Visted my HD today and they moved out all their tools clearances from the area but replaced with a seasonal yard/garden clearance theme. They had a bunch of cordless and powered lawn trimmers, chainsaws, supplies, etc. stuff on clearance in mine. A few gas powered and some electric cord powered also.
I ended up buying a spare Black and Decker 18v grass trimmer similar to the one here, but without my Ryobi battery conversion mod. (Shameless, gratuitous, but somewhat interesting link to follow here depending on your worldview):

Cost all of $25.03 at mine with a functional B&D battery, but no charger. So now I have a spare one to use and when the battery dies, I can use my convertor with it too! Definitely worth $25 for the new display model trimmer. I like the B&D trimmers much more than the Ryobi weedwhackers myself, other than their poor batteries. Check out your HD if you have any needs or interest. YMMV greatly on this one of course. - Paul
