Bought a bunch of Kwikset handles/locks today. They finally reached .03 status. All of the schlage stuff is still at .06.

I was playing dumb with one employee today. I asked her if they got first dibs on clearance items and she said that the item had to be on the floor for 24 hrs before they could buy it.

Just wanted to post a quick note thanking DumpyTHRASHER for his help. While he was out gathering his loot, he was successful in finding three 52" Husky 11 DWR Tool Boxes. He knew that I was out and about looking for them as well, and graciously offered me one, which he paid for and arranged for it to be held until I could pick it up via Will Call.
Had a little problem picking it up this morning - they moved it out of the rafters where it was supposed to be stored until pickup (location was confirmed on Tuesday evening via telecom) and hid it in Receiving without telling anyone (makes you wonder if someone planned on abscounding with it via the backdoor). Tried to obtain help in locating the box from Customer Service - and got absolutely none. Customer Service Rep just kept telling me that they had none in the system and there was nothing he could do (makes you wonder if he was the one hoping to take it home). Asked for a Manager after getting no help from the CS employee . After about 1 1/2 hours, the MOD was successful in finding it. Manager was really helpful and tried to do all he could to resolve the issue, even offerring me a new 41" Tool Box/Chest if we didn't find my box (wouldn't give me two - but I had to ask given that I was being shorted 11"). He also looked into replacing it with the new 52" box, but they had none in stock.
After finding my box he apologized for the lack of help I received prior to his arrival and agreed to refund me half of the money I paid for the box. So all told I got the tool box for $66.21.
Now off to find one of the 52" 10 DWR Mobile Chest to compliment the new box (and a place to set two of the 6 DWR toolboxes I bought a while ago when they were at the $25.03 and penny levels. Saw a lot of the newer 52" 9 DWR Mobile Boxes today, so the hunt is still on......

Actually will have to go back to the bricks soon so having fun while I can..When that starts my HD shopping will be DRASTICALLY cut.Depends on the employee..I had one actually take me to some penny locks yesterday just to show me tags, but they were gone. Helps to get cool with some of them.

Went to a store today that inventory said they had 5 makita hammerdrill/impact and 7 makita drill/impact combos, both $165, on hand, no home. Looked every inch of that store besides receiving, couldnt find them. You think 12 makita huge boxes were stolen? Or does HD's computer stock count stink that much?

Were they not in the system, or just no longer showing up under clearance? They quickly disappeared from the clearance items on the PCA where I got mine, and went right to "inactive" and full price.
so i've come to the conclusion that my local store is absolutely on top of clearing out marked down items (i also have the feeling that employees are letting friends know when things get marked down to .03). never found a penny item yet, however the wife pointed out today a new building directly across from our HD.... a habitat for humanity center.

I have to say that I wish I could have grabbed one of those Paslode nailer. I would have been more then happy to pay the $100 price. I looked at my store and they were gone. And the other stores are over an hour drive away. Maybe one of these days.
2 weeks ago sold mine for $400. But it was a new open box that I scored for $225. I asked for 25% off it and a open box 6800. It was new as well, and manager gave it to me no questions asked. 6800 is mine.
A little money to be made,but will be better after next price drop if they are still around. I like to keep product moving. Especially this week with 11% rebate going on. Buy,sell,then buy more!

they might be the ones up front where the Upper and lower have different SKUs, but the set has a third SKU, and they are only sold as a set

About the same at one area store. At the 03 level met team was fixing it up and repricing.Looks like they are moving some of the tools around. Maybe they will mark something down.

Those are the seperate ones. The top is clearanced for $38.03 and the bottom is $63.03 unless they pennied already.
Only other explanation is the computer was unable to reach the server at the time he checked. I have had a few instances where the computer worked fine and I was able to search 1 item but then when I tried another item all I got was item not found thought I had a penny went to sco and it was still .03 checked the sku in the computer another day and it showed up.

Mine has a 2D battery Maglite LED with two batteries for $5.03. I thought about it but look at some videos online and they are not very good. Maglites vs. a $40 Fenix, it's not even close. Maglites were great 20 yrs ago but they really missed the LED market and have never even come close to catching up yet.
If the maglite hits a penny, I'll get it just for the batteries but probably won't until then.

I love things like that story. What was really in it for the ***** supervisor? He risks his job, possible prison, etc. for so little gain while everyone else has much less risk.
95% of criminals are stupid that's the only reason why the get caught.
We do not know what arrangement he had with the employees, it could have been 30-50% of the revenue they made on the stolen items. And I am sure he will be facing charges.
Don't take a news story at face value, lol.
