This is my approach as well. Weather the storm and get a realistic price once all the idiots undercutting each other sell theirs.
I operate the same but sell all local. Moved several Homelite chainsaws yesterday as we had storms come through and knock down lots of trees. There was one other guy selling a Homelite local and I messaged him telling him not to drop his price and we'd both be able to sell what we had. All of mine were gone within two hours. It's funny how someone will message you with a lowball offer and if you stick to your price they'll keep messaging you raising their offer price over the course of a few hours.
