Mine has a 2D battery Maglite LED with two batteries for $5.03. I thought about it but look at some videos online and they are not very good. Maglites vs. a $40 Fenix, it's not even close. Maglites were great 20 yrs ago but they really missed the LED market and have never even come close to catching up yet.

If the maglite hits a penny, I'll get it just for the batteries but probably won't until then.

If you can find the Inova NiteIze headlamp on clearance it is a great deal. No buttons, you just swipe left or right to turn on the main lamp or the red leds. I posted it earlier. It was 34, now 8.83. sku 1000043819
Most stores in my area don't have stock, and the few that do have it a full price.

We do not know what arrangement he had with the employees, it could have been 30-50% of the revenue they made on the stolen items. And I am sure he will be facing charges.

Don't take a news story at face value, lol.

True. It's amazing how bad some people are at their jobs yet they keep them. i.e. the news, weather people, etc.

I picked up a coast head lamp at lowes for under $7 for a friend. I have the same, it's pretty good for the small amount of time I use it.

Is the 33 gallon air compressor on clearance too? Thought it was just the 30 gallon

someone posted a few pages ago that it was at some .00 level... not exactly a steal of a deal yet. pretty sure it was in a pic, so good luck searching. i think i quoted the pic and typed 'grasshopper' so that is probably a decent search term for it.

Was at home depot earlier and I found a ryobi chainsaw for a penny. Price check app said there was one left. Searched high and low to no avail. Boohoo. You guys got any tips on to where they store the penny deals?

Like for example, the chainsaw. Should they be somewhere up in the chainsaw aisle? Or are they just scattered all over the store up in the rafters?

the 'rayovac indestructible' line will take an absolute beating fwiw. youtube it.
theyre not the best in terms of light output but they are more than serviceable and you cant beat them in terms of the combo of rugged + utility + price < imo >

first place to look is in the chainsaw aisle, then the aisle next to the chainsaw aisle, then the clearance caps, then random places in the middle of the main front aisle and middle main aisle, then the ryobi cap, then all of the overheads in every aisle, then the back aisle, and lastly dont forget garden < for somethin outdoors-ish like a chainsaw you might want to check outside sooner rather than later >.
so yeah. whole store.
and at the end when you dont find it, someone either hid it, stole it, or counted wrong. if you just read this then you graduated 'hd 101'.

Yea they have a generic motor now. I don't know who makes it. I sold 6 last week. 180 seems to be a good price point.

Nice! I figured I'd let somebody beat me down to $175. How much were you able to pick yours up for? Are you listing at $180 and holding strong? PCA says there's 1 in the store with the Honda engine for $29 but I can't find it. Maybe the stock is off? I'd really like to find that one. Funny thing is I found this one in the overhead tucked behind some other stuff and it wasn't showing up on the PCA.

Usually that 1 available is store model. Check the used section also, or the "clearance coral" in the garden center.

I didn't move on price at all. Had it up for 100 and everyone kept saying 180. So I just put it at 180 and moved them. 99 picked up but I had a ton of coupons which sucked because I could have used those.

I'm new at this but I just want to make sure I am getting the hang of it and know what to keep my eye out for. So thanks in advance.... so I saw some people getting the husky 52" 10 drawer work bench for 75.03, my local stores still had it a full price. So does that mean I need to wait for it to drop to the .06/.04 level and then with-in a few more weeks it will drop to the .03/.02 level? in other words, items never drop to the .03/.02 without going to the .06/.04 first?

I picked mine up for $99, listed on CL for $200, and sold it for $200 within two weeks. I had a few offers of $125-$150, and would have settled for $180, but got lucky with someone who didn't even haggle.

If it is not on clearnce now it may go on clearance soon or it may stay regular price if they keep the item in stock.

When it does go on clearance it may drop to another .00 price before dropping to .06/.04 then it will drop to a .03/.02 but they are changing up the clearance pricing so who knows for sure at this point. Some things havr a .07 tag not sure what that goes to maybe .05 i havent seen it drop yet.

They're usually on a shelve in the back corner of the store. The Isle is labeled penny items on the sign.

That's weird. Managers usually sell it for the last clearance price. Might be purchasing it for himself?

Picked up a stray Homelite pressure washer for $99. Model #UT80522G SKU 667269. Doesn't have the Honda motor though.

Best I can tell HD sold them for $279, but had a BF sale at $199. Got it listed on CL for $200, see if I get any bites..

I picked up two of these at $99.00 each. Gave one to my brother for cost and sold the other for $180.00 within two days. Plenty of offers at $150.00. This is a great time of year to move these.

Nothing amazing but just a heads up...

While shopping in home depot today I heard one employee tell another employee that the "Rheem" filters had hit penny status... Just FYI in case you are in the market. Unfortunately I was unable to obtain a SKU.

Swiffer Air Filters are on sale in the south.

This is why we cant have nice things....

Nice. That's what I'm talking about! I'll give a "loan"

Probably a "white friday deal" I used to have a buddy that liked that nose candy that would HOOK IT UP come Friday afternoon lol

 Nice find if you got a use for it. Keep on hunting, reading, and sharing here, you'll get the hang of it.

I'm rough on... Everything. I've had a smaller (2 aa powered) Rayovac "indestructible" light floating around for about 4 years now, and while the rubber ends are a little beaten it still works flawlessly.

I've been playing with the new light in the yard, it'll light up the side of the shop from 300' away or so. For $6, with batteries, I'm quite pleased with it. It's no sure fire, of course, but still a damn fine light. I'd have probably been happy with it if I'd paid full price (but I've a weakness for flashlights).

For others selling local, what outlets are you using? I have been using Craigslist and Offerup. Majority of action coming from Offerup. Wondering if anyone else was using Letgo or any other mobile apps?

yea i got 3 of those ones that take C's. i havent cracked them open though. i did crack open the husky unbreakable 1000lumen. i am not as familiar with the huskies. quality seems ok, but its a huge light and the extra lumens doesnt really justify the size for me. would be interesting to see a stress test on it...

i am really happy with the coast pen lights at 2bucks

Finally getting a bit of action, picked up 3 52" tool boxes this week and a 20 gallon oil less compressor. Saw some chainsaws but they still are hovering at the 100ish clearance pricing. I would love to get one of the dewalt or bosch jobsite table saws that are clearing out in some places. all the stores by me seem to be the last on planet earth to drop to clearance.

Craigslist and Offerup. I've found being persistent sometimes pays off. I don't know how many times I have people on both CL & offerup say they want something but then stop messaging. I keep asking them if they are still interested. Definitely pays off at times.

I have one guy who is a repeat customer on several different items lol.

Yup, got 1 like this as well..Have sold him about 5-6 52" tool chests,drills,3 30 gallon compressors, and can't remember what else. he;s got LOTS of friends and family and when I get to his house my knot of cash is being handed to me before i get outta my truck!!! Likes me to send him pics before I drop it on Offerup. Which is my favorite way too sell now. Craigslist, rarely gives me any success.

When I was sellng pressure washers at $175-180 ish, would be gone in hours on offerup!

offerUp seems to be the most action right now. Also having good luck on the Facebook yard sale pages. Lots of repeat customers.

I sometimes grab a spot at a local flea market on Saturday or Sunday for about $20 when things really pile up and can move a lot at the right markets. Haven't done that in about a year but probably will soon. You just need to know your markets - some are good for tools, antiques, some are very lowball on prices. Note that many flea markets don't allow all new items, some require tax info, etc. Shop the local markets and talk to the folks that run them. If you pick the right markets you make money. Pick the wrong ones and you just get lowball offers all day.

Just to keep this a little on track - DMV has seen all the same stuff reported here - husky boxes, chainsaws, tool sets. Picked up 4 penny 200 pc tool sets with box the other day. I knew things were going well when the guy who went up the ladder couldn't figure out how to get the net out of the way to get the tool sets. I had to tell him how to open the net and of course he didn't check the price. They gave them to me. I don't usually hunt pennies but I can make an exception. I bought 12 the week before at $25.03 each.

Craigslist, OfferUp and Wallapop here. I listed a used smart phone on all three and immediately got two spam/scam contracts on Wallapop.

Thought about trying wallapop, but I get a ton of action of Offerup as well. I really like their feedback feature too as it helps weed out the scammers and no showers. Offerup is the method of choice from everyone's replies here.

Had to go to work this morning so I decided to stop by a different store afterwards. Compressor was showing ZERO in stock and chainsaw was way up high with old clearance sticker on it

Old guy that assisted me in getting the compressor down said "that's a really good price, good thing It didn't get down to a penny or we couldn't have sold it." He then asked if I was going around to every store and buying them all.

Make sure you look reeaaaaalll good up top. Compressor had a pallet on top and bottom and was completely shrink wrapped with no SKU or anything visible.

Computer also said that there was a 30 gallon on hand as well as a pressure washer but I couldn't find either.

I've been selling most things on OfferUp and Craigslist.

I was missing lots of offers on Craigslist due to them being pushed buried behinds tons of other **** in my inbox. Didn't feel comfortable putting my real number in my contact info, so I downloaded TextFree. It gives you a real phone number with your area code with free unlimited texting and 10 free voice minutes.

Adding this number to my Craigslist contact info seems to have made a ton of difference. I'm getting way more offers and much better response times using TextFree.

I kept hearing commercials for "5miles" on local radio and just downloaded it the other day and I really like it so far. Seems to have a similar sized user base as OfferUp, plus several more features that OfferUp doesn't have, like logging meeting/appointment times in the app.
