Re: US General 41" toolbox $279.99

Hello all,

I noticed the US General 41" toolbox on HF's website listed for $350, but it has had a $400 sale tag on it in the store. When I stopped by HF yesterday to get my flyer barcode scanned, I asked one of the friendly sales people about the price difference and he said it was that same price ($350) in the store until the 29th, and confirmed that I could use a 20% off coupon to make it $280 (plus tax).

Subtract a penny from all the prices, of course.

Not the $340 minus 20% deal from a few months ago, but close ($8) if anyone has been waiting.
Good deal atlm. I got in on the $340 deal a few months ago and this box is really awesome and easily worth double the price if it had any other name tag on it.

I was at a HF yesterday and saw it still had the sale $399 price on it. I did not confirm the discount as I just bought a Montezuma box so I don't need a 4th roller just yet!

Just saw this (better than the deal posted earlier for Advance Auto)

Advance Auto Parts is offering a $30 off $75 Online Coupon. Enter code BIG30 to receive the discount. They also have discounts of $10 off $30 and $20 off $50 available using code ES123. Thanks KeithBurbs & beingguided

So did you buy the Evolve sockets for $10 or the craftsman ones in the link? I ask because I went to Sears to check it out and found only the evolve ones for $10. Doesn't the Evolve brand have a non US COE and requires a receipt for warranty?

I bought the Evolv ones. They were the same price plus one more piece and matched the others I bought that day. The Craftsman ones were at a local Sears Hardware in PA. As far as the warranty goes i'm not too worried about it. They have them stamped Craftsman Evolv, if they give me **** I will just tell them ALL Craftsman hand tools have a no questions asked lifetime warranty. It states on the package limited lifetime warranty, but doesn't say anything about needing a receipt.
If they don't replace them it's only 10 bucks and they will never see a lot of use in the first place. I'm not a mechanic, just work on my own stuff and found a couple times these would come in handy.

@Home Cheapo:

a case of 6 cans of WD-40 in the larger sizes (but not the 11 or 12 oz) is $8-$9. Not a huge savings, but considerable nonetheless. I use a lot of WD-40 for cleaning, so I picked up a couple of cases.

And yes, I know I risk another argument about the Dubya-D and its merits or lack thereof.

Good job there, Stuey. Thanks for rounding those up!
Thanks, and you're welcome!

I drew half of them from the various banners and sale announcements that get emailed to me every week, but the other half I discovered manually. Either I'm losing my sale-finding skills, or there just aren't that many this week. I had hoped to be able to find more.

If you can get a member to either go with you, or to get you a gift card you can go in to buy something.

you may even be able to buy a gift card at like a Walgreens but I'm not sure.

It would be nice to see what the markup is so we could tell what we were saving vs people without memberships.

There is no markup. You will be paying the same price as if you are a member. Usually items are marked up 10% at the register when shopping with a guest pass. However this is not the case since this is an open house.

Excellent info!

Now I wonder if you can get the online price in the store or if a non-member cna order off the website during this time?

Good deal *IF* you live near Mesquite (Dallas), TX. The Harbor Freight in Mesquite has an "open box" special on the U.S. General 45", 13 drawer roll cab http://www.harborfreight.com/13-drawer-red-industrial-quality-roller-cabinet-90320.html ; regularly $599.99, on sale for $250.00. Plus, the cashier lady said that the 20% off coupon would apply. They also had a large top cabinet (I think it was 56", maybe more. I thought I would just look it up on their website when I got home but I can't find it). It is similar to the 41" cabinet but with an extra pullout tray to mount tools on a vertical board. Same red finish. IIRC the tag said regular price was $599.99, on sale for $167.00.
