Here are some finds over the last week or so:

I've seen these in the PCA at a few stores:
IMG_4320.JPG
The model number in the PCA is wrong. It's the LXLM04 and not the DML802 that's on clearance.

Was also able to find this for $165:

In my area, the mobile workbenches started to clearance out at the same time as everywhere else but jumped back to full price for a while. They finally hit .03 and I've been able to find two so far. One was a display that had the flier for the newer, adjustable top model.

Went to a store that I've been to only once before and found this:
IMG_4411.JPG
This is the first one I've seen since they dropped to $125.03.

Once it rang up for a penny, they called the store manager at home to get his approval. He told them to just charge me the difference between $125 and the total of the rest of the stuff I was buying. After they got off the phone, all they told me was that he okayed it at last clearance and then asked if I needed anything else. When I replied that I was all set, they filled me in on the the rest of the deal. I only had about $50 worth of other items in my cart and they wouldn't let me go back to get more. Not really one to look a gift horse in the mouth and was more than okay with paying $75.

Wish I could find one of those Makita lights around here to go with my drill and impact.

Nice job on the 52" box!!

At the store today 2 employees were hiding 3 33 gallon compressors, $82 each, I was not going to buy, but acted like I was, lol... I heard one say, how the hell will I pay mine! Wife of one of them paid for 1..... They took the other 2 and hide them in the gardening section :), if they are there tomorrow I take one, I doubt it

I would have got the sku and went and paid for them.

Agree on the faucets. I've gotten close to 40 penny faucets at just a handful of stores this weekend. Went to SCO with 11 of them at one store today and the cashier was shocked but didn't say anything to me.

Also found a Ridgid WD5500 wall-mount vac today.

which faucets?

I left them. We're out of town and don't have time to wait for the old guy to stop flirting with the young girls working SCO. No way to get them out without him stopping me.

Not an old customer, an older employee. So 3 employees all around the SCO. No way I could get those big boxes through without them stopping me. Maybe if it was just one of the girls I could've made it out.

How do you guys scan penny items and paying for it without an attendant coming over to clear the 1penny/cent error? I had to wait till lady called her manager and finally she entered $5 and i gladly paid for it and left.

Most of us have gotten some large stuff thru..All about timing. You go for it,and if it doesn't work be prepared to offer last clearance if you really want them.. I got 3 Husky 48" X24" storage boxes thru at 1 time..Trust me, these are huge. MUCH larger than those compressors..

Looks like a generic sku on the side of the box - common for stores that don't want to sell as a penny and also not return. Actually smart business.

For those getting faucets, I remodeling my house and need 5 bathroom faucets, 1 tub faucet, 1 kitchen sink faucet. Also I could be possibly talked into a **** load of led lights if price is right. Also, 2 or 3 bronze indoor fans 52 in or larger. Hit me up in pm if interested.

The barcode will scan now. I wiped it off. But there's still 3 people at SCO. Ugh.

Shoulda grabbed one and took a shot. Last clearance wasn't gonna happen though. As noted above, they blacked out the barcode in order to make their own price with generic sku.

Makes me chuckle when I see those stickers on penny items. If you were to believe many a manager/associate, HD no longer owns those items once they penny out, and they are supposed to be sent back to the manufacturer. Wouldn't that make this theft, or fraud, or both? 😬

Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

50' rope mentioned yesterday (or the day before) dropped today. Orange or green. Store had a box of it at both ends of the rope and chain aisle. Good score for the non-flippers like me as you are likely to find it if you act quick.

I saw a 60" fan in the clearance end cap at a store today. No idea of price or other details.

Yeah, both had the generic stickers on them. Marked down to a whopping $172. I may make it back on Sunday to try to get them. It's a store a couple hours away. We were down for a doctors appointment so didn't really spend much time looking.

The 37-72" tv mounts are down to a penny around here... I was planning on buying one anyways and it rang up as a penny... SCO froze it and asked a manager, who just gave it to me saying they don't carry that particular mount anymore.... Even though I saw about 8 more back there.

I'm not a big penny hunter, but it was cool to get something I needed for once.... For free

And some stores will just give you a penny item, some will say last clearance, etc. 2nd shift of the store, so after 7pm is the best time around me. Stores are quiet and SC is chatting with other employees or bored out of their mind.

Even with those compressors, I would be at self check for 20 seconds or so and 5 seconds is it printing out the damn receipt. Gift card, know your pin, is the fastest other than putting in 2 pennies. If I have a gift card that is $10.34, I write on the back 210.34 so at least I can say I wasn't paying attention to the price when I scanned it. Doesn't matter at the time, I just want to claim ignorance so I don't get watched next time I'm in there, etc.

If you don't try, it's 100% you will not get it for a penny. If you try and fail, no loss. If you try and get it,

You are not getting arrested, kicked out of the store or anything bad if you get caught. It might not have been a great time but I've gone through with a similar circumstance when I couldn't go back to the store at a better time, and I got through.

What brickie is talking about, those 48" husky utility boxes, each box is at least twice the size of those compressor boxes, and 3 of them would look huge on a cart. Those compressors are low and are not bad.

If you think they'll catch on, buy a few faucets or something with the compressors, scan those first, then scan one of the compressors twice. If the sc is looking, they'll see the high total and not see the pennies. Then walk back into the store and return the faucets or do it later.

They are not paying attention to you as much as you think they are.

And if they try to come over to help you scan everything, kick them in the shin. That usually distracts them long enough to get a receipt and get out.

That's how I got my tool carts. I scanned other stuff first. That way it had a total already. I also did them in separate transactions. This past Sat I was out of town and hit one that froze on an item. The lady called the manager over and he just used the SKU of the closest looking item in clearance. They were just XV9006 bulbs anyway.

Usually the SC attendants dont bother me when they see me entering my pro ID.

hey guys i got my first score last night!!! I needed the hose reel for my basement workshop and this was a great deal. I left the other two items and i will keep an eye on them.

I do have a question however. i see that some stores around me have the 52" bench and 80 gal compressor marked down to .03 but the only stores who have it like that are of course out of stock. The other local stores DO have them in stock but they are the regular price. Is there anyway around this?

It seems like people find a good deal and then go to other stores in order to get that deal but maybe i am not understanding this right.

What you are asking (kinda) is can you buy one of those 52 benches or the compressor at the store in stock and bring it to the clearance store and do a return/rebuy. this is retail fraud. Will you get caught, probably not but it's also not worth the effort with a big item like that. Just be patient, you'll get something at some point at clearance.

There are makita framers out there for cheaper than the dewalt and they are better nailers.

Also, that isn't a great price on the impact driller and don't be surprised if that price doesn't drop further, cordless have a tendency to drop, then stay at that price for eternity. There are some dewalt, makita, etc. impact/drill combo sets out there for a little more money but you get the drill with it too. There are some brushless but those are harder to find. The price level is a good price but not a flip price in most cases.
