Leave tom and stay at Biltmore until Monday and then go to some expensive resort called Grove Park Inn. Leave on Friday. Not sure if it is worth the 15 mpg less I get on suv versus sedan. Not to mention breaking away from family vacation to shop would put me in doghouse real quick.

Sold mine on ebay a while back for roughly $190! He should be able to get that.
How much did you pay for shipping on ebay? I see plenty on craigslist for 120-140. Only one for 175.

Yeah Im not quite sure how much profit is involved if you have to ship one. Maybe if 190 is the sale price BEFORE shipping, then OK but I cant see people spending 190 at this point since they are cheaper elsewhere (CL, other ebay auctions, etc)

My goal is usually to double my money. So if I paid 45 for a compressor, Id like to NET 90. For that to happen on Ebay I need to sell it for a minimum of 110 before shipping. They weigh about 40lbs each and the box is pretty big (although you wouldnt need to second-box it)...Id have to figure 40 or 50 to ship it if you wanted a fixed shipping cost.

Which means someone needs to be willing to pay 150-160 for it off Ebay. Looking at sold items it seems a few with "free shipping" have gone for more than that so I suppose its possible, I just wouldnt depend on it happening quickly.

Staying in a holiday inn ~103 a night. Couldn't justify those prices just for a bed. At least the HI has an indoor pool. Enjoy your trip. I've been before but it's a first for the wife.

What are you all reselling the compressors before and listed on craiglists or where else? I know where I could grab 10 if I wanted but not sure I want to spend the time flipping.

If they are 45.00 each and you gave them away on CL for just 90.00, youd still net 450.00 profit.

I would figure 125 might be a good listing price on CL, 150 if you want to push it.

You could try flipping Pressure Washers..I can't keep em more than a day before gone..EASILY so far doing 2-3 per day.At about a $75 profit!

Hit the two in Asheville stores on my way back from trout fishing on Sunday. Didn't find anything. Been to both about 4 times the last two months and never found anything good. West Asheville had 2 husky compressors in the rafters when I was there on the 25th. Forgot to check for them on Sunday since they hadn't dropped.

If I told you what they flipped for last month on Amazon you would be disgusted.

This math can't be correct.

Ebay is an odd duck. Its amazing what the "thrill of the auction" seems to do with prices for items. End up WAY over retail, etc.

I remember I got a bunch of something from HD for 10.00, it was a long discontinued item so pricing history was not available.

Used a BIN price and no one bit.

Used an auction format with starting price just below the BIN and no one bought.

Used a really low starting price and after a 5 day auction it ended up going for 50% more than the original BIN.

-14.00 ebay fees im a power seller so I get a 2% discount
-5.38 PP fees
155.62 -61.51 (what I paid)
94.11

I charged 15.00 for shipping
shipping was 8-9 each
box was 1.00
bubble wrap

so close to 100 profit
Adding 15.00 shipping didn't know that part.
