Lmao.

To get said deals you must become one with the store and the item, center your energies and then walk out the front door.

I had a bunch of penny items today in my cart. First scan at SCO then BAM!! Loud *** sirens and flashing lights everywhere. Then the machine started yelling "SECURITY ALERT SECURITY ALERT!!"

So embarrassing. :(

Did you throw a bunch of pennies at security (like sand, salt or rice at a wrestling opponent) and run?

Anyone on the west coast experience the penny item Armageddon yet? Went to my local HD today for material for work and spent sometime on the PCA and it showed 2 of the dewalt nailers for 63 in stock. Manager and associate couldn't find them so the manager gave me a coupon for 50 off my next purchase which was way cool of him. I've been trying to find a penny item to verify they don't scan as a penny anymore but couldn't find a single one. My store has really stepped up there game as far as inventory goes.

Oh no, thats my hood! So should i go and ****** up that full case of 12 of the Husky 100 piece tool kits I spotted in the rafters now, or keep waiting for them to drop below .04 pricing?

Just joking, Its all about observing the changes and adapting, there will still be good deals, you just have to adapt and adjust the timing of when you buy.

Sorry if someone has already asked (I checked and could not find anything) but does someone have a PDF of the July Rebate Form? Still having trouble getting my June rebates approved (3 calls so far - giving them another week to supposedly fix the issue) so I wasn't going to submit my receipts in July, but figure I might as well give it a try - not going to get much, but given the impending changes in the HD Clearance Process, might as well use as much of thier money possible to pay for items that I would like.

If someone can post the form I would appreciate same. Thanks......

Here you go:

July 3rd to 16th

July 24th to 30th

I teamed up with the HD Penny Brigade and the HD Penny Resistance Force this evening. We launched a preemptive strike on local HD locations that have not yet updated their SCO machines. Came away victorious with this tool cart for a penny.

Stay strong my fellow Penny Warriors! Keep the penny deals free!!

Or....this is done by sku and if the sku isn't flagged then who knows. Will plant some seeds tomorrow and see what becomes of them...

It almost has that twilight zone/ Tales from the Darkside feel now at the few stores I've been in. Some of the excitement is gone, but the weather is cooling down and electrical work pays better although the excitement is lacking....

I spent some time behind enemy lines this evening on a recon mission. Found a secret MET hideout. Also found a stray overflowing MET penny cart. Will further investigate the MET hideout in the coming weeks.

That seems to be the opposite from what I have seen. If anything they increased inventory recently at stores. I don't remember the tool isle pack as it has been recently.

i watched on the news a couple of months ago that home depot was going to start making changes to how it stocks items in stores this fall, along with a couple of other major retailers. they mentioned that items would be stocked based on how fast they sell and there would be no stock overhead like there was before.

maybe its going roll out slowly :dunno: .

By congratulate, I really mean don't make it a big deal like "oh my god you found a penny item, where did you find that penny item? penny items aren't supposed to exist! call the store manager ASAP!"(And yes this was an actual experience) Instead just let them ring it up and be on their way.

Clearly you're not understanding my whole point which is fine. The fact that they completely revamped the way they do their entire clearance schedule to fix something that was simple to fix by either letting people that find penny items to buy them like any other item or to not allow items to go to a penny.
One thing you are not tginking about is the shear number of customers and employees that hide items until they drop in price. It happens all the time.

The amount of egotistic self-importance here is amazing. Home Depot doesn't have to sell you ****, penny price or not. It's an obvious flaw in their system that is long overdue for a fix. If you are seriously affected by this, you need a better hobby.

Good, glad for a change. Now maybe all the guys hiding clearance items till they penny out will stop and allow others that play by hd rules to get decent discounts.
Amen, I think that most of the people that were getting penny items were doing this.

I found penny items plenty, though the stores around me have poor inventory (some just terrible) and there are a lot of stores in the area.

I'm almost convinced this was the only way to do it. I never could find any penny items.

Same here. I once got a few small boxes of roofing nails for penny :rocker: Other than that I've been quite happy getting items at 50% or 75% off. I don't blame the penny hunters though. They seem work pretty hard at finding the deals
