negative experience
Was doing a price checks around store when low and behold their are three gladiator tool chest sitting in tool area. I thought to myself where did those come from? Went to public computer sure enough "no item found". Go find a flat cart about scanner level and lift those babies on, line up sku numbers for easy, fast scanning and head to my local sco. Very helpful [emoji30] young attendant offers to scan these heavy boxes comes up "no sku on file". Dang it says I and proceed to wait for MOD "Grace" to come assist me. Grace tries every number on boxes and nothing will come up! Then MOD Grace says " we know what you do, finding penny and clearance items. These were a special order and should not have been on the floor. We will sale them to you for 25% off what it cost us to ship them here." I said " well if you know what I do then you know you will not find them on the computer nor do you sale them in the store." She said " yes but because it was a special order for someone we know what it cost us". She said " we will not get anything off top shelves for you that are pennies.! I said thanks I would like to think on it. She proceeds to ask how I know what items are pennies and I said "you really don't know?" (Nor was I going to show and tell). I ask her am I doing anything that is wrong or illegal? If I am then I will stop! "No " she said but we know! I decided against them but grabbed a fold up ice chest sitting around corner of sco and ring out at a penny as she is not looking.
Talked to friend who works at hd and ask him to research true corporate policy on top shelve he returned my call with" top shelf is on floor merchandise and anything there is for sale and must be retrieved if customer wants to purchase, even if a penny." he told me if there was problems to call corporate and it would be resolved.
She was right on special orders though.
So I am a marked man but can freely search for penny items and purchase without lurking in the shadows [emoji1][emoji1]
