Whats a good brand to go with...with a hose real???? Or does it really matter?
kartracer55 said:Coxreels are the best around. Made in USA 2 year warantee, and boy, do you pay for them. My friends dad )the one who runs the striping buisness) has them all over the shop, and he has afew reels for water hose as well. Its all ball bearing and they are heavy as hell... 60+ lbs each.
Next id say Reelcraft, made in usa, but they have 1 year warantee, a bit cheaper. Then you start getting into the asian made stuff.
The drawback to them is that they are really heavy.
If your talking about the manual wind ones, then you cant really go wrong with any of them. A few are made in USA with decent prices, viking makes one that you can get from www/thetoolwarehouse.net

kartracer55 said:Yeah, the good ones at least. You can get the HF ones for liek $50 but your lookign at over 200 for a coxreel. But they are truly industrial. Ill get a pic. of my friends sometime. They use seriously heavy gauge sheet metal and ball bearings... minimal plastic, all powder coated.
The reason we ddint install one in our garage was because it would have to go up into the cieling, and its so damn heavy, wed need to brace up the rafters and we figured its more trouble than its worth.

Elroy said:I didn't take the time to read all of the above. However "reelcraft" is a leader in this field. They make air, water and welding gas reels and more. That is what I would recommend but then again they are not cheap. They will last a life time. And if you go with their stainless line it will outlast your kids kids. Unless you drive over it with the tractor. j/k
