WOW....first post and its on how to screw over HD.....really...
couple of words....Retail FRAUD...THEFT... and not to mention morals, ethics and plenty of other words...
HD return without receipts trigger HD LP department a big RED FLAG...on radar video..

you know HD loss prevention has video tape of every return customer without receipt .all it takes a a software facial recognition to match and bingo.....Jail time... and yes...there's camera everywhere in there.... some people who are buying penny items legitimately are being hasssled by HD security....

Wow.. Calm down calm down. Thanks for the fair warning. I only ask the question because I unknownly returned something that I bought on clearance and they refunded me the original price with store credit. It wasn't much, but I was just shocked because I wasn't expecting the full amount, it just rang up that way.

I wasn't aware of this one being on clearance. Rechargeable and works with electrical plug too.

If you had any integrity at all, you would've immediately notified them of their mistake, and made sure they corrected it. We all saw what you were really up to...don't try to cover your tracks now.

I am sure your penny/clearance return worked because the item you bought was at a different store and you went to do a return at a different one. From what we learned here is that all Home Depots have different prices and so in this case it worked in your favor but like other said be careful this could be consider fraud.

You can only do a certain amount of returns with no receipt. (not sure on the max amount of $ for Home Depot) after that you are done for the year. No more returns with no receipt, at least with the ID they took from you when they process the return.

Example: Target store has a $90 max. No receipt policy. We found this out because our new born decided to jump diapers sizes and and we got a lot of small size diapers from our baby shower. We did a return and once they process the return they told my wife that she couldn't do any more no receipt returns for the year lol

Perhaps the no-receipt policy at Target varies? I recently did a no-receipt return there for around $125. No problems.

Picked up my second dewalt 18v finish nailer this morning. Hopefully I can snag number 3 tomorrow morning. Also bought and already resold 2 Bostitch flooring staplers. I kind of like the finish nailers. I may just keep two of them...

Damn. I'm trying to track down a cordless finish nailer. Got the coil framing and crown stapler. Didn't really need the stapler but I had imminent competition who was cleaning out all the clearance nailers and welding carts. He missed the last stapler pushed way back. Saw him go back and look for it. Haha.

Got shot down on the free Ego batteries. She did the return, then went to ring them back up and 3 pennies popped up. She started panicking and called the manager. Manager said it was for new models only listed on the sign. They voided the return transaction. No big deal. I didn't complain. I'll try another store lol

Yeah.. Proof of intentions..
Also how many times can you returns items at HD before HD catches on and puts a stop to your returning items? I guess I'm asking do they track your name and # times you returned an item?

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Was in a huge rush and every computer was in use by employees so couldn't look myself. Just not sure if it's worth going back to that store or not

But it was a husky 41" top and bottom. The top had a sku of 1000 044 440.

Picked up 2 Dewalt cordless finish nailers $88 each, had to debate on them since they're going for like $179 on eBay. Put them up on CL and OfferUp for $250.

They also had 3 of the Dewalt wide crown staplers for $88 but I passed. Found a $25 welding cart for my buddy

Small chance it's a penny, but full price around here for every store that has them in stock

yeah...thats a ticking time bomb... I have done house only for compressor buys because they need to test, power up....but otherwise.. I meet at local Mcdonalds 5mins from me... I tell them text, or email back when there...then I drive down...no show...come back...not much time lost...or effort..
and also during my return home from work...I will meet them after work on route at public place... And I don't meet them after dark...

and even when deal requires a home test... I give them local meet place first..then I meet them there...then they follow me home to test product and buy.... too bad... I can't find a place where they provide power and water to test stuff out for buyers... and I don't want no generator hauling..

But my best buyers have been repeat buyer from construction guys..all kinds of trade guys..
7-11 out by the ice machine. I had a guy go in the store and use a plug by the coffee machine for a sewer drill machine. We told them we would be out quick.

Those are most of the boxes I see around here and they are full price.

Where did you find those? I probably won't list mine for at least a month or more. I know that most contractors haven't made much spending money yet.

So less than a minute after I walk into HD, they start closing SCO. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me in less than a week. And the employees were all looking at me suspiciously.

Was just told other day it's 30 days for clearance returns. You shouldn't get a different answer from every store. And you're absolutely right about buying wrong stuff if you return that much.
My most recent receipt (less than 1 week old) says 365 days, since I paid with my commercial card. This was for clearance items.

I sold some of the bostitch version of the wide crown stapler from last years clearance for $225 and $250 on ebay. A few were even the display.

They are just starting to come down in my area. Think the set was 350 or so I can check tomorrow.

Found a penny today

If anyone needs one let me know they had a few and I'll give you the store. Or I'll send it to you for shipping costs.

The store also had a bunch of the lights everyone is snatching up. Are you guys flipping then I already have a ton of work lights and it just seems like a lot of trouble for $5-$10 dollars profit.

Are you taking about those Husky LED work lights in 800 and 1000 lumen varieties? I believe there is a glut of them in some areas. My local HD has over 20 of each...and they are not moving at the .03 price.

With that said, I am in at a penny :)

Ya that's what I was talking about. Seems like 50% or more of the hd's I go into have them and most of them have been in the clearance section for weeks.

Does leviton ever drop below .00 clearance?

Probably not. I've seen that LED lights and the electrical outlets (I'm assuming thats the Leviton you are talking about) stay at the .00 pricing for months. And when they drop to .06 or .03 they get manually changed back to the .00 pricing.

for local sales it is a good idea to meet at a police station or bank. Most police stations support it now, drop in and let them know what you are doing. And banks have good lighting and cameras (mention that) good luck and be safe -

Donut shops are always good. For the same reason.

I'll see one store with dozens of them, others where they have none. The rechargable one would be a decent buy, I might get one of those for a friend who is a tow truck driver if I see one but I have not around here.

Thanks! Wasn't sure since this one was off in the corner by itself while they had a display of other 41" ones that had a different number on the top. Oddly those ones were like 50 bucks cheaper than the one off in the corner by itself.

Knipex down to .04 level. My local stores have the nailers but they are still $200+. The ones that don't have them are marked down like the rest. All the 2 ton jacks and husky lights are gone around me too. :(

If you go back want to pick me up a pair of each of those knipex :) None of my stores carry them at all
