It's amazing. It's like they strive to be the idiot with the lowest price just so they can make the sale.

I can't stand those aisle cameras. I'm looking for things, going back and forth and those stupid camera's keep beeping. Drive me nuts with the beep. I threw something over the sensor the other day just to shut it up while I was looking. They have plenty of overhead cameras and they still can't stop the crooks.

Four penny flash lights. Nothing special, but my best penny buy yet. I talked to the sweet lady who got down the two Husky job boxes last week and she said she did get in a little trouble. I apologized to her for that, but she said she just works a couple nights a week and they never showed her how to check the prices.

Has anyone installed one of these Defiant push button countdown timers? I picked one up at $5.03 tonight and plan to install it on our bathroom fan. There are a couple left in a box above the display I left for another day.

Grabbed one yesterday as well for same purpose. Makes sure fan runs long enough to do the job,but turns off by itself.

Why best deal is selling locally if possible, like right now. HD.com still shows full price for all these nailers.

I've pretty much moved just about everything OFF eBay unless it's small stuff that's easy to ship (Schlage stuff, valves, etc). Shipped a few Paslodes back in Jan/Feb and the eBay/Paypal costs and shipping were just too much to swallow.

Local sales are by far the best, but you don't get the same reach as some online markets. I hate to waste money on fee's.

Atleast with ebay you don't have folks adamantly saying something is used and offering you 30% less after you've agreed to meet and a price. Happened twice this week.

All local markets are different. It almost seems here, local pricing equals about what you'd get after shipping and seller fees so it's almost a wash

That is why all the stuff I sell has to be picked up at my house.
I stopped doing the meet half way type of meetings several years ago when I was selling a car trailer. A potential buyer wanted me to meet him 60+ miles away. I told him i needed a 100.00 deposit to cover fuel/time if he didn't want the trailer (at the time gas was 4.**/gallon). He refused to pay a deposit, so I knew he was going to try and shaft me. I stopped entertaining meeting up unless I am going to be in a certain area for another activity.

You know those guys standing outside the stores? I though about giving them all cash to go in and find sku numbers for me. I'll give you 3 dollars per package . Put them in my cart, I'll be in the front on the computer.

I only give out my home address when the item is to big to transport. Wife does not like people from Craigslists knowing where we live. Normally I meet them at a public place. The annoying thing with Craigslist is, people asking" is it still available" then you never hear from them again. low ball offers, offers from out of state and the ones that ask " do you deliver"? So far "knock on wood" I've never encounters any problems.

Saw these the other day. New 52" top and bottom boxes got excited then realized they are a new sku and ~$600. Poor guy looking at them next to me must have seen the penny deal somewhere and had two of them taken down. When they rung out $1.2K at the register he didn't seem happy.

Interesting night last night. Went looking for more echo's as they clearanced quick. Like one week slight discount, next week, .03 level and then removed from the system. First store came up short but saw a husky job box. Picked out the old employee without computer to grab it, came back with computer/phone and ladder. Scanned it, said I can't have it and walked off with it. When to CS and asked for MOD. Young guy was nice and I offered last clearance price for it to which he agreed as it was better than crushing it. He then put it on a clearance sku which made me ask for a deeper discount as the reciept wouldn't be accurate at that point. So he knocked 15 off. So job box for 18.03. Also had a 2 ton for $45.

Next store not so nice. Had a echo 265 left as display missing alot. Gas cap, tubes, flex tube, gas line/vent line. Not willing to budge on the $65.03 price as it's too good of a deal even at that price. Came across with a real attitude and then asked for my phone to look at the picture as he couldn't understand how I knew what price it would ring up. Took the deal as I bought a reman that needs some work at 65 and I'll take the pieces off the reman and put it on this new unit. But I was pissed at his rudeness. So I wanted to make sure I found a penny item and left with it. Walked the isles looking for old stock and GOTCHA!

Had to spend 15 minutes placing a ladder then waiting for an employee to walk by that didn't have a phone. Got one he got down and put it in the cart. SCO lady even though busy made sure to come over and scan it. Rang out a penny and she cleared it and did it again. Gave me a confused look and I told her it was clearance and the monster cable would ring out at $7. She said ok put it to pay screen and I put my money in and got out of there.

I only sold two things on Craiglist a stainless steel extractor and a jeep jk hard top. Both times at my house with my patrol car seating out front and my glock in my waistband. I would tell them my address and that it was easy to spot you'll find a black and white police car parked in the drive way. No problems yet.

I have the Lutron ones at my house and put several in for friends. Easy to install and they work well. It's just an electronic timer so it kills the power ot the fan in 5, 10, 15, etc. minutes. Much better than having a switch and someone forgetting about it. The panasonic exhaust fans are extremely quiet, you can't hear them when they are on so it's easy to forget to turn the switch off.

The only time I've had people come to the house for a CL sale was selling a 60 horse outboard motor, a boat trailer that wasn't registered and tires only held air for an hr or so and a pair of 24 ft aluminum pumpjacks, poles, jacks, etc.

Those things are a PITA to move so I talked to the people, knew who they were and felt ok with them coming. But even then I kept the garage shut so no one knows whats inside, etc. I also always look up peoples names, reverse phone numbers etc even when I'm meeting them in a public place just so I know who I'm dealing with somewhat.

I usually meet at HD a few miles away or another public place. I'm not going to meet someone half way unless I'm going to be in that area anyway.

Question for the rafter stock. I was in one of the stores I visit and on the PCA it showed a qty of 3 and I know these are old stock and stashed somewhere. Is it reasonable to believe they would at least be on the same aisle where they once were or could they be clear across the store? These are door handle sets btw so I wouldn't imagine them having multiple homes across the store when they were regular price.

I did find a MET stash on the lowest shelf on the same aisle packed with a ton of stuff but couldn't see all,the skus and didn't want to get a ladder or human involved.

As a side, I did find a door entry handle set I thought might have pennied. It showed a $99 price but the date was from October of 2015. Nope, still $99.

Yea the only problem is now a days people see a cop car and want to break into it to get the uniforms, vest, and anything they can get their hands on. :dunno:

I mean it's a pretty popular Halloween costume, and costume prices can get ridiculous for something you're going to wear once a year.

Had an off duty officer stop by my house to buy a CL item a few years ago. We had a good chat about buying/selling on CL. I have yet to have a problem with anyone that showed up to buy at my place. His basic words of advice were to just use common sense. I do use reverse lookup on people coming to buy as well.

My garage is such a mess that no one would want in it anyway... :lol_hitti

If they exist, they are probably close by or in a clearance section of the store. But there is a real possibility they don't exist. Went to an HD last night specifically for a miilwaukee combo on clearance for a flippable price. The pca said they had 8, myself and employee looked everywhere, 3rd level, etc. They don't exist. I didn't bother to have them pulled off the shelf over the phone since there were 8. He said inventory at that store can be off by that much sometimes. Ugh.

I've been to a few stores that show some of those miiwaukee demo gloves, 3, 4, 8 and they are no where to be found. Asked an employee, she said good luck, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. Hey, thanks for the effort in helping lady.

Good to know. Didn't want to waste an hour trying to find them

With ebay you might get a customer return. Even if you say no returns accepted, if they do a chargeback you are SOL. Paypal will take the money out of your bank account. Plus, nobody wants bad feedback to affect future sales.

Same. If I meet its only within about 10mins away or if I'm back and forth for work. So not really out of my way usually. Only times people come to the house is for large items. Garden tractor, compressor, etc. And usually after I talk to them on the phone and get a feel. I also keep the garage door closed. Though I sold a garden tractor and I had to open the garage to get the jumper cables, even though it was the neutral safety switch, he saw my other tractor and wanted to take a look. He was a good ol boy though and brought his young daughter so I wasn't to worried about it.

But yes, enough side tracking. Didn't snap any pics today but got a faucet by the SCO lady that stopped my last week. Moral victory.

This happened to me, I was selling a boat in great condition, we agreed on a price that was less that I listed it for. He drove a couple hours to get it and when he arrived asked if I would take less for it, I told him no, and raised the price the amount he wanted me to take off. I went home with the boat. Sold it the next week to someone else.

1 time a guy spent a whole week low-balling me on a Dewalt saw but I ignored his emails, I had 8 and they were selling steadily so I knew they'd sellout. Finally the guy agrees to my price, comes to pickup and says "Can you take $5 off I didn't bring enough cash."

I do most of my selling at my house but I have a dog loose in the yard at all times, and she doesn't stop barking until they leave =).
