Wow, that is calling their bluff. Were you in any danger of being arrested ? I imagine that if you were still in the store that could hardly be theft.

No, they took me to a back room to disarm me because I carry and told me I was being detained while they figure out exactly what was going on. One of them went to talk to the managers while the other took my story and the other eventually came back and said the managers were going to let me go with the compressors. The cops looked at each other and asked "is there anything we can do" and they decided no. Would have involved the fraud agency and all that, but I never left the store with items so I was in the clear unless they wanted to call me walking past the point of sale at the SCO theft.

Cops will tell you that it is civil for no other reason than not wanting to fill out all the paperwork that goes with a case like these. Then they have to sometimes come in on their days off to relay the information to a detective so they can then investigate it. This would be a huge pain in the *** for all parties involved so unless a massive stink is put up they will just say whatever to get the situation over with.

Cops will tell you it is a civil issue because it is one. Nobody goes in on their days off to relay any info. All contacts are documented and sent to investigations if need be. But since it is a civil issue that is no need for that.

Anybody flipping pressure washers? Just curious what you're getting.

Picked one up at 2 today and I've had one offer for 150 and another guy is "doing his research" since then

Well apparently the Husky compressors I was watching did drop AFTER I was there at 2pm Monday. The two on the floor sold, but there was still one in the rafters. Planned to hook up a couple friends/family, but oh well. At least I got mine to replace a 16 year old Campbell Hausfeld that leaks and is so loud you have to yell to hear the person next to you.

Picked up a 8 inch Rigid diamond blade today for a penny. I have been looking for one of these blades for months and have struck out. I thought I had thoroughly scoured this store but today as I glanced at the clearance section I was shocked to see the blade. I took it to the self checkout and did a price check and it came up as a penny. I hit the buy button and then realized I had no cash so I quickly swiped my credit card expecting that the cashier would cancel the transaction. The cashier then grabbed the blade as I was swiping, and I signed for it as quick as I could. As I turned around to face her I was expecting a battle but she placed the blade back to where she took it from and said "Have a nice day". I guess she only took it to clear the anti-theft device. Some days your luck is better than others!

Bought 2 today. Shelf reads $199 but scanned at $99. One for work and one for home. I've been looking for power washers for a while. They wanted $40 here to rent one. I guess if it works 3 days I'm ahead.

Kicker is, there isn't even a spot on the shelf for them. They are just sitting up there. Might give them a few more weeks and see if they drop.

No clue. First time I noticed it. I think it's a new item, not really penny. I don't remember these on clearance
I looked for them a few months back because I wanted one but it was virtually OOS in all stores. Surprisingly, it's showing in stock now almost everywhere around me.

Actually, when I search through Home Depot I do not see it in stock in most locations.. Very interesting.

Did they reissue this via new upc? All the stores around me have it in stock according to stockbyme, hard to believe it's pennied out...

Nope still full price here even tho the sco attendant rang up my order remotely before I could scan it. Thought that was odd...

I bought one of these approximately a year ago. There was a posting on Slickdeals noting that they were being reduced and were at .06 when I began my search. Found several of them at various stores within the MD/VA/DC area, but all were at full price. Quite a few of the stores I visited did clearance them, but it appeared that most were sold prior to reaching the .03 level. I eventually bought one at full price and did a return/rebuy with the permission of my local manager. Whereas it had reached the penny level when I took it in, agreed to buy it at the last clearance price - $25.03. Haven't had an opportunity to use it yet, but it is sitting in the garage with my 10" Ryobi, which I purchased approximately 30 years ago (and it is still running strong after being used to renovate at least 3 homes to date).

I was just denied the other day by corporate, telling me they do NOT have to sell it for a penny. 4 moen faucets.

Seems like every other person in corporate has their own opinion. Same thing with every manager, every head cashier, etc. I'm beginning to think that there is NO policy whatsoever about penny items.

I even brought up the fact that last time corporate emailed the policy to a manager, to which she denied.

I'll try and find the name and phone number that she gave me. The people that I know in the store say they were told at that meeting that they have to sell it if it makes it up to the register. Last week I found a chemical that went to a penny, they denied it at the register but when the manager came she said that they had to sell it to me.

Bought the chain saw and ryobi blower. Still had last clearance tags on it with lots of security tags. So I decided to use reg check out with cashier. This lady was tripping balls when it was bring up $35 and $40 price. She told me she could not sell it to me and how the sku wasn't matching up. I requested manager. Manager came and scan all and apologize and told me the old fart cashier didn't know. She then took like 20 min trying to take off the security tags...smh.

If something is at .06 level and the tag says 03/02/16, when can I expect it to go to .03?

yes sir checked 2 of the stores closest to me i am willing to drive out a bit if I know they have it- how can I check

For those compressors. The only way to know is to check the store, period. They aren't listed in the mobile app and HD.com will show them as discontinued. It *****, but that's what you gotta do. Unless someone else near you wants to hook you up.
