It's not that some of us wouldn't like to contribute. There are those like me who just have one local HD that has a met team that is ruthless. Also, the clearance schedule is weeks or months behind everyone else. When most stores have pennied out, we are at the .00 level here (or it stays full price). I try to post what I can, but it really helps no one on here when they have pennied out elsewhere.

Stainless 6 gallons vacs are gone in my area and we're still at .06 level. Picked up two of these for $23.03 each. Thinking about trying one in the garage for cleaning out the vehicles.

On the fence to try out a Ego blower with free battery promo. I am in need of a blower to clean up the driveway and zero turn after cutting the grass. Having a hard time dropping $200 on one. Anyone use the Ego blowers? Opinions?

The ones in the burbs near me are normal stores, one in the city I go to, they don't have the tools locked up like this, they have the rolls of copper wire behind a cage like this.

I joked with the main guy in the electrical area if that was really necessary and he said if not for that, the copper walks out.

Someone would have no problem getting kleins, etc from that cage btw. Just use a pick up tool or something with a hook. Pull it off the hook and you can get it through the opening at the bottom of the cage.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Bitching instead of realizing how lucky they are . . . not to have the met teams we have.
Plus isn't telling everyone what you scored as rewarding as getting it?

Go to pipe clamp aisle, get the appropriate size bar clamp. Reverse bar clamp so it's in the spreading position. go to the middle of that half *** security bar, tip chain saw on it's side, use the spreader clamp to arch the pipe up, take as many saws as you'd like.

The back of the shelve was open on the other side.

Very similar here. The latest trend at my store is not even allowing .03 to stay on the floor. There have been several items w lots of stock sit for weeks at .06. Then one morning they're just GONE; the peg or shelf is empty and the price tag is non-existent. They do not appear in the clearance section. There's no way they all sold overnight; MET is either following orders or stealing.

Over a week ago, I saw a cart full of clearance items, and thought I'd hit the mother load. Stanley, Milwaukee, Crescent, and Channellock hand tools were loaded into a cart in the middle of the tool section. I figured they must have pennied out, and they'd pulled them, like they're supposed to do. When I checked the PCA, not only were they still all $**.03, but they were all zeroed out in inventory. There were about 25-30 pieces in that cart, still sellable, all zeroed out and pulled off the floor. Rediculous.

Lol not really. This thread shoots itself in the foot with the deals posted here. Once those nailers were posted it took absolutely no time for the deal to be posted to slickdeals. Way too many people periodically checking from their couch and get up and head to the store when they see a deal posted.

Not really since this forum isn't private. Still easy to come here and look and see what we're talking about and then go there and post it, and make it seem like they're the hero.

This. I still don't get why the mods don't take it private.

Wouldn't making it private lessen the hits they get and therefore lesson the money?

The same thing happened at my 2 stores. I buy only for personal use so I wait for the half price mark then I buy. The only penny deal I have ever found were small boxes of 1 1/4" roofing nails. It something but not the grand deals a lot of the people here are finding. I once thought I found one of the Echo Timber Wolf chain saws. Turned out it was still full price

The way to fix it is the have a "pay to play" area. A small fee to access the area were the deals are posted. It would also support the website. I would gladly pay even though I rarely find any deals in stores

Ditto.. I am in the southwest and our deals lag (kinda nice). When I see something new I post. But since I lag it's not often.

So would not posting deals here. So, everyone should stop posting. I assume most of the half experienced deal finders here know how to find deals without them being posted here.

But people have to get their "street cred" and feel better about themselves by showing off what they found. Which they don't realize only hurts themselves and others get ahold of deals.

I bet 90% of the people who know what they're doing would rather see deals not being posted instead of this place being full of deals. As soon as it was posted that a certain dewalt product dropped to .04, all the ones around me disappeared.

I completely agree with everything you're saying. I was just saying that would be the only reason for the mods not to make it private. Eventually another blog site will come along and they will end up losing more than they're gaining in regards to hits. Sad that so many of us ask for it and it is radio silence, but they periodically come in and tell us to just post deals. Also it was very ironic that after the post I made that you quoted 2 people started following me. 1 of those ppl seems to be following every person that has brought up these issues recently...

What about a private group or something along that line? It would be set to private so only those invited get in.

It's very easy to create a private group on FB. I imagine the same thing would happen as with the spreadsheet. A handful of people will post useful things, they'll get tired of doing "all the work" and it will die (again).

No matter what you do, you'll never stop people from sharing deals on SD. The type of person who needs people to "like" them will always find a way to find stuff to share on there.

Seen the Bostitch Flooring Stapler @ $96.00 in a store but can't find any stock even @$120 price. Looked like people bought everything up in 1 go. CL and selling apps are flood. Would be nice to add to my personal use collection same with the framer nailer. Did manage to score a Senco F15 wouldn't come up with a price at all. Showed them a picture of the $83.00 price and rung it up for me. Also scored a Stor N Go vac for $23 was hard to find just 2 weeks ago had stacks of them on the floor found one hidden up high.

You have to realize that a private Facebook page means you have to screen the members, anybody can ask to join. Same with paying. Are you going to turn away paying people because they might get a deal before you. I work for a major retailer that clearances items everyday. After awhile the manufacturer recalls the product and asks for it to be sent back. Plus there are people that shop these stores for clearance items do it daily or weekly. They don't just rely on websites. Also it's usually a group of people that will travel to all the 10 plus stores in the area. There are people that come into my store that are paid to buy certain items and resell on Amazon and eBay

What kind of person needs to be liked on an anonymous board like slickdeals? :lol_hitti

That's a sick person who gets their self worth from that.
