I have been denied the sale of many penny items before, never complained. My complaint is that this lady went into my bag and grabbed something that I had already purchased. Big difference. However, you are right about complaints in general, so I apologize for possibly acting selfishly.

See above.

What they've told me is the sale isn't really final until you leave the store. So pay, get out the door and they won't bother to go after you. I understand what you are saying but there are bigger things in life to worry about. Just let it go and move on.

If it were something your really wanted, you probably could have paid last clearance. 90% of the penny items I get are things I don't need/want that I give to friends/family. I get denied a few times, I just move on. Plenty of pennies to get next time.

My last penny item, the guy in self check actually scanned my 3 items, 2 clearance items and 1 penny. :D I thought he would see the penny but he didn't care. I do better with 2nd shift self check, it's so much quieter the attendant seems to be daydreaming or just doesn't care.

Thanks for the advice. And sorry again for making the complaint, I dont mind ruining something for myself, but wouldn't want to "rock the boat" as you said for others.

Things I am watching, I usually take the pics of the item, then the next pic is the sku. It's easier sometimes and faster depending on the stores to scan the sku. We have scanners in every 2nd or 3rd aisle so it's easy to do there.

Went to my home Depot {45 min away} while going to the mall. Saw compressor dropped to $75 and when trying to find them hardware guy came up and struck up convo asking what I was looking for. I had looked everywhere at this point so I just said 30 gallonish compressor. He flat out said if you're looking for the 2 on clearance that dropped to 75 this am, 2 of us in hardware bought them first thing this am. I played stupid and he told me to check Craigslist (was selling gather for 250) and said the likelihood of any good deals getting out of this store is slim to none. I just acted like I had no clue what he was talking about and chatted a tad more before leaving. I went to restroom in back and sure enough the 2 compressors sitting right next to restroom in employee stock room. No wonder I never find things in my store when I go hehe. The tone was funny too, he was basically saying get the F out of my store hehe. Ohh well live and learn.

You're absolutely right. And now that I think of it, the night time has always treated better than day. I think I'll just stick to going when they're not so busy. I really regret making that complaint now, but oh well. You live you learn.

I'd absolutely do that if the guy was that arrogant about it. I mean, at least with penny items its not technically a sale until it leaves the store.

I know the guy said he bought them already but its happened before, guy buys tool box and its sold out from under him. Might as well turn the table on the employees.

Just have to grab it and checkout with out him seeing. I've also heard that employees aren't allowed to buy untill 48hrs after a price drop. Might be a store rule though, but if its pretty habitual I'd ask the store manager about it. Not in a high horse type way but the more info you have the better on store workings.

Not worth it to me. Need a compressor, but not worth it. Karma is a *****. Wish them well and maybe next time.

If it still shows 2 in stock, they didn't pay for them yet.

It didn't show them in Stock. It did last week when I drove up to mall. They bought them I'm pretty sure of it. If it showed 2 stock still I would have had a different approach.

Let's get back to those deals. Enough lady talk. I'm eager to buy. Cash in hand.

Didn't see anything worth it today. Seems they are killing most deals around here for ryobi days and possibly fathers day. Maybe some good new deals to be had in a few weeks

He also had the Milwaukee fuel 18v set with blue tooth for sale at 350 hum wonder if it's gone down from 450?

Here's one to look for when you're out and about this weekend. Price dropped almost three weeks ago so those on top of things have likely picked them up already. There may be opportunity for a return/rebuy since many stores still have them for $1499. The boxes take up the better part of a pallet so you'll need a truck. Any bets on how long until this makes SD? Grab a screenshot. I'll likely delete this post in a bit.

My experience with the Weber grill clearances have been that HD is VERY accurate about only putting them on clearance at stores that dont actually stock them. The S-670 has been on clearance for a while at a few of my local stores, none of which ever actually stocked it. The closest store that DOES have it in stock is still full price.

I was told by MET in my local store that they weren't allowed to buy them until 24 hours after clearance pricing takes effect. I've learned a bunch by naively asking questions, mostly confirming what the regulars on here have already said. One thing that becomes clear though, is that the associates are not always your friend.

Think you guys on the east coast have already been watching these items but figured I'd throw them out there. Sorry about the quality.
LED work light 480624
33 gallon compressor 014081
3 gallon compressor 395226
Tape measures 1001606101
M18 Hammer drill 111435
4 ft Ladder 007075

Was only able to locate the 3 gallon compressor's. Still seem a little high for me. Did pick up a Bostitch flooring stapler that showed 0 stock on hand. Go figure.

When I worked there it was you could not buy it the day of. So ppl would be able to buy them at 10pm when the store closed if they didn't sell throughout the day. Like I said no worries, they need it more than I do.

If it was a 60 gallon I'd be pissed. But 30 gallon is meh. Even if it was an oil version .

Have you ever gotten any penny items in Canada? Do they also do the 06, 03, penny cycle?

One of my local stores was the same. Looked on PCA and showed 1 in stock. Located on top shelf behind some toolboxes. Majority of deals I've scored have not been on their proper shelf or location.
