Anyone want to PM me a good pay-to-play private HD/Clearance forum?

Here's the things about these deals, they vary greatly from area to area, so the best thing to do is learn how to find these super deals and go hunting. It doesnt matter what whoever finds across the country from you there's is a good chance it's not a nation wide clearance. No forum is going to have 100% deals that always apply to you, unless it's a local only forum.

Moral of the story, learn how to find deals and go hunting yourself.

any suggestions on how to get this?

My local store has the paslode framing nailer that pennied out, but it is on the shelf with no sleeve and no barcode (must be a return?). Someone wrote the sku on the case but they wrote the wrong damn sku and when i took it to SCO, the attendant punched it in and rang it up for $399.

So write the correct sku on the case and cross out the wrong one. All it takes is a decent marker. I don't think that is fraud if it is correct. Of course, it will trigger a visit by a manager when it rings up as 1 cent, then you will have to try and negotiate the last clearance price. It helps to have a screenshot of the last clearance price on your cell phone. If you get shot down they will probably put it back in that department and you can try another manager later.

I went to an outlet store in Dallas yesterday and found an entire wall of Milwaukee M18 tools that had been RTV'd and resold thru Genco. Heated jackets, circular saws, drill/driver sets, pretty much a little of everything. I only glanced over the prices and the only one I remember was a 2 tool kit for $299. There were some other HD RTV's I looked through and was pretty astounded because everything was priced very near full retail. I guess if you don't know any better you'd think it was a good deal.

How many times have you done this? I wouldn't want to risk getting caught doing this, right or wrong.

while I agree with you, in New Hampshire, the NH Consumer Protection Act says it's illegal to sell an item as a different model. (see VII)
When you check out with the wrong sku, your receipt shows that you bought a different item than you actually purchased.

TITLE XXXI
TRADE AND COMMERCE

CHAPTER 358-A
REGULATION OF BUSINESS PRACTICES FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION

358-A:2 Acts Unlawful.

VI. Representing that goods are original or new if they are deteriorated, altered, reconditioned, reclaimed, used or secondhand;
VII. Representing that goods or services are of a particular standard, quality, or grade, or that goods are of a particular style or model, if they are of another;

In your case, you could explain the problem with the sku and you are trying to follow the law.

I don't know about NC

I have only done this when there was no sku or label on the box, and it has worked twice, failed once. Once I got the item for 1 cent, once for the last clearance price. They can check the sku in their system and see that it matches the model number. I don't volunteer that I wrote the number. If you are worried about looking guilty, write the number and come back another day. If the orange shirts are hovering nearby, forget about it.

Some dope posted the dwalt nailer and bostittch on SD, so the few that are left will be gone soon.

you do realize that anything posted here can be read by anybody and can post it anywhere....thereby killing any hopes of getting anything across the nation.
other deal forums is viral...and spreads...almost instant wipe out within hrs...

so that vacuum for $13.02 is probably over there now or will soon... This forum needs to be closed to members only...and only after after posting quality leads or post...then be able to grant permission to access the deal section...

the way it is....nothing posted is safe...its almost like you are going to kill your own deals....or deals that you were planning..

I just sit on my couch watching Walker Texas Ranger re-runs, drinking America (formerly known as Bud Heavy aka Budweiser) all day browsing here and slickdeals and take a quick stroll to a Home Depot whenever I see a deal posted. It's a pretty rough life.

Yup. Look at the number of views this thread has. Probably half of that is lurkers from SD

If you actually look at the surface numbers they aren't that bad.
sears thread is 140 views per post
home depot is 97 views per post
enco is 70
ebay is 65
lowes is 165
harbor freight is 221
zoro is 141
bendpak is 138

Last year home depot thread was 134 views per post. So not a whole lot has changed other than certain contributors don't post anymore because we got tired of all the bs. Seriously for all those complaining about SD and the lot go look at last years thread. No one cared, we all did our thing and helped each other. Now everyone just *******. :dunno:
