Hey all - I'm new to HD clearance deals (not a flipper). I found a clearance item that I could really use and the computer says there is "one" on hand. How accurate is the computer in your experience? I searched for the item but couldn't find it last night before closing.

clearance Policy has changed, when any itsm hits the 50% off point MET is supposed to locate the item and place a yellow label if they cannot find the item it be comes a innactive UPC at that store, it wont scan period, magange can do the new yellow tag(what used to be green tag) if they choose

all of the people calling coporate and complaing and the idiot who SUED Home Depot in howell mi because they refused to sell him a penny item have forced their hand , so all of you people who called and complained thanks you ruined it for the rest of us

someone sued them? lmfao. I gotta find that article.

he sued and won, 500.00 then home depot got a restraining order hes banned from all home depot property for life. So who really won. manager at this store is cool, we got a good laugh

the Farmington hills store also had a person in there raising a huge **** storm over penny items, that store used to be a gold mine and 99% of penny items were 1.00 each on generic SKU, since that guy raised a stink cant buy them at all

At my local store, the fix is a quick and efficient MET team which pulls anything close to a penny before the public can see it.

Been that way at my store and the other two local stores for some time now

Wow, this is terrible news. This means that we wouldn't even be able to find items at .03 status without the employees seeing the item first and most likely hiding/buying it for themselves.

its already started commerce Michigan store, stuff that is .03 in PCA has a new yellow tag(former green tag) with a higher price, PCA shows the stock at .03 level but the new yellow tags are impossible to peel to expose the original bar code, and MET manager said that letting stuff hit .03 is manager decision, coporate forces the price drops but manager can override and assign new price

Stopped by one of my local stores this morning and there was an IT guy hanging around the registers talking about how he hopes things will run smoothly with the new changes it looks like an update of some sort is definitely hitting checkouts.

But I was still able to sneak two penny items out as of 5 mins ago...

Hate to burst your bubble, but I doubt it was this forum that did this. I'm in a different forum that has over 2k members that blows the activity of this one out the water. Some of the things the members in that forum do would make people cry here on gj

Lol it does, but I'm referring to a private for pay site. Started out on reddit and when it got like this one someone started up a pay site and been working this way for years.

I was referring to sem- active to full blown active and employees on home Depot alone. We don't give out the info unless we know you in person and can vouch for you. It's $100 a year (although in 3 years I've only paid the original $100) and you get rewarded with money for reporting deals. That is why it is active and why several employees post on it hourly. Don't bother pming me. If you want to get in you more than likely will have to find an employee (I used to be one and still have dozens of contacts working there) who is part of it that will vouch for you.

That new clearance deal *****. I never was a penny hunter but loved buying stuff I could actually use or give to friends/family at the .03 pricing. Im hoping I can get a couple of the Ridgid gas powered compressors I saw yesterday before they disappear. Tag showed .06 price from 6/07.

I feel ya, got an HD gift card and a batch of rebates coming down the pipeline. After that I will go back to getting my deals at garage sales and such. Always avoided HD in the past cause of there higher prices on items that I actually want when I want em like wood, drywall materials, bricks, etc. most these .02 items I get I rarely keep for myself. I got in the game late, feel like the guy who shows up to the bar 15 minutes before last call.

Either way I have no loyalty to HD and the .02 program is really the only reason I do 95% of all my household shopping there. I see it going back down to about 2-5% pre stumbling across this thread. If items I don't care about stick at .06 well peace out HD cause sometimes the .02 makes it enticing enough to buy that item I do not need nor will be able to possibly flip.

Love that store and it's hidden away PCA by the tool boxes.

Has anyone encountered a store in a more affluent area that tends to not clearance anything? All of the items you'd typically see on clearance in other stores are all marked .00 on those re-printed white labels. No .06/.03/.02/.04 anywhere, even the bulbs.
