How are you still finding epoxy kits? haha

I know, right?

They had 6 of them up in overhead at one point. I bought 4 of them and one day (a few weeks ago) the other 2 were gone. I assumed someone finally wised up and pulled them or another person actually bought them.

Sure enough this morning, there they are on the floor in front of the paint dept on their clearance table. Since they were nice enough to get them down for me I was nice enough to buy them for a penny each.

Spoke to the SCO while I was looking at equipment rentals. He was off duty and looking at the same dethatcher I was. At first just thought it was a random guy and then another employee spoke to him, blah blah blah.
anyways. I brought up clearance items and the 52" he had. He explained to me that it is hard to stop the employees from hiding clearance. They try their best, but they already work 50-60hr weeks managing minimum wage people on top of having to work the aisle similar to any other employee.
He also said the reason for the clearance is different from store to store is based on what people buy. He said he sells a **** ton of tool boxes and cant remember putting one on clearance cause they sell at full price. He said other stores have to clearance them cause they aren't big sellers and to make room for new product.

I was at a store yesterday buying 3 wink relays at the customer service/returns counter and had 1 penny 15ft extension cord. She scanned the 3 relays and i almost forgot I had the cord under my arm and she noticed it and asked "that too?" So I handed it to her she scanned it, looked at the screen and gave me my total. No fuss, not a word about not being able to sell, nothing about it being recalled, no last clearance price. Now debating if I should go grab the 2 boxes of ten sitting high on the shelf, and take them to the same CSR.

I hear good and bad things about the Rustoleum type kits. Some people have great success where it lasts forever, doesnt chip or peel, etc. Other people have no success.

Im using the tan stuff to do the floor in my unfinished basement and the gray stuff for my garage.

Ive also heard that putting the clearcoat over it (even if you dont want the shiny look) helps the durability because the clearcoat is always solvent-based. The epoxy thats on clearance is mostly water based (there is a solvent based one on clearance but I dont think its pennied out, and its very hard to find)

Found one today just laying around in the wrong section. Marked $249 on the box, but rang up $69.03

Sitting on 3 of these. Thought it would be a quick flip as they only have 2-3 per store and it's a name brand. Apparently not. Prices are dirt cheap on these.

Kind of a specialized tool and not sure how fast they wear out, so its questionable how fast they will sell even with a brand name on them.

Yup. Saw them going for ~$100 brand new on eBay. BTW, if anyone local wants it, I found it at the West Kendall Home Depot (157 Ave and 88 st). Looked like it was the only one in stock.

Must have come down some then. I was seeing $140 this weekend. Had a store with 3 still in the packing box on the shelf above the tools. Was hoping they'd survive but checked and lunch and gone. MET was all over place but they PCA said 0 so guessing someone got them. To small a box to go scavenger hunting either.

Don't feel to bad about not getting at .03 if they aren't moving. Same store still showed 32 of the penny husky bins that I tried to get. Wonder where they put them so I can try a different tactic :)

Wasn't in inventory should be an easy flip.

Manager says they have a new policy. No matter what items get thrown out or donated to local charities when they reach a penny. Just need to find a new employee to get these down as I assume all 6 are pennies since they aren't in the system.

Same store has at least one employee hiding inventory or stealing. Mainly chainsaws, toolbox, powerwasher as the inventory count is off and I know for a fact where the items were a few days ago.

Maybe the employee owns the dumpster or a local charity :)

Sounds like my local store. Dropped by during lunch and saw the Habitat truck loading stuff up and 4-5 MET team members resetting a section in paint.

compressor is 50.03

cart is the new one, you have to put the 1001 in when checking the SKU

I know it's 50. Bought it.

Think you're wrong on the cart as the pallet with the other 4 has black friday tags in the wrapping. The new ones are a different number. I put the 1001 in front and it didn't show.

Those were still $63.03 yesterday

The greenlee ones sell the klein wont

Why is that, just sold 500.00 worth of stuff to an electrician (or claimed to be) showed him the knockouts and he said he'd buy 'em if he didn't already have a few sets on each truck already. Said they were good sets though.....dunno.....

also the greenlee are USA made the Klein are mexico greenlee are old stock as the Klein replaced them

I have not posted the two Klein I got yet so I cannot comment on the resale value. However, the package says Made in USA and each die is stamped with that as well. Just from inspecting them while taking pictures, the Kleins look to be a very well made USA set. I am pondering keeping 1 set to use for general fabrication on garage projects.

From my perspective Greenlee seems to be a better known name and that has a lot do do with how an item sells. Seems as good a reason as any why the Greenlee would be going for more.

Spotted this earlier in the week. I have no need for them though. I wonder if they are flippable.

Some of us don't have HD where there r 100s of ppl in it all the time. At all of the ones near me there is someone there 100% of the time. Hell I've even had ppl go up and distract them to no avail. Some of the post that ppl post on here make me so jealous. Also, I think a lot are spoiled thinking all HD r like the ones you go into and don't have issues. With that being said, I'm jealous but also glad u guys r getting the deals. Just wish it was easier around me. To give u idea here are a couple pics that will give u idea of where my stores are at... Pretty sure I would have to go back a couple hundred pages in the 2015 thread to see where u guys where getting these for pennies.. uploadfromtaptalk1461243817424.jpguploadfromtaptalk1461243829158.jpguploadfromtaptalk1461243836637.jpg

Just noticed the schlage digi keypads going on clearance around here. Too bad inventory levels are no where near what they were when everyone else was buying them on clearance.

Nothing amazing but just a heads up...

While shopping in home depot today I heard one employee tell another employee that the "Rheem" filters had hit penny status... Just FYI in case you are in the market. Unfortunately I was unable to obtain a SKU.
