Trying find a way to be able to remove a small shed so that I can perform maintenance on my air compressor it is 4x3x7'. The shed has a door but the way I have to build it around the compressor leaves me with very little room. If I ever have to pull the pump then the shed has to be removed. I was thinking of two ways to accomplish this: hinges and tipping it over or putting it on horizontal slides.
1) hinges are the cheapest but I have to build up an internal support structure
2) slides would be great as I can just unlatch it and slide it out of the way. problem-the shed weighs only 80 lbs. and 44" horizontal slides are about $400. That is a bit much for something that is going to be opened up maybe once a year if that. I was thinking of using vertical slides in the horizontal position but they get derated but I don't know by how much.
So here are my questions: does anyone know how much they get derated (I can lube the snot out of them to keep them from rusting) or does someone have another idea?
