Idk if all states differ but all mine list max refund value under each item:

This is exactly the way the receipt looks if you get them to mark something down from the sale price.

That's how it is with every receipt for a free battery, etc. add on I've seen from HD. What he's talking about is buying the sets and getting the free batteries, then returning the battery without the receipt for the store credit for the value of the battery. You will not get cash back but you'll get more in store credit than you can sell the batteries for.

It likely falls under retail fraud in most if not all states. I would not talk about it on the internet. It's not a new thing and HD knows about the small number of people who do it. Every HD I've been to, you need to give your license to return something without a receipt. They do track this stuff and if you do it enough, you might be some attention.

Some dope posted the 3 gal husky compressor markdown on SD last night. Decent compressor if you need to inflate tires, etc. but not much more and probably no value to flip.

Damn, how'd you get the kit for $95? All mine were $135.

I just walk out, then walk back in with the battery and receipt. All my battery returns have been $51 including tax. So about the same as trying to sell locally and this is much quicker.

$95 is just for the hammer drill, not the combo kit.

No, I wasn't talking about returning without a receipt. I meant return for maximum return value stated on the receipt - about $50 when purchased with the combo kit on clearance, closer to $40 when purchased with the hammerdrill kit.

1. if you return anything bought on a GC - even with a receipt, they require a DL.
2. make enough returns, even legit ones and you won't only "get attention", you can be barred from making returns or even from making purchases. Among other stores, HD uses theretailequation.com to track returns.

what numerical value is "enough" that bars one from making returns? Just trying to learn more about this. I read about this type of state in these threads, but never any hard facts about it.

This was the black box (with orange corner) that was on the racetrack during spring break deals. I just negotiated a pallet for $5 per 5-pack box.

Great deal if you're tiling a bathroom soon.

Oh they just made it up. Keep returning stuff and nothing will happen.

Tired of reading about return queens. It'd be much more entertaining reading the rants of them being banned.

If anyone knows of a private HD forum, please PM me. I have plenty of new penny items to contribute. Thanks

Easy enough to encrypt text (item description and sku) using freely available and easy to use online tools. Decryption would require a "key", which would need to be distributed to "members". Doable, but opens up a whole 'nother can of worms.

I need to make a $2k purchase online from hd, anyone have any discount codes that could help? Its a For a door.

If you're buying online, use the online chat support and ask for a discount. They can all give a 10% discount, sometimes up to 20%.

If they give you any trouble about a discount, get a link to a similar one from Lowes (with a cheaper price) and tell them you'll be able to get a better price through Lowes.

I think the reason it's not scanning is bc the free multi-tool comes with the 2494-22P kit that includes the hammer drill, not the standard drill/driver. Although I maybe wrong, it looks like the combo you got has the standard drill.

You are correct on the hammer drill vs standard drill

The problem is that the sku and model numbers are the same. Only difference is the upc number and obviously one has free tool. But no P after the model number.

Also the hammer version was no where to be found, at least at this two stores. PCA location pointed to the standard drills.

Example:
One store had the updated $99

While the other, where I was able to get the free tool hadn't update it. But the sku and model
Number is still the same.

Just an FYI to anyone that cares, I did easily get 10% through the live chat. Thanks for the advice Spn

Ah good catch on the hammer drill aspect, that kit model was actually 2497-22. So I wonder if you found a 2497, would it scan for $99 and would the multi tool scan for free.
