Has anyone encountered a store in a more affluent area that tends to not clearance anything? All of the items you'd typically see on clearance in other stores are all marked .00 on those re-printed white labels. No .06/.03/.02/.04 anywhere, even the bulbs.

Rich people problems.

I've forgotten, but am I right in thinking that clearance stuff that has "25% off" on the sticker doesn't follow usual markdown patterns?

Got what he deserved (being banned for life).

I am sure he can still shop at HD, it is not like going to the airport with tight security check points. The question is would he risk getting caught and get thrown in jail?

With all this talk of no more pennies I had to go check for myself. Confirmed items still ring up penny here. For now

clearance Policy has changed, when any itsm hits the 50% off point MET is supposed to locate the item and place a yellow label if they cannot find the item it be comes a innactive UPC at that store, it wont scan period, magange can do the new yellow tag(what used to be green tag) if they choose

all of the people calling coporate and complaing and the idiot who SUED Home Depot in howell mi because they refused to sell him a penny item have forced their hand , so all of you people who called and complained thanks you ruined it for the rest of us

Lol people warned about this way back in the beginning. Took them longer than I thought!

It was a matter of time. People were going crazy calling corporate office and so on. I think there were also a few complaints on BBB as well. It was better for people to keep quite and not post all their penny deals as other would hunt and cry when they couldn't get their penny items. It was good while it lasted.

I can't believe how entitled people go with the penny deals. It was supposed to be like hey I lucked out today or something of that sort. The other way was the thrill of the hunt, but yea what did these people think would happen long term giving stores that much hassle.

Buddy of mine has a son who is an assistant manager, Boston area. He said they rented a large portion of a Boston hotel in the last couple weeks and told them of the penny pricing going bye bye,and holding inventory will be greatly reduced. They were supposedly shown pics of store down south with empty upper shelves and that will be the norm in near future. He also confirmed that people calling corporate initiated the change.

Just confirmed with my local source. They are reprogramming SCO machines. In the future when you try to scan a penny item, loud sirens and flashing lights will go off, and the screen will lock up. They have security standing by for such events.

That seems to be the opposite from what I have seen. If anything they increased inventory recently at stores. I don't remember the tool isle pack as it has been recently.

IMG_0381.jpgWell if they are going to "take it away" I say go down fighting. Just picked up what may be my last 7 penny items. Hate to admit, but I actually have large enough variety of electronic items (Iphone, IPOD - both 30 pin/8 pin connector type, IPAD mini, and other items that use micro USB connectors) that I can actually use the 3-In-1 Charging Cable. The 2-In-1 Charging Cable - which the 3-In-1 cables were hiding behind - are still $12.99. What a bargain. May try another store tomorrow where there is a few more 3-In-1 cables hanging out for the taking. Who knows, may actually get another few penny items before the party is over.

Well what certainly didn't help was someone posting a detailed thread on how it all works here and even worse posting it on SD. I still don't get that. All the SD idiots were positing left and right about calling.

And so were people on this thread too. Can't blame everything on SD in this case.

Are you referring to me? I was just trying to be helpful.

how many tx people actually found pennies? All the penny posters I see are on the east coast. Years ago we would find pennies in HD by accident while doing normal buying; but I have never across them while penny hunting.

actually gather your penny deals in a pile and post a pic. I want to see who here is a real penny hoarder. I want to see what some of us missed out on. Penny deals only!

I've found tons of penny items in dfw over probably the past 10 years.

Sorry, but the first 7 are already spoken for - 3 for the family cars, 1 on the wife's table for her tablet, Iphone, etc., one on mine for the same reason, 1 for the son for his backpack - he does a lot of traveling, and the last one for my daughter for all of her electronics. That is why I am considering going down the road to see if I can find anymore - the 7 I got didn't even allow me to put one in my garage where I keep a laptop which I use for YouTube and other reference checks when working on the family cars and my '52 Chevy Pickup. Sorry.......

Figured I would make one last go on the last day. Stopped by one of my better spots and there were carts of items in isles that all looked like penny candidates. Got nervous and spotted a cart full of faucets which all showed no items found. Went up to the cash register and purchased them. Just completed transaction and a lady came running up and grabbed them and said they weren't forsale and they must be confiscated. I told her I purchased them already and she said too bad and told a clerk to take me to service desk to get a refund. I figured it wasn't worth the hassle and just left with my receipt as a trophy.

Once you purchase, it's your property. You had every right to walk out of there.
