For anyone that bought the 52" tool chests...Did the 2 boxes fit between the wheel wells of the pickup? They should, according to the measurements:
Packaged dimensions (approximate comes in 2 separate boxes):
chest- 56 in. W x 22 in. D x 26.2 in. H and 146 lbs.
cabinet- 56 in. W x 22 in. D x 37.8 in. H

Can anyone confirm?
thanks

The way mine was packaged, it fit on the pallet between the wheel wells on my F-150.

It should be the same one you have pictured. What I was questioning was the "quiet", but I don't think any of these are formally labeled that as the description says. Since they are all the same db limit though it's a moot point.

Yea I don't think they are the "quiet" version, but the oiled version is much softer on the ears for some reason. Something with the oil less ones resonates louder.

That's normally the case with oil being quiet and having a longer life expectancy. Just remember to read the break in instructions. Couldn't believe how many metal particles came out with the compressor oil.

(My instructions on breakin was to run it with valve open for 20-30 minutes then drain the oil)

Congrats  on getting the compressors- I've hit at least 5 stores with no luck
They're a steal at $110

I think you are right. It seems like it's more of a deep chugging sound than an higher pitch annoying clapping.

Ive always attributed most of it to the fact that the motor and pump are "disconnected" from the top of the tank and not resonating directly into/onto it like an oil-less.

I got the 3 piece brushless kit, I guess its the "large" ToughCase? I had a bunch of the small and XL cases on CL for a while but have sold most of them (got them at 18 each from HD).

After opening one of the 3 piece kits Im seriously considering keeping one myself. My "backup" tools are currently Ryobi, but this DeWalt set is pretty impressive for $140, between the nice case and the compact tools themselves.

What's the sku number on the dewalt set?

Im wondering if pre-selling on CL isnt a great idea....with 13 of them there, is it possible its a new version with the old SKU, that would end up ringing up at full price?
Already bought and paid for with 13 individual will call orders set for this Saturday and Sunday and next Saturday and Sunday

Found two EGO trimmers keeping them well at least one my father in law might want the second one. Had to hit two different stores. The first store had it in the garden section for months when I saw it I was surprised since it had the 45 dollar clearance tag on it. The second store had two in the garden section but when I got there only one left. That one had the old sticker. Oh the Pelican coolers are back but these are the larger 65 quart ones for 299 each. I've seen RTIC brand coolers online that are almost half the price and perform better on video reviews.

Yeah I have been seeing the 65qt coolers at stores around here for awhile now at the $299 tag. I will be watching them to see how they drop. The RTIC coolers and products are nice, I have a tumbler to replace my Yeti that I lost and for half the price it's the same exact thing! The coolers are copies of Yeti and don't carry the huge name so they sell for less.

I will be keeping an eye out for more coolers as I'm heading down to Key West this weekend, I'll check out the KW HD while I'm down there. :rocker:

And how the hell does one store have 13 52" tool boxes? Not even on the floor trying to be sold. I would be super pissed if I was corporate and would lay the smack down on some of these managers. I guess this is all good for us though. I haven't seen 1 tool box, chest or compressor down here. Seems like nothing last's to .03 pricing and most of the time not even .06

Picked up another 30 gallon husky compressor earlier...showed 0 in stock but was sitting on the sales floor with the correct price on it. Surprised it was still there if they dropped earlier this week.

Also found one of the 16" Homelite saws last night. Again inventory showed zero but there it was hidden in the top stock.

I had taken a small break of not going in stores as much since the holiday season as a lot of the local deals dried up. Seems like the deals are picking up with the weather!!

Just curious to anybody in the know, how do the Husky and Dewalt tool chests rate against any that Harbor Freight sells? Just curious because those seem to be pretty popular as well and not really all that cheap.

HF = better than Husky. More sturdy / thicker gauge metal. Not sure about the Dewalt but I would think it's comparable to the Husky...HF being superior.

I have 2 of the HF bottom chests built into a workbench and the 41" Husky combo that went on clearance last fall. Both are great for the money I paid but if paying retail prices I would choose the HF.

I use a 27in Husky in the trailer and after a couple years of basic use it is beginning to fall apart. The top chest lock fell off within a couple weeks of ownership and the side table handle has been loose for sometime.

The regular huskies are okay, nothing special. The metal gauge is too thing to be considered good. The dewalt one is much nicer, I would say on par or slightly less than the us general boxes at HF. I mean, you get what you pay for usually. I personally really like the Kalamazoo boxes, which are a bargain, too right for my blood.

yep, the 3piece brushless case has that plastic drop in thing that sits on the tools... the 3piece brushed set lacks the drop in, instead it has a nice contraption that locks into the lid and folds down with the press of a button. it makes the case a lot more compact. i plan to keep that case and likely ditch the rest of the brushed stuff. the larger case from the brushed set is more suited for things other than drills imo. definitely a keeper though. may be good if you like hauling around an extremely comprehensive set of bits with your drills though.

my only concern with using the set as an extremely awesome backup set is the battery size/runtime. the compact '18-20v' brushless stuff nowadays makes more power than full size drills did just a couple yrs ago, so thats not a concern. definitely more power than i ever need.. plus its a hammer drill... cant go wrong at all. i will just be on the lookout for a deal on a larger dewalt battery. just in case i need more runtime.. brushless should be good on the batteries but who knows what will happen during use, since dewalt gives no meaningful specs.

i must have missed the sale on the cases... im impressed by them. they are about as nice and rugged as the husky technician's case from january-ish clearances

Was just unloading the recent 30 gallon I got earlier and it is actually the newer model C302H....wow.

Has model on the tank 'VIN' sticker and also is 155psi compared to 135psi. The hang tag with price sticker doesn't have the model number but indicates 150psi but same sku as the older C301H 135 psi.

These seem to be using the same sku and the only thing givng indication of price difference is the HD Barcode sticker the place on the hang tag. No barcode on the compressor at all.

Interesting...

Was this the pegboard that went clearance a little while ago? I see it on HD's website and it says $50.00 but not carried in stores. I checked the PCA and nothing comes up.
