Agreed..did it once and it felt sketchy a little doing it..Not knocking anyone that does of course..
Right now I got my eye on (8) 16" chainsaws that are on clearance rack for $99!!!Damn things just won't drop!So tempting to try a return,rebuy on em,but I believe they are pennied at MOST stores now anyway. As soon as they hit .06, bye bye

Oh, I agree with you..But they flip FAST. And at that point would be banking on doing a return/rebuy as soon as they dropped to .03 level.

2 penny 16" chainsaw blades. Unfortunately I have no use for them. I need 20", and my dad needs 14", unless he wants to throw a 16 on his 14" Echo CS 330T.
Stores around here won't let u do return rebuy in clearance items. They have always said it is company policy to not allow return rebuy on clearance items. Think it might be because of the Honda push lawn mowers last year or year before. 1 store had them like $100 or so if I remember right. Someone bought all 8 at ~$700 and did return rebuy at clearance stores. Since than no go on any clearance item return rebuy.

Damn. Maybe I can go back with my receipt and see if they have that here. I haven't seen it advertised.
Ever have any issues doing this? Do you just bring the receipt, or the actual item? Going to try this myself soon

I've done a return/rebuy on a clearance item twice. The first time was on the Gladiator tool chest where I bought it and a week later it dropped from $399 to $99. Was nowhere near the HD I bought it and they had no problem doing the R&R.
The second time was with a Dewalt table saw. Bought it and after about 60 days, the price dropped again so I went in with the receipt and asked if they could adjust. Like you said, they said no, not on clearance items bought over 30 days (or possibly 15 days) ago. This is obviously not going to stop people. Since I had already used the saw, I simply bought another one at the new low price and then returned it a few days later at another location using my old receipt that was under 90 days old.
Why don't they simplify thinks and put everything at the same price or on clearance at EVERY damn location?

Some items sit and some items sell- based on shelf space needed I guess it varies by store. I may attempt a return rebuy only since I wanted for myself- if I were flipping is be very Leary of that kind of volume

I did a R&R on the husky benches. Bought 2 at one store at $299 a piece. Attempted to return at a store with just receipt (they are 125lbs a piece awkward size to carry) and cashier asked the manager. He quickly said no. Next store I loaded them on a cart and told returns girl I wanted to return them. Once the return was processed I told her I wanted to buy them again. I told her I put them on a CC I shouldn't be using. Saved $450
Only my 3rd R&R. I have a few other items to do that once prices drop.

local Home depot has started a new clearance "area" they used to have the auto section up front its gone and replaced by a clearance area pretty much all the clearance from the store is put here

The closest HD to me has a clearance section and it's tough to get anything at .02 or .03 level. The dopes around here see a yellow tag, even if it's only a 10% discount and think it's a great deal and buy it.

yep this store and one other never has good deals, same lady runs the MET team at both stores and takes her job way to serious,
One store I was at I overheard an associate telling a customer to basically return and rebuy something. From what I gathered. They really need to implement a better policy.

Not even in stock in the 5 stores I checked over the past month. I need to install one to replace the old 763N with the stupid flapper in our bathroom.
Maybe I will get lucky and find one from a return at some point.

Thanks for the update on the Channellocks. Gonna see if I can snag some that I don't already have, but prices around here don't get adjusted until Tuesday/Wednesday. That also probably means that the Milwaukee pliers hit .03 since they went on .06 at the same time (I think?).

Pretty sure the stores in Mass are on the same schedule as up here, meaning Tuesday they start marking prices, and by Wednesday they're all marked.
Weird. I was south shore MA yesterday and everything i scanned for the Milwaukee Dewalt crescent and channellock .06 tags still scanned as .06 scanning by upc barcode on package

You went back to the store with your receipt to get the free batteries? While on a trip, I had purchased an M12 Fuel Kit from a HD that's about 3 hrs from where I live, but didn't know about the free 4ah battery promo going on until now. Hopefully, the store near me will honor the promo if I just show them my receipt.

Dewalt adjustable hit $3.33 grabbed the only one i saw in saugus. All the crescent Milwaukee and channellocks were gone
