I thought about giving it to my sister for a housewarming gift. Called my parents to see if they knew if she already had one or if they think she would want it. My dad said screw that I'll buy it from you

You guys have me totally intrigue, hit 3 stores yesterday but didn't find anything.

It's a little tough around the KC area. There are quite a few hunters on here, including myself, and we don't have that many stores around us.

I work nights out of my house, on the computer, so I have every day free to hit stores and every night I browse the forums / web to hunt for deals. I hit Bannister, Belton, Midtown, Independence, Blue Springs and Lee Summit on a regular basis, sometimes daily, and still I usually only find stuff 1 out of every 4 or 5 trips, so someone is beating me to the stores. I rarely go to Kansas as a little birdie told me that a lady that works at one of the stores around the Overland Park area hooks her son up on all the deals. He could be cleaning out Missouri as far as I know.

Ur not looking hard enough. I bet I could walk in and come out with a cart full of pennies.

(Kidding). Every store has their good days and bad days.

I won't have a lot of time so I'm planning in case there's a line for the computer. At our local store it's not uncommon to see three or four people waiting to use it. Back on the road after some coffee thanks again

Never wait on computer. Go to another one.

Even though I've been reading GJ for 2+ years, I've recently taken an interest in this thread and have tried to read most of it. I enjoy the hunt even though I haven't had much luck in the last month or so I began searching.

My question is, how do I know if another GJ'er is clearing out the HDs before I can even look? I noticed most people don't list their locations. I'm not looking to compete, only wondering if I'm wasting my time to a much more experienced searcher.

I actually found my first .03 deal today (pry bars), and I'm in the Hampton Roads area of VA.

I took a look at the tool section of the local Craigslist. It was flooded with HD deals

Cant be everywhere at once- but I understand where your coming from. We have some heavy hitters in this thread near me- but you can find them on Craigslist even if they don't want their area to be known on here. Sadly it may involve extra mileage to get out of the reach of there talons but every set of eyes will see something different- just hope it's your day

Found 40 or so sitting in a cart by lighting but couldn't even get the first one past SCO attendant. Wouldn't let it go for less than $8 each. Image1462930491.512953.jpg

That's considered an advertised price, would have been worth fighting if you were up to it. Probably wouldn't of hurt to have called the number either hard for them to argue if it has the 1 cent sticker on it.

I thought about it, but it was late and I just didn't feel like fighting it.

Not worth the call. The items were in the MET cart in the process of being pulled off the shelves and taken to the back.

Homelite eletric blower were clearanced at one store, $8.03 or $8.33 reg price is $32.97

Other store around still have them at full price.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Homelite-150-mph-233-CFM-7-Amp-Electric-Blower-Sweeper-UT42100B/203732347

Smaller than most I think, decent little blower for light stuff. I have a big backpack for leaves so I'll use this for blowing off the car after I wash it. Gave another to a friend.

These pennied out last week at one store near me but still full price in other stores here as well. Was able to pick up two at the penny price.

Also found these Homelite hedge trimmers, grass shrubbers, and grass shears for a penny at a few stores but still full price at others:

You aren't lying by saying you travel a lot! I will be in between Mobile and BR Friday. Thoughts on stores?

I am also trying to track down those GE link indoor floods, so if you see any and aren't going to pick them up in the BR area give me a holler if you don't mind.

-2 Maglite Mini kits for $6.33 (only ones left on shelf)

- Porter-Cable 23 gauge pin nailer dropped from $113 last week to $78 today. Been looking for one so I picked up the last one except for the display.

The stores here in the southeast are replacing the PC pin nailer, the tool manager wasn't sure with what yet. Also, as seen above, a lot of the DeWalt Roofing and framing nailer are on clearance as HD is replacing them with the new Milwaukee Nailers.

There's one or two guys on here from Baton Rouge. I work right by Baton Rouge but live by New Orleans. I'm not after any of the GE links I bought for the A19s today, I think it was somewhere around Beaumont Texas, and only got those just to mess with Wink. I would try to two stores in Slidell definitely. I normally avoid the Covington store because it's a rich area and they hate yellow tags. As far as Baton Rouge the two stores on the airline Highway you should have the most luck at. There is a store in Zachary about 20 minutes north of Baton Rouge you might want to check out as well.

I haven't been home much lately to check most of these stores out. I'm currently on my way home from northern Oklahoma.

And I'll let you know if I come across some GE links

Found 3 of these medicine cabinets in 3 different stores, penny each. Regular price is $140. According to my calculations these just dropped last night.

They are in a big white box with the word "Zenith" on them. Kinda heavy, but still doable to go through SCO

Different stores have different mark down days. All the stores near me mark down on these days: (Monday night after closing / Tuesday morning before store opening) and (Wednesday night after closing / Thursday morning before store opening.

Is it typically the MET team that does this?

Also, I've noticed at my local store, that the vast majority of clearance items are located in two places, on the end caps. Very little, if any, are actually located in their "home" department. Some of that may be due to size, and the fact that they would take up too much space on an end cap, like the Husky floor jacks. Is is not the norm for most stores to segregate all the clearance items like this?

I found display and no go...full retail... I just bought some top 2 weeks ago and now its back to full price from .03 to penny...now back to full msrp..

anybody else noticed that and know why it stayed on penny for short time before back to msrp price..

On Monday, I discovered that it's possible to use the "back" button to circumvent the "Please See Attendant" screen if the button is present. Whether or not the button is present is dependent on the reason the "Please See Attendant" screen popped up.

I haven't got busted with any penny items since I tried getting a shopping cart full of Malibu lights through the SCO until Monday. So, the only times I've thought to look for the "back" button when the "Please See Attendant" screen has popped up have been when the SCO cashier has scanned something large/awkward that I'm not trying to sneak through. The "back" button is never present after the cashier has manually scanned an item.

This Monday I tried getting a handful of the penny CE-TECH **** through the SCO. The girl was busy helping someone when I got there, but I saw her walking back to the computer out of the corner of my eye. A short while later the "Please See Attendant" screen popped up. I didn't turn around or try to get her attention, because I've had it flash for a few seconds and then go away on its own. This was not one of those times. I figured I was screwed until I saw the "back" button. The message immediately went away after I pressed it. I then resumed scanning the rest of my penny items, paid and bailed.

Right about the time I noticed the "back" button, she went to help another customer who was asking was calling for her and I was already walking out before she was done with them. Since she never had the opportunity to talk to me and I never looked at her to see if she appeared to be distressed about me continuing to ring up my stuff, I can't confirm that she locked the screen because she saw the items were ringing up for a penny.

While I can't say this will work every time you get stopped for a penny item, take a second to look for the "Back" button the next time you do. It's purple and located in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

Home Depot's prices are already relatively expensive. The cashier allowed me to walk away with a ceiling panel because the barcode was not registering in the system. I always have that strange feeling that majority of their items are inflated by $3-$5 dollars. Their $5 off $50 or more coupon is useless.
