Ok I’m hooking up my new furnace. My question in the electrical is do I have to run a wire from the fuse box or can the juice be tied into an outlet 10 feet away or so. I’m pretty sure if wire comes from fuse box I won’t need a switch if not exclusive thei need the switch..
What gauge wire up to furnace.?

Think code requires a switch within a certain distance of the heater.

Tie in to an existing circuit would be allowed. Wire size would be determined by the circuit amperage likely a 15 or 20 amp.

Cool, thanks showkey. The last one I did 7-8 years ago I put in a switch. But it was direct to breaker box.

I would think you would want a switch just so you can easily turn it off.
What is the volts and amps of that? I would not think that 120 volts at 20 amps would be enough power for that unit. In which case you would need to run larger wire.

That appears to be a propane or NG gas unit ? The total amp draw is 3.7 to 2.5 depending on the model.

I just used a plug in to an outlet, no switch

Such a small amp draw, silly to have its own circuit

The tstat is my on off switch

I just installed the 75K unit and the instructions don't give any indication as the amperage required. Since it is an LP unit and it only uses AC for the fans, I went on the safe side and ran a 20amp dedicated circuit so I could disconnect power for service.

Just my .02

It draws under 4-5 amps
