It would be a drop in the bucket for HD to have the system price revert to original retail upon reaching zero on hand. Same thing with the penny items. There is nothing in the return policy that this violates and is no worse than all the distracting the SCO attendant, buying other items to make the penny purchase less conspicuous, climbing up ladders you are not allowed to climb on, stashing items behind other products....the list goes on. If you have a different opinion, state it politely and not like a child.

You forgot hiding power tools in the tool chests...then hiding the key.:eek::eek:

(Calm down everyone. That's not why I got detained by HD deep-cover detectives. I don't do that, just relaying what I've heard!!)

Why don't they price match it? Just curious, if it is within a certain radius and in stock then why not price match it per there own policy or is that just there competitors. Maybe I will read it again, there actually might be a line somewhere that says they can't.

Depends on manager. Some stores won't price match on any clearance items. I've had one store price match the lower Clarence item from another store. It depends on who you get and your approach.

Regular non-clearance items they price match no problem. But usually price is always consistent.

What if someone were to buy the chest and got accused of trying to smuggle out another item inside?

I'm sure they check, but then again who knows, I know they checked my husky bags when I bought them. They've also checked inside the box on the 200 piece tool set worth tool box

1000042381 Went to $250.03 at some locations. Flipped 4 on CL for $700 each. Not many bites at $800 listing

edit: I have been soloing for quite a while, glad I stumbled on the thread. I think I have a few more items that haven't been posted in the most recent pages, will have to check when I get home. Those sheds have been easy money considering HD loads them up for me and I have a fork truck in the pole barn. Much easier to flip stuff that comes on pallets.

High bay LED 11,200 lumen fixtures are $20 now at non stocking stores. Also picked up the Flexio 590 for 38.03.

Called a store that I knew had three Project Painter Plus sprayers, to see if the price had dropped yet and they lied and said that they could only sale me one because they were processing a will call order for a customer that wanted two. I felt obligated to buy a couple at a neighboring store and return them at this store. Swooped them up as soon as they were sent back to the paint aisle.
A better question is why are you even posting that paragraph? You didn't divulge any new deal. At most you wanted to inflated your own ego to "get back" at a store that, you have no evidence of, lied to you.

Go tell the manager you are returning what you bought from another store out of spite and plan to buy again at his store for 75% off.

Ryan doesn't take kindly to people first not posting deals, secondly name calling and lastly trying to skirt store rules etc. An example would be coupons back at Christmas.

Using the PCA at my local store today at the pro desk and was asked to stop as it was not for customer use. I showed them how it listed public up top and said corporate policy allowed for use of anything in that section by the public. He called the manager who told him yes this was not permitted. Can someone point me to more info on the policy I can quote directly or how to handle this? Should I just call corporate customer service?

There is no policy. In this case, I would recommend just being polite and getting up. Go to different computer or come back at later time. I find that being an *** won't get you far.

Not exactly an HD clearance deal, but I just noticed that a couple of my AMEX cards had an offer for a $60 statement credit when you spend at least $400 in-store or online at HD.

This is an email I received after calling corporate. But it's from more than a year ago, and I don't think that person I talked to works there anymore:

"Dear Mr. xxxx,

Thank you for contacting The Home Depot Customer Care Team.

It was a pleasure to speak with you today. Below is a brief description
of our conversation:

(1) I advised that I contacted an associate named Aurora at the Pro
Desk of the xxxxx Home Depot store. She confirmed that the computer
that is marked "Public" can be used by our customers to check order
status or search for Home Depot product availability on our website
(www.homedepot.com).

(2) Your asked if I could mail you a response to your question. I
advised that I contacted you personally to ensure that you receive the
information and asked if you had any additional questions or concerns.
I advised I would immediately send you an email with the information we
discussed.

It has been a pleasure assisting you. Should you need additional
information or assistance, please feel free to contact me directly by
replying to the email or calling me at the number listed below.

The reference number with Customer Care is xxxxxxxx.

The Home Depot appreciates your business and would like you to continue
to rely on us for your home improvement needs. Thank you for being a
valued customer.

Sincerely,

Agnes I. Santiago

Yes it was an ego thing, yes I know that the store lied from an associate working there and there has been no name calling on my part. Will stick to the deals.

Try the one in appliances. A lot of stores have signs up saying something along the line of "Look up more appliances" by the computer.

Just wanted to point out that the price check application that the employees use is different in content and appearance than what is available in the public section and requires someone actually signing on. In the employee app, it will show items for 1 cent that are "item not found" in the public price check application .

I don't think many employees know about that. I remember asking employees for a price check, and they went straight to the public website.

Per corporate: Effective this Friday, items will no longer ring up for a penny at any register.
I've been told that from my old store manager for a couple weeks now. They keep pushing it back with the weekly updates, but it is for sure happening.

If true, oh well!!!!!! Fun getting items for pennies but 75% off the right items is AWESOME as well...

Been saying they could stop this for awhile with some simple computer reprogramming.

Had an item come up "see associate" last night. I think they are removing the upc,s and sku's from the system.....

Got a few penny items but really searched for .02. If they toss that I will walk. Most items there are cheaper elsewhere....

Either way there is going to be a lot more faucets and lights trashed haha

I see that usually when it's a really old item or i've scanned the clearance label on a penny item. I did notice that they really swept the shelves in a few local stores the last week in anticipation of inventory.

About three months ago - I was told by a HD employee that I know that a "fix" was in the works to prevent all of the controversy/issues with customers calling corporate and complaining about penny purchases not being approved. I didn't want to post anything at the time as it wasn't clear exactly what would be done. I guess this would do it.

At my local store, the fix is a quick and efficient MET team which pulls anything close to a penny before the public can see it.
