Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

Don't forget about the Milwaukee bit sets they are down to 5.02. I picked up three of them today, leaving about 9 behind.

Did you complain to the store that the yellow price tags were no help and they needed to say what the current price is not the price on the tag?

You ****!

Store near me has three of these 36"? boxes still at full price  Is there a sku for the combo instead of top and bottom separate?

are you anywhere near Atlanta and want to sell one to a new home owner?

I would like to know how you are getting those big items out the store as pennies. I have ALWAYS been denied, and most of the time denied even the last clearance price. My only penny hope is self checkout.

You gotta shop in daisy dukes and a belly shirt. Nobody will question you.

What have you tried to get out that was too big?

(3) 36" tool chests for a penny is freaking incredible!!!!!! I love it. Let's us know that it IS possible to pull that stuff off. I've gotten my share of penny items but nothing quite this large..LOL

Pressure washers, Shop vacs, Chainsaws.... The latest was a generator.
I try to use self checkout whenever possible but somethings are too BIG to lift. And the homelite chainsaws have the damn bar-code in the middle of the box next to the blade. It is a pain to get the self checkout scanner to read it.
Anything big always causes the SCO to come over to "Help..."
I've talked to managers and they always refer to their "made up BS policy". Most lately have said once it hits a penny they don't make exceptions, it will not be sold, even for last clearance.
I have NEVER been allowed to slide through with penny items when having to deal it an employee.

The biggest thing I have gotten out scanning myself were 2 swingset slides. I cut the barcode out of the box and scanned it. Had no issues.

Had an employee scan a top and bottom 34" Husky chest that they let me have for a penny. Actually she only scanned one piece, then called a manager and let me go without ever making me pay for the second piece.

Get them fast. They won't show up on the Homedepot computer in any of my locations, but I was able to get them for a penny. New cashier at SCO. :rocker:

They're not selling well but for a penny you can't lose.

Found 2.5 pallets full of the ugliest Hampton Bay vanity light I've ever seen. All pennies. I started by asking for 2........got them no prob. They left the ladder there so I grabbed 2 more (very tip top shelf). Then decided it just wasn't worth it because they're so ugly and have no value.

I just bought one of the dewalt 52" for $200 (last clearance price) and they wouldnt even get it down till I paid for it since it had to be done with one of the heavy hoists. No chance at getting it for a penny.

Seems to me that there isn't much most stores can say if you have your receipt. Have been told several times " we cant sell that to you for that" I politely inform them that "you already sold it to me...." Seems to help if you hit them with a truck load of stuff to load up. 90% of the time they get busy tracking down help or a fork lift driver n what not and don't check the receipt until its loaded up. I always snap a picture of the receipt before handing it over to anyone too in case they try and make it disappear. Hasn't happened yet but makes me feel better when they ask to see it.
