So the company that did the repair was the same one who did the original work?

Not only should u NOT be charged a service call but they should be paying for ALL damaged equipment bulbs appliances etc.

Theyre lucky thats ALL they have to pay for. It couldve been way worse! Your whole house couldve burned down....

Ok.. fired off an email stating why I shouldn't pay for the service and asked for reimbursement for blown bulbs and fixtures ($96). Hopefully he will just agree.

**UPDATE**

So I spoke to one of the co-owners about the loose neutral. He said he can't believe that is what the source of the problem was after two months since they did the new panel. He said he needed to speak to the tech who was on site about the issue.

I said OK, call me back after they review.

This should be fun...

So the co-owner is going to battle you for a few hundred bucks resolving a problem his company likely created? He sounds brilliant. Resolving the solution and keeping you happy is priceless advertising.

were you able to take a pic of the affected neutral wire/neutral block? Any pitting/discoloration?

Are you certain the tech got 4-5 turns on that one neutral wire screw?

Are you certain the tech got 4-5 turns on that one neutral wire screw? Yes, I was down there with him and witnessed it. I even mentioned it to him while he was torquing it down..

What was the order of repairs made in? When were voltages checked?

Ask how a screw in a neutral bar can loosen 4-5 turns if no one has been in the panel since they changed it out.

What did the tech say as he discovered this in the panel?

Was the receptacle replaced only or did any splices in that same receptacle box get redone?

When were voltages checked? I had the tech test and confirm the 247v outlets before he went to the basement.

Ask how a screw in a neutral bar can loosen 4-5 turns if no one has been in the panel since they changed it out. Will do

What did the tech say as he discovered this in the panel? Nothing really.

Was the receptacle replaced only or did any splices in that same receptacle box get redone? Yes, I gave him a new outlet to replace the dead one. All he did in the box was was pig tail the excess black and whites.
